This paper demonstrates how PHP web service technology can be used in mobile application. Web service testing can be done manually by creating php client file that call the SOAP web service. Testing can also be done using SoapUI, an open source software that can be used to do functional testing on web service. This paper is proof of concept that PHP Web Service can be used as data provider for application that need dynamic data. This paper proposed PHP Client Layer as an additional layer to simplify the web service calling from mobile application. Index Terms - web service, php, json, SOAP, SoapUI

An application of Bluetooth beacons is here proposed to perform real-time tracking of the locations and movements of airport staff through different monitored airport infrastructure elements, such as rooms, terminals or boarding gates. With respect to this, the aim is to provide an efficient location service of airport workers and users through an indoor tracking controller based on fuzzy logic. For this purpose, a mobile application and a Web service have been implemented. This location knowledge may be decisive while performing common airport procedures or managing airport resources, staff or emergency situations aiming at ensuring a short response time. Likewise, the proposed system integrates an operational module of coordination to facilitate the communications of users at the airport. Besides, particular attention has been paid to the security of communication between mobile devices and the Web service, both regarding secure authentication of users and protection of confidentiality of information exchanged between airport staff.

Web services technology is becoming increasingly ubiquitous and gaining rapid adoption due to its support for integration of distributed autonomous components. Testing is necessary to assure the performance and functional correctness of web services. Many commercial as well as opensource tools are available today for web service testing. In this paper, we present results of a brief survey of web service testing tools. The study will provide an informative overview and may help in selection and use of appropriate testing tools.

Software testing is an important technique that used to assure the quality of Web application. Test case automated generation is a crucial aspect of Web Service testing. Test case automated generation for Web Service includes test date and operation sequence generation. To resolve the problem that operation sequence couldn’t be generated automatically, this paper presents a new method. Firstly, a directed graph which used to express the relationship among the operations of Web Service is constructed, and then an operation sequences generation algorithm base on the directed graph is proposed. The redundancy of operation sequences is checked in this algorithm in order to avoid redundant test cases generation. A case study shows that the method is feasible.

A web service is a service offered by a device electronically to communicate with other electronic device using the World wide web. Smartphone is an electronic device that almost everyone has, especially student and parent for getting information about the school. In BINUS School Serpong mobile application, web services used for getting data from web server like student and menu data. Problem faced by BINUS School Serpong today is the time-consuming application update when using the native application while the application updates are very frequent. To resolve this problem, BINUS School Serpong mobile application will use the web service. This article showed the usage of web services with XML for retrieving data of student. The result from this study is that by using web service, smartphone can retrieve data consistently between multiple platforms.

This paper mainly studies the design and implement of mobile meter reading system based on SOA. The mobile terminal can save offline power reading data in its local database and communicate online recorded data with the server through Web service interface based on the internet. The Web service components perform interaction with the database server. This system is developed by using programming language Java and embedded database SQLite on Android platform. This mobile application can be available to download customers' data from the server or update new meter reading data to the server and then the operators can accomplish their works conveniently during the interviewing with the customers without going back to the office.
