The article is an attempt to describe the correlation between the semantic meaning of the Church Slavonic compound words beginning with ВСЕ- or МНОГО- and the ones with ВСЕ- or МНОГО- as a second component. These parallel compound words may be classified into three groups: close synonyms, synonyms with possible double interpretation and/or additional meaning, units with no semantic correlation. The meaning of quality enhancement is the ground for semantic similarity in the compound words in question. There also have been analyzed some examples of different meanings in the doubles of such compound words. The Greek parallels of the Church Slavonic compound words with ВСЕ- и МНОГО- are also taken into consideration.

To solve resource-tagging inefficiency and low-precision retrieval in special field, an analysis method of tag semantic relevancy based on controlled database was proposed. The characteristic of special field and building method for controlled database were discussed. Domain ontology correlation calculation method was used to get semantic correlation. The tag semantic similarity calculation method was developed for semantic similarity, and normalization was used to increase the similarity accuracy. With semantic correlation and similarity as parameters, the semantic relevancy in special field can be obtained. This method was used successfully in the special field of actual projects, improved resource-tagging and retrieval efficiency.

This study used qualitative methods with participant observer to study Continuity and change of Ende Book and Yamuger's Song of the Church is an integral part of church music. Continuity and change by using synchronic and historical diachronic theory. To study the structure of music used the theory of weighted scale, rhythm, and the relationship of music with text. To study the text used semiotic theory. The origins of song and melody texts are from the German Protestant congregation, which is then translated into Batak (Ende's Book) and Indonesian (Yamunger's Song of the Church). On the other hand, there are also direct translations that give rise to differences of etymological and semantic meaning between these three types of chanting. In the context of sosioreligious, Batak language has been very fulfilled into a language of religious choice in worship, to strengthen the social sentiments that cause the emergence of religious emotions and the attainment of the inner atmosphere of the congregation. Among young people the phenomenon above is true, but not in all places or locations of the support community, so the doubt about its loyalty to Ende's Book is undoubtedly not a latent danger. Social sentiment that causes the emergence of religious emotion is still considered strong, but it is expected that there will be a system that will be a benchmark to be able to stay awake.

The article is devoted to the meaning of the Church Slavonic compound words beginning with component все-. This group of words is not semantically homogenious and this should be reflected in the meanings’ descriptions which are to be classified according to certain criteria. In this work the traditional principles of the description of the compound words’ meanings are used: the words derivative from the same parts of speech and characterized by the unity of grammar and logic connections between them are grouped together. The article’s findings are based on the previous researchers’ observations about the component все-possibility either to retaliate the meanings of the pronoun весь or to mould the meaning of general quality amplification. According to these characteristics, it is suggested in the article to single out the three types of meanings. One of the article’s focus is on the subtypes of the third type. At the same time, the subject of the article’s particular interest is the fact that a lot of words under analysis can simultaneously have the meanings of the two or the three types.

We employed a boundary paradigm to investigate how Chinese two-character compounds (i.e., compound words) are processed during reading. The first character of the compound was an ambiguous morpheme that had a dominant and subordinate meaning. In Experiment 1, there were three previews of the second character: identical to the target character; the preview provided subordinate biasing information (the subordinate condition); the preview provided dominant biasing information (the dominant condition). An invisible boundary was inserted between the two characters. We found that gaze durations and go-past times on the compounds were longer in the subordinate condition than those in the dominant or identical conditions. In Experiment 2, the semantic similarity between target and preview words in the dominant condition was manipulated to determine whether the differences in fixation durations in Experiment 1 resulted from the semantic similarity between the preview and target words. There were significant fixation duration differences on the target word between the dominant and subordinate conditions only when the preview and target words were semantically related. This finding indicated that the whole-word meaning plays an important role in processing Chinese compounds and that the whole-word access route is the principal processing route in reading two-character compounds in Chinese.

Semantic annotation is the fundament for the progress and realization of semantic web, meanwhile, provides formatted description for the knowledge in web pages and its semantic meaning in the field. A method for semantic annotation to webpage was presented under the instruction of domain ontology in this paper. By Edit distance and Wordnet distance and from the two aspects the semantic meaning of the word, the semantic correlation degree was measured, then the mapping relation of webpage and ontology was built. Moreover, after the semantic annotating to the WebPages, the ontology was expanded effectively by the annotation results, to domanialize the ontology. At the end, experimental results show the tagging method bases on the weight coefficient acquired form Edit distance, wordnet distance and extended ontology concept is provided with the best performance and the method is effective and applicable.

(Title: Semantic Meaning of Japanese Compound Verbs ~kaesu). Compound verbs (fukugoudoushi) are compound words formed from a combination of at least two morphemes that have new grammatical meanings and functions as a verb. Compound verbs in Japanese can be formed from the combination of nouns with verbs (N + V), verbs with verbs (V1 + V2), adjectives with verbs (A + V), and adverbs with verbs (AD + V). The results of the combination structure above can produce diverse meanings. One of the causes is the presence of several verbs forming the back of the elements whose characteristics have many meanings. For example in the verb kaesu. Besides acting as an element forming the back, kaesu can also act as an element forming the front.  Kaesu can form many compound verbs with different meanings. The aim of this research is to describe the semantic meaning of compound verbs –kaesu. The data being used are obtained from the website and some online news articles. The data were collected by library study, observation and writing technique. Then, the research data were analyzed using distributional method. The results of the analysis are presented by an informal method which is explained with simple words.

Main Street in Sarasota, Florida. A high-tech medical arts building rises from the east end, the county's historic three-story courthouse is two blocks to the west and sandwiched in between is the First Church of Christ, Scientist. A verse inscribed on the wall behind the pulpit of the church reads: “Divine Love Always Has Met and Always Will Meet Every Human Need.” This is the church where William and Christine Hermanson worshipped. It is just a few steps away from the courthouse where they were convicted of child abuse and third-degree murder for failing to provide conventional medical care for their seven-year-old daughter. This Article is about the intersection of “divine love” and “the best interests of the child.” It is about a pluralistic society where the dominant culture reveres medical science, but where a religious minority shuns and perhaps fears that same medical science. It is also about the struggle among different religious interests to define the legal rights of the citizenry.

AbstractThis paper examines the actions of one Salvadorean priest – Padre David Rodríguez – in one parish – Tecoluca – to underscore the importance of religious leadership in the rise of El Salvador's contentious political movement that began in the early 1970s, when the guerrilla organisations were only just beginning to develop. Catholic leaders became engaged in promoting contentious politics, however, only after the Church had experienced an ideological conversion, commonly referred to as liberation theology. A focus on one priest, in one parish, allows for generalisation, since scores of priests, nuns and lay workers in El Salvador followed the same injustice frame and tactics that generated extensive political mobilisation throughout the country. While structural conditions, collective action and resource mobilisation are undoubtedly necessary, the case of religious leaders in El Salvador suggests that ideas and leadership are of vital importance for the rise of contentious politics at a particular historical moment.
