Background: Pronuclear assessment appears to have the ability to distinguish good and bad embryos in the zygote stage, but paradoxical results were obtained in clinical studies. This situation might be caused by the robust qualitative detection of the development of dynamic pronuclei. Here,we aim to establish a quantitative pronuclear measurement method by applying expert experience deep learning from large annotated datasets. Methods: Convinced handle-annotated 2PN images(13419) were used for deep learning then corresponded errors were recorded through handle check for subsequent parameters adjusting. We used 790 embryos with 52479 PN images from 155 patients for analysis the area of pronuclei and the preimplantation genetic test results.Establishment of the exponential fitting equation and the key coefficient β1 was extracted from the model for quantitative analysis for pronuclear(PN) annotation and automatic recognition. Findings: Based on the female original PN coefficient β1,the chromosome normal rate in the blastocyst with biggest PN area is much higher than that of the blastocyst with smallest PN area(58.06% vs.45.16%, OR=1.68[1.07-2.64];P=0.031).After adjusting coefficient β1 by the first three frames which high variance of outlier PN areas was removed, coefficient β1 at 12 hours and at 14 hours post-insemination,similar but stronger evidence was obtained. All these discrepancies resulted from the female propositus in the PGT(SR) subgroup and smaller chromosomal errors. Conclusion(s): The results suggest that detailed analysis of the images of embryos could improve our understanding of developmental biology. Funding: None

Through a comparative analysis of the images and conceptions of the formation of the personality of Hans Schnier and Arkady Dolgoruky, the paper reveals the signs of a literary dialogue between H. Böll and F. M. Dostoevsky in terms of disclosing the theme of upbringing in the novels ‘The Clown’ and ‘The Adolescent’. It was found that in both works the process of the formation of the characters and world views of the central characters is shown unevenly through the representation of the key moments of their biography which evoked a strong emotional response from the characters. In the above-mentioned novels, similar methods of psychologism are used: confession, recollection. At the same time, H. Böll endows his text with more acute social problems than F. M. Dostoevsky. His hero is categorical in his assessments and polemic in relation to the society around him, the morality of the majority of whose representatives he not only finds unacceptable, but also castigates. Based on this, we can conclude that H. Böll reconstructs the model of the hero’s personal development in the novel ‘The Clown’ by not only taking into account the traditions of the Russian classic author, but also in the context of sharp criticism of the realities of his contemporary society.

<p>The application of aesthetics and techniques from photography into computer generated images leads audiences to read images of a virtual space similarly to images of a physical space. This phenomenon has allowed for a continuation in the cultural fascination with photorealism, and cases of audiences mistaking images from the virtual space as ‘real’. This thesis looks in detail at how the boundaries between the virtual and physical space shift when approaching the virtual space of a video game from the perspective of a photographer, rather than a player. It looks in detail at how audiences interpret images of the virtual space of video games when displayed in a form reminiscent of art photography. Photographs of the virtual and physical spaces were produced for online surveys and an exhibition to test audience perceptions of image origin. Participants were also asked to try and distinguish photorealism in the landscape form, urban form, and material form. Technical analysis of audience responses, combined with textual analysis of the images themselves, helped in determining the types of content, as well as styles of photography that were used by the audience as indexes to reality in the virtual space. In some cases, the technical theory could explain the thought process of the participants, however in other cases there were dominant factors that more significantly impacted participant interpretations, despite what theory suggested. This highlighted the blur that is emerging between the physical and virtual spaces. There were difficulties in designing tests that could identify and isolate the elements that influenced perceptions of photorealism, due to the complex, and sometimes unexpected, ways in which people made judgments about the images. A variety of factors and areas for future research arose from the tests, including using the medium of photography to document the ever-changing landscape of the virtual space.</p>

Abstract—The last activation of the Koryakskii volcano in 2008–2009 was accompanied by intense fumarolic and seismic activity. Volcanic activity peaked in March–April 2009 when ash plume rose to a height of 5.5 km and extended laterally over more than 600 km. To understand the dynamics of the volcanic processes and to forecast the further course of the events, it is relevant to establish whether the eruption was associated with a rise of magma to beneath the volcanic edifice or caused by fracturing of the volcano’s basement and penetration of groundwater into a high temperature zone. Based on the analysis of the images from the Japanese satellite ALOS-1 using satellite radar interferometry methods, the slope displacements of the Koryakskii volcano during its last activation have been estimated for the first time. The displacements reach 25 cm and cannot be explained by the formation of a layer of volcanic ash deposits or by the slope processes. The most likely cause of the displacements should be recognized to be the intrusion of magmatic material into the volcano edifice with the formation of a fracture with its lower edge at a depth of 0.5 km above sea level, with a size of 1.0 and 2.4 km along the strike and dip, respectively, and with a dip angle from 45° to 60°. Therefore, the processes taking place beneath the volcano can be threatening to the nearby localities and infrastructure and require continuous monitoring.

Abstract We investigate non-uniformity at SiO2/SiC interfaces by time-resolved scanning nonlinear dielectric microscopy, which permits the simultaneous nanoscale imaging of interface defect density (Dit) and differential capacitance (dC/dV) at insulator-semiconductor interfaces. Here we perform the cross correlation analysis of the images with spatially non-uniform clustering distributions reported previously. We show that Dit images are not correlated with the simultaneous dC/dV images significantly but with the difference image between the two dC/dV images taken with different voltage sweep directions. The results indicate that the dC/dV images visualize the non-uniformity of the total interface charge density and the difference images reflect that of Dit at a particular energy range.

The subject of this research is the behavior model of the characters in modern American literature. The goal lies in examination of the key attributes of &ldquo;toxicity&rdquo; as an element of artistic world resembled in modern American literature. The object of this research is the prose of Chuck Palahniuk. It is established that &ldquo;toxicity&rdquo; is one of the plotline components for building the characters of the heroes in modern American literature. The conducted analysis of the images of heroes and the components of artistic world of C. Palahniuk&rsquo;s prose allows concluding that &ldquo;toxicity&rdquo; is not only the binding element in the artistic world of American literature, but also a construct that forms the dynamic development of the heroes. The scientific novelty consists in the fact that this article is first to analyze &ldquo;toxicity&rdquo; as an artistic element of modern American literary texts. Prior to that, &ldquo;toxicity&rdquo; as a phenomenon was viewed from the perspective of psychological, sociological, and philosophical research. Therefore, the study of the phenomenon of toxicity in literature is of particular relevance due to its interdisciplinarity. The author believes that the types ad peculiarities of &ldquo;toxicity&rdquo; as an element of the artistic world in modern American literature, as well as interaction of other structural elements should be also viewed on the example of other works of modern American literature. The characteristic features that unite the works as a transgressive prose should be determined and compared.

The results of a comparative analysis of the images of giants in the mythological traditions of geographically close unrelated peoples — the Ob Ugrians (Khanty and Mansi) and the Zabolotny Tatars are presented in the article. It is noted that the assimilation and leveling of the features of the giants images in original cultures did not occur, despite the fact that the myths of the West Siberian peoples were subjected to processes of mutual influence. Particular attention is paid to the relationship between the external features and the origin of mythological characters (giants) with the specifics of the geoclimatic landscapes inhabited by the peoples that form the epic. The novelty of the research is seen in the fact that for the first time the genesis, attributes and functions of the mythological heroes of unrelated peoples living in adjacent territories — the Ob Ugrians and the Zabolotny Tatars — are compared. The relevance of the study is due to the fact that the image of a giant has significant prospects in the reconstruction of an ethnic cultural space, since, being one of the most archaic characters in myths, at the same time it remains a part of modern cultural consciousness. The author’s vision of the common and unique features of giants as distinctive characters of the Ob-Ugric and Siberian Tatar mythological systems is presented in the article. The research materials were myths and legends of the peoples of Western Siberia, records of oral stories of the indigenous inhabitants of the region, collected by the authors during field expeditions.

The major desideratum of the screening action of the hip dysplasia is the early discovery of the disease and its highlighting at an early stage. Hip dysplasia is interpreted as an abnormal and / or defective development of the hip (hip joint), which can cause excessive wear of the articular cartilage due to the support of body weight leading to the development of arthritis, often called degenerative joint disease or simply osteoarthritis, these terms being used randomly. All these morphofunctional changes can be detected early, by different methods of observation, which necessarily involve X-ray radiological examination, performing a complex analysis of the images studied, according to the recommendations of various international organizations such as FCI Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI) - score which includes measuring the Norberg angle, the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA), the PennHIP Program - which involves measuring hip laxity, etc.

Purpose An analysis of the images in music education textbooks for primary education has shown how the images do not fully reflect the human diversity present in the classroom and, therefore, continue to perpetuate positions that can lead to racism. The purpose of this paper is the analysis of the images to carried out has demonstrated how little progress has been made in the representation of diversity and how, in the 21st century, stereotypes continue to persist in the representation of cultural diversity. Design/methodology/approach The quantitative and qualitative data collected after analysing more than 2,600 images have shown that despite the considerable increase in the use of images in music textbooks, typical clichés about what instruments are played in the world and how those who play them are represented are still present. Findings The results also show how the images reflect the migratory flows experienced in each country. All of this has led to important conclusions, among which the importance of human diversity in images for students to normalise cultural diversity from and with musical educational materials should be highlighted. Research limitations/implications The analysis of the 2,686 images showed how the use of the human figure has evolved up to the last educational reform. Firstly, the analysis of images focused on the evolution (year) of the presence of diversity (ethnicity) in the musical groupings represented (orchestra, band, choir, soloist or chamber group), as well as the evolution with respect to the type of instrument represented. Practical implications With the aim of analysing the evolution in the representation of diversity in music textbooks, the authors searched the most important publishing houses in Spain. To analyse the evolution of the visual depiction of diversity in music education textbooks in light of legislative and social changes related to race, the authors constructed several variables under the category labelled “Ethnicity”. Social implications The images analysed, especially those included under the Organic General Law on the Educational System of 4 October 1990 and the Organic Law 2/2006 on Education of 3 May, tended to pair certain instruments with people with physical characteristics associated with particular ethnic profiles. In terms of musical activities, the main results can be summarised as follows: although the completely homogenous depiction of White Europeans in musical activities has given way to modestly more diverse representation, images of composition are still dominated by this group. Originality/value The authors’ analysis has led to the following conclusions, which demonstrate the need to continue the progress seen in the past several decades. The representation of human diversity in music textbooks can be considered a reality, not only in terms of the instruments with which they are represented but also in terms of their representation in other situations depicted in these textbooks. The progressive increase of images in music textbooks reflects the culturally diverse society of the national territory. However, the increase in this representation is not as considerable as might be expected. The typified representation of instruments associated with certain physical characteristics is starting to wane.
