The relevance of the issue lies in revealing the role of regions in modern cultural practice, because in those regions many interesting artifacts are concentrated and many initiatives are born, the implementation of which helps them gradually come to the forefront of cultural practice of the state. The methodology. A biographical method was applied, with the help of which it was possible to reconstruct the origins and cultural potential of Rivne conductor H. Fiskov and to reveal his potential opportunities in art. The method of content analysis helped to compare the available information with the reaction of public to the concerts held in the city and to clarify the role of the chamber orchestra “Brevis” in the system of cultural services for the local population. The historical method was used during the correlation of information about the development of creativity (composition and translations of popular world’s hits) for the existing orchestra of H. Fiskov. And all this helped to create a specific creative portrait of a regional musician who is able to respond to modern challenges. The scientific topicality. The cultural potential of the region is revealed through the prism of artistic and organizational-cultural activity of Rivne instrumental conductor and teacher H. Fiskov, his potential creative characteristics are analyzed, the main parameters of which allow the artist to actively position himself in the space of modern art culture. Referring to the creative potential of the artist, changes for the better in this situation in the region are predicted due to the need to create a number of organizational structures, which will help normalize the existing artistic life, give it significant professionalism and thus significantly affect the level of artistic culture of the local population. The practical significance of the study is to share this information among the artists from other regions of the country, an attempt to change the existing potential of artistic groups in the regions, subordinating it to general issues of state or regional cultural policy.

This article centers around the case study of Rome's House of Memory and History to understand the politics of memory and public institutions. This case study is about the organization and politics of public memory: the House of Memory and History, established by the city of Rome in 2006, in the framework of an ambitious program of cultural policy. It summarizes the history of the House's conception and founding, describes its activities and the role of oral history in them, and discusses some of the problems it faces. The idea of a House of Memory and History grew in this cultural and political context. This article traces several political events that led to the culmination of the politics of memory and its effect on public institutions. It says that the House of Memory and History can be considered a success. A discussion on a cultural future winds up this article.

The article discusses the issue of the sustainable development of the cross-border market for cultural services in a city divided by the state border. The article uses the example of Cieszyn and Český Těšín, a city divided following the decision of the Council of Ambassadors in 1920. The research carried out so far indicates the main constraints in the harmonious functioning of the cross-border market for cultural services in this city, such as: different cultural policies implemented on both sides of the city, language barriers as well as legal and administrative differences. Therefore, the authors undertook research aimed at recognising the role of Euroregional structures in stimulating the sustainable development of this region. On the basis of the analysis of the Cieszyn Silesia Euroregion's documentation and the results of qualitative and quantitative research, the article describes the role of the Euroregion in building a cross-border market for cultural services. Recommendations were also prepared that could constitute the principles of a common cultural policy not only for Cieszyn and Český Těšín, but also for other European cities in the Schengen Area, which, like Cieszyn and Český Těšín, have been divided by a state border.

Sebagai kota yang dibangun dengan mempertimbangkan aspek kosmologis, alun-alun merupakan salah satu elemen pembentuk Kota Bandung sejak menjadi pusat pemerintahan Kabupaten Bandung pada 25 September 1810. Alun-alun Kota Bandung mengalami perubahan fungsi, dari titik batas ruang profan dan ruang sakral menjadi ruang terbuka publik sehingga makna filosofisnya mengalami pergeseran. Untuk memahami perubahan tersebut secara kronologis, dilakukan penelitian historis dengan menerapkan metode sejarah yang terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu heuristik, kritik, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam perkembangannya, warga Kota Bandung tidak lagi memandang alun-alun sebagai salah satu elemen penyeimbang antara makrokosmos dan mikrokosmos, melainkan sebagai ruang terbuka publik tempat bersosialisasi seluruh warga kota. Fungsi Alun-alun Kota Bandung menunjukkan perubahan, dari sebuah lapangan terbuka dengan fungsi administratif kota tradisional hingga menjadi sebuah taman kota yang menjadi destinasi wisata di pusat kota sehingga memperlihatkan fungsi sosial-ekonomi.As a city that was built which takes the cosmological aspect into consideration, the square is one of the elements that formed the city of Bandung since becoming the capital of Bandung Regency on September 25, 1810. Its changing functions, which were traditionally perceived as a boundary of profane and sacred space into modern public open space, reflected a shifting in philosophical meaning. To understand the changes chronologically, this paper uses historical method which consists of four stages, namely, heuristics, critique, interpretation, and historiography. The results show that gradually the citizens of Bandung no longer look at the city square as one of the elements of the balance between the macrocosm and microcosm, but rather as a place for community gatherings. Its function changes from an open field with the administrative role of the traditional city into a city park that became a tourist destination in the city centre with socio-economic functions.

The Greek civilization is one of the basic elements of the so-called civilization conflict in ancient times, and history has preserved the echo of that conflict, but historians have been limited to describing and evaluating the conflict without focusing on the role of money in managing the movement of the conflict, which had an influential nature in the politics of Greece in general , especially after Macedonia entered the line of conflict and took control of the city of Krindes at the foot of Mount Pangios, which is distinguished by its richness of gold, as it made it richer than the rest of the Greek states,Philip took out from it thousands of gold every year, which enabled him to bribe the opposition politicians, and this is where the researchs' importance is marked with the emergence of money in the Greek countries and its impact on life back then. Based on this importance, the reason for choosing this particular topic is of the axes of the historical review conference - Ancient history- as the study aims to find similarities and differences between the money spread in that period since this topic was studied according to the historical method.

This article aims to advance the literature on policy mobility by decentring the primacy of mobility itself and focusing on understanding what cities do in order to ‘arrive at’ localized versions of urban policy in relation to globally circulating ideas around creativity. The paper explores the performance of a particular local ‘creative economy’ in terms of institutional and strategic adjustments, key drivers and individuals and events, and the role of long-term local, national and international influences on ‘creative cityness’. It does this through an analysis of cultural and creativity policy and local stakeholders in the cultural policy scene in Gdańsk, Poland, focusing on the local performative aspects of mobile policies and arguing the need to understand the formation of a ‘common local project’ as a form of intra-urban connectedness alongside inter-urban connectedness. The paper extends the range of contexts in which the ‘creative city’ has been analysed to include post-socialist, post-European Union accession Central and Eastern Europe, thus making an original contribution by studying these issues in the context of the complex multi-scalar relations between the city, national government and the supranational European Union and the ideological conflict between national authoritarian neoliberalism and urban and supranational scale (neo-)liberalism.

Abstract: Toronto is experiencing a building boom, with eight major cultural construction projects in the works. These new monuments, part of what the City of Toronto calls its “Cultural Renaissance,” are intended to bolster the city’s reputation as an international economic and cultural capital. Albeit architecturally important, these buildings are better understood in the context of contemporary patterns of global economic competition and the changing role of culture in capitalist production. They also assert national identity and reflect a reorientation of Canadian cultural policy. This paper analyzes Toronto’s “Cultural Renaissance” in light of changing cultural policies at the municipal, provincial, and federal levels, examining the role these new buildings will play in terms of promoting cultural tourism, city “branding,” and nationalism. Résumé : La ville de Toronto connaît actuellement un boum immobilier comprenant huit projets culturels majeurs. Ces nouveaux monuments, qui feront partie de ce qu’elle appelle une « Renaissance culturelle », visent à accroître la réputation de la ville en tant que capitale économique et culturelle internationale. Ces immeubles sont importants du point de vue architectural, mais leur fonction se comprend mieux dans le contexte de la concurrence économique mondiale actuelle et du rôle changeant de la culture dans la production capitaliste. Ils affirment en outre l’identité nationale et reflètent une réorientation de la politique culturelle canadienne. Cet article analyse cette « Renaissance culturelle » torontoise à la lumière des politiques culturelles changeantes aux niveaux municipal, provincial et fédéral, examinant le rôle que ces nouveaux immeubles joueront dans la promotion du tourisme culturel et du nationalisme et dans la mise en valeur de la ville en tant que « marque ».

This study focuses on the role of cultural policy in the rise of multiculturalism with a case study of the Indonesian Art Exhibition, Pameran Seni Rupa Nusantara (PSRN) 2000s, which was initiated by a cultural institution, the National Gallery of Indonesia (GNI). PSRN exhibition is one of the important programs of GNI because it gives space to the artists of the archipelago - not just Java and Bali - to present works of modern-contemporary art rooted in local wisdom. As a nation that has the characteristics of pluralism, the spirit of multiculturalism in art has become very significant, especially in the middle of the Disruption era which is "full of uncertainty". This article uses qualitative research with a historical method approach: heuristics, verification, interpretation and historiography, namely the process of writing history based on proven facts. Material Culture analysis approach, shows how history may be read and interpreted through objects/ artefacts/findings used by artists in their works. The results show that the Cultural Policy implemented by GNI is a combination of cultural policies that are authoritarian with the cultural policies of the Command, with an emphasis on the strength of the Potential Localization owned by the Indonesian people.

This study focuses on the role of the National Gallery of Indonesia (GNI) in maintaining multiculturalism through the policies implemented, namely initiating the activities of the Pameran Seni Rupa Nusantara (PSRN). The PSRN exhibition is one of the GNI’s most important programs because it gives space to the artists of the archipelago - not just Java and Bali - to present works of modern-contemporary art rooted in local wisdom. As a nation that has the characteristics of pluralism, the spirit of multiculturalism in art has become very significant, especially in the middle of the Disruption era which is ”full of uncertainty”. Earlier studies have suggested that the aesthetic concept of Indonesia was based on Indonesian cultural diversity, but these studies do not specifically address GNI policies. This article uses qualitative research with a historical method approach together with a material culture analysis approach. The results of the study show that GNI as the State Cultural Institute plays an important role in maintaining multiculturalism through exhibition events involving roles and figures. The role of architectural heritage in the formation of identity of Russian cities is poorly studied. The interaction of the tangible and intangible architectural heritage is hardly covered. The article analyses the results of sociological surveys among the local population of a number of Russian historic cities. Regarding the results of these surveys, the authors reveal the specific types of the residents’ perception of the city’s architectural heritage, as well as the connection between its material and virtual components in the image of the city.

The Symbolical Meaning Daak Maraaq Music and Daak Hudoq of Hudoq Bahau Ritual in Samarinda, East Borneo. The ritual of Hudoq is an annual cultural practice performed by Dayak Bahau people in the city of Samarinda. The performance of this ritual consists of some phases in which every phase of it represents the symbolical meaning closely related to the value of the ritual. Those phases are (1) Lemivaa Lalii’; (2) Hudoq Taharii’; (3) Lemivaa Tasam; (4) Hudoq Kawit; and (5) Hudoq Pakoq.  Daak Maraaq and Daak Hudoq music and Hudoq dance are performed during the ritual. Daak Maraaq and Daak Hudoq are two different kinds of music, both have a different style of performance, stage of performance, and style of music. Due to its complexity, it becomes especially important to analyze the role of the symbolical meaning of music performed in the ritual of Hudoq. This is a qualitative research within an ethnomusicological approach—music within the cultural perspective—which is done through an analytical descriptive method. The theoretical approach used for this case study is symbolic interpretation and music (transcription) analyses. Despite analyzing the symbolical meaning of Daak Maraaq and Daak Hudoq music, this research is done to provide important information about musical analyses—within the ethnomusicological perspective—of that music. According to the data collected, the ritual of Hudoq has an important role in performing the symbolical meaning of the identical value of ritual, social, and existential meaning for the lives of Dayak Bahau people in Samarinda city, East Borneo.
