Zechariah 1:1-6 summarizes a speech to the people that reports the failure of the previous generations to heed the message of the prophets who God has sent while successfully challenging the current generation to turn to YHWH. The eight visions of the second block (1:7-6:15) share common compositional elements, but they also show evidence of later reworking. The third block, Zechariah 7-8, constitutes a collection of short sayings dated approximately two years after temple construction began. Zechariah 6:1-8 could be divided into two sections. First is disclosure of the vision (6:1-4) and the last one is the disclosure and explanation of the vision (6:5-8). Particularly, in this first subparagraph, Zechariah seems to present his thoughts in chiasmus. This chiasmus has a structural function which often a chiastic couplet is used to both open and close a stanza or poem. Zechariah introduced his eighth vision with four verbs, which are thematic words.

Based on the transactional and salutogenic perspectives, we explored individual profiles that integrate psychosocial factors and compositional elements of the built home environment. Adults with different socio-demographic characteristics completed several self-report measures on psychological factors (personality traits, self-efficacy, mental health, and happiness) and architectural elements constituting the ideal home environment. Adopting an individual-centered perspective, three distinct intra-individual psycho-architectural (person-environment) profiles were found with different compositional preferences and psychosocial characteristics in terms of functioning, health, and well-being: endopathic (characterized by higher levels of psychosocial resources and well-being indicating a highly adapted and successful profile, and architectural preferences corresponding to their identities and experiences—expression through spaces), assimilative (characterized by average levels in all regulatory parameters indicating moderately adaptive individuals, and architectural preferences of spaces created in interactive processes—introjection of spaces), and additive individuals (characterized by a comparatively dysfunctional, poorer psychosocial profile, and architectural preferences in line with provoking a restorative effect—change with spaces). An awareness of the psychosocial features of the users for whom the homes are built can help in designing spaces to inhabit that are adapted to them for an enhancement of their overall well-being. Therefore, a better understanding of the interconnections between psychology and architecture will help in designing healthy spaces.

AbstractMeniscal tears are a common orthopedic injury, yet their healing is difficult to assess post-operatively. This impedes clinical decisions as the healing status of the meniscus cannot be accurately determined non-invasively. Thus, the objectives of this study were to explore the utility of a goat model and to use quantitative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques, histology, and biomechanical testing to assess the healing status of surgically induced meniscal tears. Adiabatic T1ρ, T2, and T2* relaxation times were quantified for both operated and control menisci ex vivo. Histology was used to assign healing status, assess compositional elements, and associate healing status with compositional elements. Biomechanical testing determined the failure load of healing lesions. Adiabatic T1ρ, T2, and T2* were able to quantitatively identify different healing states. Histology showed evidence of diminished proteoglycans and increased vascularity in both healed and non-healed menisci with surgically induced tears. Biomechanical results revealed that increased healing (as assessed histologically and on MRI) was associated with greater failure load. Our findings indicate increased healing is associated with greater meniscal strength and decreased signal differences (relative to contralateral controls) on MRI. This indicates that quantitative MRI may be a viable method to assess meniscal tears post-operatively.

Introduction. The article deals with the prologue to the cycle of songs recorded from jangarchi Dava Shavaliev. In 1939, the famous Mongolist A. Burdukov visited Kalmykia and recorded the epic repertoire of Dava Shavaliev that consisted of a prologue and four songs. The songs of Dava Shavaliev recorded by the scholar were not published during the latter’s lifetime. His daughter, Mongolist T. Burdukova, made a copy of her father’s manuscript (March-April 1977). Goals. The work aims to study the prologue as an important compositional part of Dava Shavaliev’s epic repertoire. Results. The latter is yet another confirmation that Kalmyk rhapsodes — when reciting the Jangar — made use of a special expositional part called the prologue (Kalm. orshl). Being a traditional epic formation characteristic of the cyclical heroic epic of Jangar, the prologue to Dava Shavaliev’s epic cycle consists of constant themes. Proceeding from his knowledge of the epic composition principles, the jangarchi builds his narratives on a certain basis comprising structural and compositional elements, such as a description of the palace; magtal (Kalm. ‘glorification’) to Lord Jangar; magtal to Queen Shavdal; ones to the warhorse and Khongor; and a description of the palace feast. The jangarchi makes extensive use of the traditional and standardized set of poetic formulas, stylistic and compositional techniques. The observance of the established tradition kept the rhapsode in a clearly delineated tunnel of an epic narrative, without hindering the emergence of individual features. The epic repertoire of jangarchi Dava Shavaliev attests to that the Jangar epic was then a living cultural phenomenon, an important link in the epic tradition developed by many generations of rhapsodes whose talents and performing skills made the heroic epic a greatest monument of the Kalmyk people’s spiritual heritage.

Mannerism was the bridge between late Renaissance and the Baroque between 1520 and the 1600s. This movement was characterized by the destabilization of compositional elements through repetition and expressiveness, regardless of their function. This phase in history echoes a trend in contemporary architecture based on the repetition of functionless elements that constitute a ‘green aesthetic’ in detriment of sustainable systems. Ecomannerism is a conceptual vehicle to identify and evaluate iconic contemporary projects that are positioned between ecologies of practice and ecologies of symbols, which are directly related to the sustainable performance of the built environment.

The following article presents a detailed analysis of compositional techniques in the orchestral work Slovenica for Brass, Percussion and Strings (1976) by Alojz Srebotnjak. It discusses the composer‘s intertwinment of folklore elements with the sonority of compositional processes in the 20th century. Throughout all three sentences Srebotnjak uses multiple linking compositional elements that he complexly intertwines on different levels of musical texture. The structure is also tightly connected to the concept of constructing different musical textures, melodical patterns, orchestral and dinamic constrasts, and harmonic systems.

As the author of the article claims, the metatheatricality in Eugene Vodolazkin’s drama The Parodist is constituted by the multiplication of levels of presented reality and its specific modelling, exposing the “derivativness” and “fictionality”.The multi-layered reality is generated by various, usually perfidious, realizations of the concept of “theatre in theatre” (e.g. thanks to outright and allusive intertextuality, implicitly inscribed in the text of the drama); appearance of specific structural and compositional elements and the simultaneity resembling a film technique of parallel editing; breaking down the stage illusion and maximising the theatrum mundi concept; a play generated within a dramatic plot by the heroes themselves; and metaparody of artistic issues in the dramatic dialogue.

The article considers the main features of the composition of advertising texts in the German-speaking environment. The search-material is based on German language women's clothing advertising from popular German online stores and magazines (e.g., "Kenwood", "ALDI", "KIK", and etc.). The aim of this research is to study the functioning of compositional blocks in the texts of German advertising and the features of advertising texts within the German mass media discourse. The main compositional elements of the advertising text are characterized and the lexical-semantic analysis of each of its compositional parts is given. The following methods were used: the method of linguistic observation with the following procedures of systematization and classification of linguistic facts. Structural-semantic analysis was used to determine the features of the compositional structure of the advertising text. Despite the fact that advertising texts are small in volume, it is interesting to study their compositional structure, lexical and semantic content of each compositional component. The composition of the advertising text is optional and depends mainly on the pragmatic goals of each advertising text. It is important so speak about the semantics and pragmatics of compositional blocks. However, there is a certain structural pattern for creating advertising text, which takes into account all possible goals and intentions of the author of the advertisement. The article pays special attention to slogans and titles, as important compositional elements of the advertising text, because they perform both informative and motivational functions. The reader learns direct information about the products being sold from the main compositional block of the advertising text. The final part of advertisement has also its pragmatic purposes and types of manifestation. The study of advertising texts leads to the conclusion that the composition of advertising text is dynamic and depends not only on the purpose of creation, but also on the model chosen for its creation.
