Abstract. It is a matter of current study to determine potential climate changes in different parts of the world, especially in regions like a basin which has the potential to affect socioeconomic and environmental issues in a defined area. This study provides a comparison between several climate change indices trends of two very different basins in Mexico, one located in the northern arid region (the Conchos River basin) and the other in the southern humid area (the Usumacinta River basin). First, quality control, homogenization, and completion of the missing data were applied before calculating the climate change indices and their respective trends for the combined period 1961–1994. A clear warming signal was found for the two basins in addition to an increment in the DTR, in agreement with other studies in Mexico. Also, the Conchos River basin was found to be more humid and the Usumacinta River basin drier, in accordance to a supposed seesaw behavior indicated in previous analysis.

The article examines the prerequisites and features of the SMART-economy. This new phenomenon is still insufficiently studied in the scientific literature. Different approaches and separate definitions of SMART-economy in the scientific literature are systematized. An understanding of SMART-economy in a narrow (as part of SMART-city) and broad sense (as a set of economic relations) is proposed. The main processes that determine the emergence of SMART-economy as an ecosystem are identified and disclosed. Digitalization (spread of ICT), institutionalization (penetration of ICT into public administration), urbanization (unprecedented growth of urban population and large cities), greening (increasing attention to environmental issues) and socialization (increasing the importance of solving social problems of the population) all contribute to the emergence of new quality of ecosystems. Based on the data, the trend of increasing the share of urban population in recent years is revealed, the data on the population of the largest cities in the world are given. The increasing in urban population highlights the problems of using ICT to solve the problems of greening, socialization, institutionalization in large cities.

The Covid-19 pandemic that has hit the world, including Indonesia, requires taking a stand in preventing wider transmission, including the education sector. In this regard, the Ministry of Education and Culture has taken a firm stance through several circular letters relating to education policies in the emergency period of the spread of Covid-19. The distance learning process is a solution that is not yet optimal in its implementation. There are things that must be considered in this distance learning, among others, the quality of teacher resources must be improved, both in terms of content and methodology as well as in terms of the use of information technology. In addition, students are also less active in participating in this distance learning, both due to an unstable internet network and in terms of providing a limited internet quota. The purpose of writing this article is to study and understand the problems in learning activities during a pandemic, namely distance learning so that students can participate actively and interestingly. This study used a qualitative and observative approach. The results of this study prove that distance learning (PJJ) during the Covid-19 pandemic caused various responses and changes to the learning system that could affect the learning process and the level of development of students in responding to the material presented.

One of the important environmental issues is the quality of surface waters in the world. Poland belongs to countries with a low quality of the inland waters. The sanitary condition of the five water reservoirs of south-east Poland was analyzed. Water and sediment samples were incubated on the selective and/or differential media. High concentrations of many common and pathogenic microbial indicators were shown in those samples. Those reservoirs are used by people, especially during summer. Because of the high epidemiological risk, detailed analysis of all inland waters should be performed routinely.

Through exploratory research, the purpose of this study was to discuss such “gaps” through their identification and discussion. The study reveals that access to the vacancy and the permanence of the child in this stage of education poses as one of the challenges the reduction of the disparities in access, especially for socioeconomic reasons. It is known that children with families with less or no purchasing power have been left out of this right. The study revealed that the municipalities need to expand the offer of care, without marginalizing the quality of services offered, not only providing access, but also ensuring full-time permanence. Keywords: Early childhood education.
