Ambrosiaster, an anonymous Roman exegete of the 4th century, known for a number of commentaries on certain passages and books of Holy Scripture. His largest work is the corpus of the XIII Commentaries on the Epistles of St. Paul, among which the central place is occupied by the interpretation of the epistle of St. Paul to the Romans. The question of literary influence on the formation of the style and ideas of Ambrosiaster remains still not entirely clear. And although there are quite a lot of studies on the literary connections of the studied author with other Latin writers, there are practically no works on his connections with Eastern exegetes. At the same time, some scholars note the similarities between the exegetical approach and some ideas of Ambrosiaster with the tradition of the Antiochian school. This article attempts to systematize information about the literary connections and dependence of Ambrosiaster, and also describes the results of a comparative analysis of the interpretations of the Roman exegete and Diodorus of Tarsus on the epistle of St. Paul to the Romans. The conclusion is made about the necessity and prospects of a deeper study of the literary interdependence of Diodorus of Tarsus and Ambrosiaster.

The present paper attempts to map up the spatial world of Hamlet through the comparative analysis of both the emblematic and idiosyncratic features of Hamlet space. The play's unique position in the Shakespeare canon, its central place in Shake-space, is largely due to the phenomenological as well as hermeneutical complexity of its spatial structure. Hamlet in this respect is the most controversial representative of the established Shakespearean practice of charging space and its constituents (place, location) - both in the physical, metaphorical and conceptual sense - up with distinguished dramaturgical agency. The spatial design of the play takes shape and gain "habitation" through all the major compositional elements of tragedy in manifold local correspondences of plot, character, language, thought and scenery. In the play of all-pervading duplicities the double agency of tragic space is in full accord with all the other constituents of the tragic experience. It is the primary and primordial signifier and signified, agent and instrument of order, stability, constancy and continuity - the repository of tradition as much as the most authentic and expressive instrument of voicing the characteristically interrogative mood and profoundly sceptical mind of the times, the age of its making.

The paper examines the peculiarities of the reception of the artistic experience of F.M. Dostoevsky by the German writer H. Böll at the level of the figurative system of the novel “Billiards at half-past nine”. A comprehensive comparative analysis of the images of Makar Dolgoruky and Shrella allows us to reveal a number of artistic similarities between these characters, manifested both in terms of character disclosure (the presence in both characters such qualities as humility, insight, moral hardness, religiosity) as well as in the aspect of artistic functions (the role they play as a moral guide for central characters). This confirms the fact that in this work there are signs of the literary influence of F.M. Dostoevsky on the creative style of H. Böll. At the same time, the problem of a positive hero in the novel “Billiards at half-past nine” is developed on the material of the German post-war reality in close connection with the historical and political context. The German writer creates an original image of a distinctive character, imbued with special symbolism.

ABSTRACTThis paper addresses the issue of corporate sustainability. It examines why achieving sustainability is becoming an increasingly vital issue for society and organisations, defines sustainability and then outlines a set of phases through which organisations can move to achieve increasing levels of sustainability. Case studies are presented of organisations at various phases indicating the benefits, for the organisation and its stakeholders, which can be made at each phase. Finally the paper argues that there is a marked contrast between the two competing philosophies of neo-conservatism (economic rationalism) and the emerging philosophy of sustainability. Management schools have been strongly influenced by economic rationalism, which underpins the traditional orthodoxies presented in such schools. Sustainability represents an urgent challenge for management schools to rethink these traditional orthodoxies and give sustainability a central place in the curriculum.
