Abstract Deutsche Edelstahlwerke Cryodur 2067 is a high-carbon, 1.5% chromium, alloy cold-work tool steel. In view of its higher hardenability than that of the non-alloy, water-hardening, cold work tool steels, this steel can be oil quenched, a factor that minimizes dimensional changes during quench hardening. Cryodur 2067 is suitable for short run tooling in applications requiring high surface hardness. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-786. Producer or source: Deutsche Edelstahlwerke Specialty Steel.

Abstract UHB SVERKER 21 is a high-carbon, high-chromium cold-work tool steel alloyed with molybdenum and vanadium. It has high hardenability and high surface hardness after hardening. It has excellent wear resistance and high compressive strength along with moderate toughness (shock resistance). This steel also is characterized by excellent stability (safety) in hardening and good resistance to tempering. Its many applications include a wide range of cold-working dies, cold-heading tools, gages, knurling tools and shears. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and compressive strength. It also includes information on heat treating and machining. Filing Code: TS-356. Producer or source: Uddeholm Steel Corporation.

Abstract CarTech L6 is an oil-hardening, high-carbon (0.70%), nickel-chromium, alloy cold-work tool steel. It is suitable for short run tooling in applications where a combination of high hardness and good toughness is required. The relatively high nickel content results in an alloy with greater impact toughness compared to the other common oil-hardening grades. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-800. Producer or source: Carpenter Technology Corporation.

Abstract Deutsche Edelstahlwerke Cryodur 1730 is a medium-carbon, non-alloy cold-work tool steel. It is primarily used in the non-heattreated condition. For special applications it is used in the quenched and tempered condition. Owing to its low hardenability Cryodur 1730 develops a fully hardened zone that is relatively thin, even when quenched drastically. Thicker sections have a hard case over a tough core. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on wear resistance as well as heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: TS-808. Producer or source: Deutsche Edelstahlwerke Specialty Steel.

Abstract Deutsche Edelstahlwerke Cryodur 2002 is a high-carbon, alloy cold-work tool steel in which the principal alloying element is chromium. It is among the least expensive of the tool steels and requires strict control of processing and heat treatment to achieve good properties and performance. The low alloy content of this steel yields few alloy carbides and, therefore, lower wear resistance compared to the more highly alloyed tool steels. The hardenability of Cryodur 2002 is low, and rapid quenching is required to produce a martensitic microstructure. Despite rapid quenching, this steel may harden only to shallow depths. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming and heat treating. Filing Code: TS-809. Producer or source: Deutsche Edelstahlwerke Specialty Steel GmbH.

Abstract AL TECH HURON is a cold-work tool steel developed for applications requiring high resistance to wear or to abrasion and for resistance to heavy pressure rather than to sudden shock. Because of these qualities and its good nondeforming properties, it is unsurpassed (for an oil-hardening tool steel) for die work on long production runs. It has superior depth of hardening. Its many applications include cold trimmer dies, lamination dies, plug gages, slitting cutters and blanking, stamping and cold-forming dies and punches for long runs. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and compressive strength as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-481. Producer or source: AL Tech Specialty Steel Corporation.
