Along with the increasing needs of people inMakassar city for the mode of transportation, the number of thegrowth of motor vehicles that operate on the road becomes largerthan the growth of the number of roads built. This has causedsome problems in the transportation sector. In addition tocongestion problems, problems arise from road surface damagedue to increasing traffic loads that must be borne by the roadsurface. To anticipate this, some strategic streets in the city ofMakassar then designed by using a rigid pavement that hasgreater strength in carrying the burden. Another problem thatarises from the growing number of motor vehicles that operateon the road is greater than the growth of the number of roadsbuilt is the higher levels of noise pollution or traffic noise. Noise issourced from the sound of a vehicle engine and the frictionbetween the vehicle tire and the road surface. So that roads withrigid surface pavement surfaces that have a rougher surfacetexture, potentially lead to higher noise levels. This study aims todetermine how much noise levels that occur in roads that userigid pavement in the city of Makassar. The road segments, suchas Jl. Abd. Dg. Sirua, Jl. Batua Raya and Jl. Adhyaksa. The toolused to measure traffic noise is the Sound Level Meter (SLM).The survey was conducted for 1 day for each of the roadsegments reviewed. The data taken are the level data of flatnessof road surface, vehicle speed data and traffic noise level data.Data processing is done by analyzing the relationship between thefactors that affect the noise with the noise level that occurs on theroad with rigid pavement. The results of this study are expectedto provide information about how big the effect of vehicle speedon the noise level that arises on the road with rigid pavement.Keyword--Noise; speed of vehicle; Rigid Pavement

Noise pollution, as a major environmental problem, is present in Banja Luka. The measured values exceeded the level of noise allowed, which is a great problem. Evaluation of the noise levels was carried out in the streets in the area with health institutions. Objectives of this research were to evaluate the environmental noise pollution in the City of Banja Luka due to traffic noise and to compare the measured noise levels in the city with legislation and to establish the connection between noise and the number of vehicles. Correlation between the noise level and number of vehicles was positive and significant during the study period (r=0.89). It is confirmed that, with the increase of the number of vehicle, the noise level increases, i.e. the decrease in the number of vehicle decreases the noise level.

The road was a means of land transport is very important to the social relations and economic goods and services, and with a population that is increasing in every year to year, increasing the number of vehicles passing on the road that there is, therefore, in need planning a safe way according to the function, volume, and nature of traffic. Road repairs cost a lot and this action is felt not quite right because remedies can not survive by age plans and in kutif of IDN Times in 2019 that the condition damages the highway in the district of Karawang based on data from the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Khanewal district, along with the road status 1937.53 kilometers of district roads in poor condition. (IDN Times, 2019). This study was conducted to assess how much influence the volume of vehicles to the damage occurred on roads Badami karawang at STA 0 + 000-0 + 500 and STA 2 + 250-2 + 750, to examine the above problems by analyzing data from LHR and road damage the method of Highways, then further by looking at the correlation between the volume of vehicles on the road destruction by using SPSS and to increase the strength of rigid pavement using cement concrete road pavement planning 2003 is an additional layer (overlay) using the rigid pavement. From the analysis and discussion get Simultaneous Effect Hypothesis Test results that the Sig. (0,000) <α (0.05) and f count (35.671)> F table (3.89) H0 is rejected. It can be concluded that the simultaneous effect of the Light Vehicle Road damage of 33.8%, the simultaneous effect of the Heavy Vehicle Road damage amounted to 47.7%, Motorcycles simultaneous effect on road damage by 12.1% and the simultaneous effect of Motor Vehicles not to road damage by 14.2%, the result of the identification of the type and class of road damage indicates that the need for administration of additional layer (overlay) as a treatment for damage to roads, based on the analysis of the design used road repair method with a design life of 10 years, namely: (Overlay) Rigid Pavement (Rigid Pavement) as thick as 18 cm .and of analysts earn fees at cost (overlay) Rigid Pavement (Rigid Pavement) Rp. 9,114,626,20 / segments.

The main objective of this study was to evaluate the variation in traffic equivalent noise levels as distance from the road intersection increases. To achieve this objective, traffic volume and equivalent noise level were monitored at 40 signalized intersections in Amman, the capital of Jordan. An integrated sound level meter (ISLM) was used to measure 1 min equivalent noise level along all approaches of the evaluated intersections. A total of 3326 noise measurements were performed. The collected data were analyzed to evaluate the variation of noise levels as distance from the intersection increases. The results indicated that equivalent noise levels were significantly affected by distance from the signal stop line. The equivalent noise levels at distances 50 and 100 m from the intersection were found to be 1.5 to 2.0 dB less than those at 0 m. While at 200, 250, and 300 m from the intersection, the monitored equivalent noise levels were found to be 3.8 to 4 dB higher than that at 0 m. At distances farther than 250 m, the measured equivalent noise levels tend to keep constant value of equivalent noise level as distance increased.Key words: noise, traffic, intersection, environment, pollution.

Transverse rumble strips (TRS) are widely used by local authority in Malaysia to reduce vehicle speed and alert drivers to any changes on the road. The objective of this study was to evaluate the anticipated community reaction due to the external noise produced by the TRS. The evaluations were carried out through the noise levels measurement, calculation of the TNI and anticipated community response analysis. Measurements of noise level were taken at two locations of a rural roadway that have received complaints from the public i.e Kampung Pengkalan Raja (KPR) and Kilometer 52 (KM52) of Johor Bahru-Pontian federal road, in Pontian District, Johor. Results showed that TRS can increase the level of traffic noise, TNI values, and annoyance response in community. TNI values of 126dB(A) and 119dB(A) for KPR and KM52, respectively were exceeded suggested level of TNI for planning purpose of 74 dB (A) for 3% annoyance from the social surveys. Anticipated annoyance response analysis also indicated that resident in both locations received strong to very strong impact that can lead to vigorous community reaction and this was in agreement with the real reaction from the community.

The study was carried out to ascertain the level of noise pollution at different locations in Tangail municipal area. For this purpose noise levels were measured at different locations at different periods of the day. At all the locations the level of noise were found to be higher than the acceptable level. The intensity of noise was found lower with increasing distance from the road side. The noise level on the main road near hospital, shopping center and bazars was above the standard level recommended by MoEF. From the survey motor vehicles were found as the main cause of high noise level. The most common problems with high noise level were found to increased heart beat, drowsiness, headache and hearing impairment. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.3329/bjsr.v26i1-2.20228 Bangladesh J. Sci. The modern urban environment, with the development of industry, the growth of the vehicle's number on the roads, and the increase in the density of buildings, is increasingly capable of negatively affect the health and well-being of the city's population. Among the factors influencing the environment is noise pollution, namely man-made noise - unwanted and harmful sounds created as a result of human activities. Today, noise is one of the most common factors of pollution among all others. The most common source of noise pollution is transport, including cars and trucks, buses, railways, airplanes, etc. The negative phenomenon of traffic noise is that almost everyone is greatly affected. This can often be accompanied by other harmful factors, such as vibration. According to scientific researches, noise can cause irritation under constant acoustic exposure. As a result, there are sleep disorders, decreased mental capacity, and the development of stress, and stress development in humans. Traffic noise is created from the operation of engines, the friction of wheels with the road surface, brakes, and aerodynamic features of vehicles, etc. In general, the level of traffic noise depends on such basic indicators as the intensity, speed, and composition of the traffic flow. Therefore, an important task is the study of traffic noise, its measurement, the establishment of appropriate dependencies, and further evaluation of the results. Knowing the level of noise generated by vehicles, further measures to reduce it are possible, such as redistribution of traffic flows on the road network, speed limits, improving the quality of the road surface, the use of basic means of reducing noise pollution, the use of noise protection devices, etc. Based on this, the negative impact of this phenomenon on the human body and the environment, in general, can be reduced.

Traffic noise is a major noise source in the study of environmental noise. Various noise generation mechanisms depict different spectral features. Some are wide-band noise, such as engine knocks; some have signature frequencies, such as gear transmissions; and some are in a certain frequency region, such as tire/road noise. These spectral features affect the façade design of a building in order to achieve sufficient exterior noise insulation and satisfactory interior noise due to the traffic noise. ISO standard 11819-1 specifies the measurement procedure of statistical pass-by tests. There are three ranges of vehicle speed: slow, medium, and fast. However, it requires that the vehicle must maintain constant speed when passing by the test point. Unfortunately, a vehicle tends to generate higher noise when accelerating, especially at low frequencies. Therefore, it is necessary to distinguish the noise levels at an intersection versus middle-points of the road between two intersections. Presumably, the traffic noise levels at an intersection would be higher. This research measured the traffic noise at various locations of different speed limits. Statistical analyses were conducted to compare the spectra at these locations. This is also an effort to refine the noise map.

Abstract A growing number of cars and trucks moving around on our roads contributes to the rise of noise level to which people in their immediate vicinity are exposed. The regulations in force impose on road managers the obligation to limit road noise to the permissible level in compliance with the applicable regulations. The obligation to ensure protection against traffic noise applies equally to newly designed roads and to the existing ones which are being extended or modernized. This type of noise is generated principally by the interaction between tires and road pavement. Therefore, the design and construction of quiet pavements plays a very important role in reducing environmental noise and may in some cases be an alternative to other noise reduction methods. The article undertakes the task of assessing the impact of grinding technology and grooving technology of the existing concrete pavement on the reduction of noise propagation in the environment. The article involves the tests of road pavement made of cement concrete. The tests were carried out on the road section before and after the above-mentioned works, using the method similar to Close Proximity Method (CPX) and the noise measurement method at road edge at a distance of 10.0 m and height of 4.0 m. The obtained results were illustrated with a noise range map for the modified and standard road pavements.

Daily problems affecting citizens, not only in Pec, but also in other cities in the Republic of Kosovo, are closely linked to urban mobility, which have played a very important role in recent years. The citizens are faced with various problems, a large number of vehicles, low road network communication capacity, lack of adequate signalization and many other problems. The long columns of vehicles they encounter daily, especially in peak hours on the road segments, consistently come to an unhappy one and lead to dissatisfaction of the car drivers. To address these problems, they must use a broad network traffic programming that is based on appropriate strategies, infrastructures and policy solutions to be considered as an effective tool for solving problems in urban traffic. Special attention should be paid to checking the intersection (with or without light signaling), because if these intersections are well designed, they can show improvement in traffic. In fact, crossroads of road networks are those in which there are conflicts between different traffic waves, leading to delays and accidents, reducing service levels and traffic safety in these areas. Traffic leaders and experts in Peja have been working on the development of road infrastructure in the municipality for years, but the number of inhabitants has risen and the number of vehicles that adversely affects the functionality of road communications has increased. Identification and description of the problem, the increase in the number of vehicles in the town of Peja affected the reduction of capacity and service levels, reduced vehicle speed, a large number of accidents and a decrease in the level of safety. After analyzing the current situation, the best solution for solving the problem of vehicle movement in the city of Pec will be proposed. In this regard, it is important to analyze the capacity and level of service on the roads to identify the key factors that affect it, and then intervene to improve them. The purpose of the research, the main purpose of the master's thesis is to study and compile the characteristics and level of service of the intersection at the level of illumination and the circular intersection. In this thesis will be treated: 1. Roofs in the level without a signal of illumination, 2. Levels of transitions with illuminated signaling and 3. Circular passages (circular crossroads).
