<p><em>The study aims to examine the feasibility of a learning device using a metacognitive strategy for use in physics learning for XI-grade high school students. The development of the device is based on the study of the physics learning competencies referring to the 2013 curriculum based on the study of physical learning competencies that refer to the 2013 curriculum. The learning devices that are organized include learning plans and physics study results tests. The method used is Research and Development (R &amp; D) refers to the step developed by the simplified Borg &amp; Gall. The test instrument of learning results consists of 31 questions of multiple choice and has been validated by evaluation experts, physicists, physics education, expert and practitioners. The validation test was tested in 176 high school students in Pontianak City. Expert analysis using the validity of the content of Aiken's V provides a 0.77 validity index. The reliability test using SPSS 17.0 provides a reliability index of 0.71. Analysis of the device's effectiveness of metacognitive learning plans developed to improve student learning outcomes through learning trials in class XI students. The results showed that there were significant differences in the learning outcomes of students using the Learning Strategy tool that using the learning devices used in the school is obtained T<sub>hitung</sub> = 2.055 (α = 0.044; df = 59). As such, learning devices are developed worthy of use in physics learning in the XI class.</em></p>

Many countries have incorporated computational thinking (CT) and programming languages into their science and technology courses. Students can improve their CT ability by learning programming languages. Moreover, situated learning enables students to generate knowledge and master problem-solving skills through interaction with situations. This study incorporated Webduino learning and the situated learning strategy into a programming course and analyzed its impact on high school students’ CT ability, learning motivation, and course satisfaction. A quasi-experimental research method was adopted, wherein the experimental group was subjected to the situated learning strategy and the control group was subjected to a traditional teaching method. The study results revealed that integrating Webduino programming with situated learning could effectively improve five categories of CT skills; moreover, the activity models of situated learning enhanced the value and expectation dimensions of learning motivation. In addition, satisfaction with the course content and self-identity slightly improved. However, because teachers were required to elaborate on stories to promote learner engagement with life situations, the time available for programming was limited. Thus, no significant difference was observed in teaching satisfaction.

Project based learning is one method that guides pedagogical technology to interactive learning that includes to the preparation and presentation of projects. The contribution of project based learning has been widely acknowledged for the development of competence of learners. In Indonesia, the appropriate learning model in Curriculum 2013 is based on constructivist learning theory. In learning geography tends to be still centered on the teacher (teacher centered) so that learning does not run optimally. Project based learning using a virtual group is expected to provide solutions in generating meaningful and synchronous learning activities toward the curriculum 2013. This study aims to test the model of project based learning by using a virtual group on the results of learning geography of high school students. The subjects of this study were students of Class X Senior High School 1 Lumajang even semester of academic year 2016/2017 consisting 2 classes. The X-IIS 1 class is set as the experiment class and the X-IIS 2 class as the control class. This is because students in both classes have the same or equivalent abilities based on middle test scores. This research is a quasi experiment research with Non Equivalent Control Group Design design. Instrument assessment of learning outcomes using essay tests. Assessment results form data that are then analyzed using test-test with the help of SPSS 16.0 for Windows program. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant effect of project-based learning model using the virtual group to the students' geography learning outcomes. Based on pretest and posttest differences shows that the mean value of experimental class gainscore (45,63) is higher than control class (30,02). The result of data analysis using independent sample t test showed that project based learning model obtained probability value (p-level) smaller than 0.05 with sig 0,00. The conclusion in this study that the learning model of project-based learning using the virtual group on the results of learning geography of high school students.

ABSTRAK Fisika adalah ilmu yang sangat erat dengan kehidupan sehari-hari dan menjadi tonggak perkembangan teknologi. Oleh sebab itu, mata pelajaran fisika diberikan pada siswa-siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA). Pembelajaran Fisika harusnya menekankan pada pengalaman langsung untuk mengembangkan kompetensi agar siswa mampu memahami fenomena alam. Hal ini akan membantu siswa untuk memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih mendalam. Akan tetapi, banyak sekolah-sekolah di Indonesia tidak memiliki peralatan yang cukup memadai untuk menunjang pembelajaran eksperimen, termasuk beberapa SMA di daerah Surabaya dan sekitarnya. Program Studi Pendidikan Fisika sebagai institusi yang mencetak calon guru-guru fisika perlu memberikan andil dalam mengatasi keterbatasan yang dimiliki oleh SMA-SMA di Surabaya dan sekitarnya. Program Studi Pendidikan Fisika memiliki peralatan dan sumber daya manusia yang cukup memadahi sehingga memungkinkan untuk mengadakan program pengabdian masyarakat berupa Pendampingan Eksperimen Fisika untuk Siswa-Siswa SMA. Program ini telah terlaksana sejak September 2018 hingga April 2019 melibatkan 14 sekolah mitra dengan jumlah siswa yang berpartisipasi sebanyak 1259 siswa. Kegiatan ini mendapatkan respon yang baik dari pihak sekolah, guru fisika, dan para siswa. Melalui kegiatan ini, keterbatasan peralatan eksperimen di sekolah cukup teratasi. Para siswa juga antusias sebab dengan kegiatan eksperimen pembelajaran fisika menjadi lebih menarik.Kata Kunci: eksperimen fisika; pengabdian kepada masyarakat; sekolah menengah atas.ABSTRACT Physics is closely related to our daily life and becomes a fundamental subject for technology development. That is why physics is given to high school students. The physics learning process should emphasize direct experience to guide students in understanding phenomena in nature. The direct experiment will stimulate students to develop their in-depth knowledge.   However, most schools in Indonesia, including in Surabaya, do not have adequate experiment apparatus to support that physics learning activity with experiments.  Department of Physics Education, as an institute that educates pre-service physics teachers, should contribute to solving the limitation of some senior high schools in Surabaya. Department of  Physics Education in Widya Mandala Catholic University has sufficient experiment facilities and human resources to conduct a community service program in the form of Physics Experiment Assistance for High School Students. The program has been conducted from September 2018 until April 2019. There are 14 schools attendinng this program, with 1259 students involved. This program gains positive responses from school principals, physics teachers, and students. Through this program, the limitation of several high schools in providing experiment facilities can be partially solved. Students who involve in this program are enthusiastic because, through experiments, physics learning activity becomes more interesting. Physics teaching materials for Senior High School that supporting the development of human resources that is able to adapt to any changes, to solve complex problems, creative thinking and familiar with information technology has not been widely available in senior high schools in West Sumatra. Based on the above, research that aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of Physics teaching materials that integrates Mathematics, Science, Technology, natural disasters, and the noble character (MSTBK) on WEB for Senior High School grade XI and to determine the effect of the use of teaching materials MSTBK on the learning outcomes of high school students in class XI. The quasi-experiment design research was comparing the learning outcome before and after the state of the object being treated. The treatments were using physics teaching materials that developed for teaching learning in Senior High School grade XI. The experiment was conducted at five senior high schools in West Sumatra were divided into 3 levels. The data were analyzed by using a statistical product moment and Anova. The research showed that the physics teaching materials that developed are effectively to improve student learning outcomes in Senior High School grade XI in West Sumatera with a correlation coefficient (r_xy) = 0. 31. Levene Statistic showed the average of the learning outcomes of high school students in grade XI was different, but yet rules Tukey HSD and Bonferroni statistics show that there are not significantly of 0.05 at a significance level in West Sumatra
