The article is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of the organization and conduct of the process of sports selection in youth and professional football in England. The main scientific and methodological approaches of software and system support of the process of sports selection in youth and professional football in England are analysed. The program of the English Football Association "Talent pathway" (in the Ukrainian edition - "Шлях таланту") is presented in detail. The essence of this program is that due to participation in the program in special "Regional Talent Camps" and "National Talent Camps" thoughtful and in-depth selection and sports training are young football players aged 7 to 16 years. The program of the English Premier League "Premier League Primary Stars" has been studied. We believe that a certain selective broadcast of the English system of organization and conduct of the process of sports selection and selection in youth and professional football is possible in terms of the model of functioning and improvement of youth football schools and football clubs of Ukraine. Scientific and practical approaches to the organization and conduct of educational, training and competitive forms of sports selection and orientation in the age groups "U 10" (children under 10 years) and "U 12" (children under 12 years) are analysed. The system of organization of competitions in age groups "U 14" (teenagers under 14 years) and "U 16" (boys under 16 years) is studied. Such a scientific and methodological approach can provide an opportunity to effectively integrate domestic football to the best examples of European and world sport of excellence, which are competitions under the auspices of FIFA and UEFA.

The current stage of development of Ukrainian football requires a software solution to a number of complex problems related to improving the quality of the game and increasing the competitiveness of Ukrainian teams in the international arena. In this context, it is essential to address topical issues of sports selection and game orientation of players at all industry levels. We believe that the study of the best Belgian experience in building and organizing a system of sports selection and game orientation of players can fill the necessary information and methodological gap in understanding the deep processes of success in modern high-achievement sports. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to determine the features of the organization and conduct of the process of sports selection and game orientation of Belgian football players. The Belgian Royal Football Association has created a well-thought-out and structured system of education, upbringing, training, improvement and development of playing opportunities for young footballers from the age of 6. The use of game and competitive methods of "nurturing" football talents is the basis of the Belgian theoretical and methodological approach. Simultaneously with the development of creative game potential, the emphasis is on the harmonious growth of football personalities. Clear structuring of training and competitive requirements - the basis of successful performances of the national teams of Belgium in the international arena. The success of the Belgian national football team in recent years is undeniable. The country of 11 million people with only 34 professional football clubs has managed to nurture the "golden football generation".

Introduction. Indicators of financial and economic support and migration of football players create preconditions for the formation of a highly competitive sports environment in professional football clubs and in the Ukrainian Premier League. The aim of the study is to analyze the quantitative indicators of migration of football players in the Ukrainian Premier League in relation to the financial and economic support of professional football clubs and to systematize the results. Materials and methods: analysis and generalization of data of scientific and methodical literature sources and the Internet, pedagogical observations, content analysis of materials of official sites of professional football clubs of the Ukrainian Premier League, official sites of the Ukrainian Football Association and the Ukrainian Premier League, methods of mathematical statistics. Results. The relationship between the financial value of Ukrainian athletes and migrant footballers, who are declared in the competition of the Ukrainian Premier League of the season 2021-2022, is analyzed. Conclusions. Analysis of the financial value of professional football clubs of the Ukrainian Premier League in relation to the migration of football players allows us to state that the leaders of the sports rating are the most financially capable teams: «Shakhtar» (Donetsk) and «Dynamo» (Kyiv), with a total the transfer value of the players is € 179,700,000 and € 136,100,000 respectively. The average cost of a migrant player in the leading professional football clubs of the Ukrainian Premier League «Shakhtar» (Donetsk) is 8,800,000 €, «Dynamo» (Kyiv) ‒ 3,420,000 €. Analysis of the transfer value of domestic athletes and migrant footballers in the application letters of the Ukrainian Premier League shows the absence of direct and inverse linear relationships, which suggests the presence of complex multilevel dependencies that require processing by more complex mathematical and statistical methods and preliminary grouping of available experimental data

The aim of this study was to explore: (a) sociocultural features of a first team environment perceived to influence a player's progression, (b) the ways in which young players should manage these features and (c) how coaches operate to assist young players during specific phases in the youth-to-senior transition. Semi-structured interviews with eight elite development coaches in English Premier League football clubs generated two higher order categories: fitting in with standards of first team environment (e.g. handling social dynamics in the first team group) and facilitating shared perception of transition across key stakeholders (e.g. communicating with first team staff). Together, these findings indicate the need for young players to navigate between conforming, adapting to and breaking with specific features of the first team environment to successfully progress in the youth-to-senior transition to professional football.

Abstract Most professional European football clubs are well-structured businesses. Therefore, the financial performance of investments in players becomes crucial. In this paper, after the problem is discussed and formalized, an optimization model with the objective of maximizing the expected value of the team is presented. The model ensures that the team has the required mix of skills, that competition regulations are met, and that budget limits are respected. The model explicitly takes into account the uncertainty in the career development of football players. A case study based on the English Premier League is presented. Our results show that the model has significant potential to improve current decisions ensuring a steady growth of the value of the team. The team value growth reported is particularly driven by investments in young prospects.

The goals of this paper are first to identify why professional football clubs replace their head coach and, second, to investigate the effect of coach dismissal on team performance. To do that, we propose a new method for assessing the performance expectations of professional sport teams using Monte Carlo simulation. We apply our method to the English Premier league and the French Ligue 1 football teams over the 2015–2016 and 2016–2017 seasons. We find that coach dismissal is the result of a drop in the average expected performance compared with the performance expectations at the beginning of the season. We also show that dismissing a coach may enhance performance only if the team under-performed before the dismissal. There is no obstacle to using the same method for professional teams in other sports. The method is easily reproducible and does not require much information in order to be applied.

Introduction. Modern football is characterized by increasing trends in migration and transfer activity in the leading European football leagues and a decrease in the number of students of their own children's and youth academies of the leading football clubs of the European Championships for the period 2009-2019. The aim of the study is to investigate and determine the level of financial support for the migration of qualified players in leading European clubs on the basis of their transfer activities (according to open sources). Material and methods: analysis and generalization of data of scientific and methodical literature sources and the Internet, pedagogical observations, content analysis of materials of official websites of football clubs, UEFA and FIFA, methods of mathematical statistics. Results. In the «TOP-20» ranking of leading European football clubs at the end of 2019 in terms of total transfer costs, which determine the migration of qualified players, there is the following distribution: «Barclays Premier League» (England) – 8 football clubs (40%) with transfer costs € 4,726 million (43,40%); «Liga de Futbol Profesional, Primera Division» (Spain) – 4 football clubs (20%) with transfer costs of 2415 million € (22,17%); «Lega Nazionale Professionisti Serie A TIM» (Italy) – 4 football clubs (20%) with transfer costs of € 1,816 million (16,67%); «Le championnat de France de football» (France) – 2 football clubs (10%) with transfer costs of 1261 million € (11,58%); «Fußball-Bundesliga» (Germany) – 2 football clubs (10%) with a transfer cost of € 673 million (6,18%). Conclusions. Analysis of the structure of profits «TOP-20» ranking of leading European clubs, shows that the average is: about 44% – the sale of rights to telecast competitions, about 40% – advertising revenue and about 16% is the share of revenue from tickets and season tickets. Indicators of financial activity of leading European football clubs are monitored by UEFA and FIFA programs for compliance with the requirements and criteria of financial «Fair Play».

BackgroundThe increased popularity of football in addition to the physical and mental demands placed on players increase the risk of soccer injuries. We set out to identify injury patterns among footballers involved in selected Glo sponsored Ghana premier league games during the 2009/2010 season.MethodologyDigital video compact discs (DVDs) of thirty randomly selected 2009/2010 matches were acquired for the study from the Ghana Football Association. A Samsung DVD player and television set were used to playback and watch the matches. The researchers stopped the video immediately an injury occurred and the disc was then put in slow playback movement whilst the occurrence of injury was recorded on an injury report form.All statistical analyses were performed using SPSS version 20.ResultsA total of 139 injuries were recorded during the study with an average injury incidence of 4.63±1.99 injuries per match. Tackling attempts (51.1%) was the predominant mechanism of injury with the ankle (26.6%) being the most injured body part. There was a significant association between player position and number of injuries suffered (p=0.038) and a significant association observed between player position and severity of injuries (p = 0.042). The uses of icepack (34.5%) and vapocoolant spray (32.4%) were the most common first aid treatment for the injuries sustained.ConclusionThe study indicated that professional football players in Ghana are exposed to high injury risks as evident by the relatively high injury incidence.
