Like a growing number of individuals, the author believes that business is facing the same bifurcation point physics was facing before the development of quantum mechanics – trying to fit a Newtonian explanation onto a non-Newtonian problem. Given that perspective business needs a system-based model not more research and development on its Newtonian practices and beliefs. The focus of this paper focuses is on the development of such a framework. This paper draws on science to identify the necessary requirements for a living system and converts that into a three-entity framework. Through the conversion of this living-system framework the necessary requirements for a living business system are identified. With that, an assortment of currently available system-based business tools and techniques that fulfill most of the requirements of a living business system, are introduced. An approach to implementing these tools and techniques as well as remaining open for the incorporation of other systems-based practices is presented.

The Amazon has a great biodiversity, however in this regions some locations still without no research, showing the need for studies in this localities. The lack of information about the diversity of frogs and the speed of change in the landscape that have been taking place on the planet, demonstrates the urgent need to preserve the remaining resources. In this adverse scenario, live frogs that are sensitive to changes in natural forest areas, and are recognized as Bioindicator of environmental integrity. The present study had scoped to do a survey of the anuran species in a country area, near to the city of Porto Velho (RO). This land, is formed by two separate areas, one classified as secondary forests and the other as pasture area. The sampling was carried out from January to may 2012, using tools and techniques for catch in the night delimited by time, pitfall traps and frogs occasional meetings Were captured 63 specimens of Anurans, distributed in six families, where the richest in species were the Leptodactylidae (n = 6), Hylidae (n = 5), Bufonidae (n = 4), Microhylidae (n = 2), Brachycephalidae (n = 2) and Aromobatidae (n = 2), totaling 21 species identified. The most abundant species were the Leptodactylus chaquensis (n = 12) and Leptodactylus andreae (n = 8). The pasture area exhibited the greatest number of individuals captured with 65.07% of all frogs collected.

Fuel cells have been utilized in certain specialized applications since the 1960’s, however the technology has recently been the focus of a broad research and development effort. The next 10 years will likely produce practical, affordable fuel cells that are applied in fixed power generation, automotive, and even powered bicycle applications. As the fuel cell becomes less of a research curiosity and more of an engineered commodity item, designers need tools to study and optimize the behavior of fuel cells. This paper discusses some of the questions that simulation can help fuel cell designers address.

The chapter clarifies emerging aspects and trends of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) in healthcare through the systematic examination of 162 peer-reviewed articles in business, management, and healthcare disciplines that have been published over a ten-year period from 2004 to January 2014. Every article is analyzed using a scheme of six distinct dimensions including year of publication, journal, applications areas, tools and techniques, benefits and improvements, and research type. The chapter provides significant insights into the state of the art of LSS in healthcare research and clarifies confusion in the literature as to what constitutes LSS role in improving healthcare context.

The framework of the generalized theory of quantum measurement provides some theoretical tools for computing flavor associated energies correlated to the von-Neumann entropy of a composed system. After defining flavor-averaged and flavor-weighted energies, that are respectively supported by nonselective (selective) quantum measurement schemes, the right correlation between the energies of flavor eigenstates and their measurement probabilities can be obtained. Our results from the composed quantum system framework show that the nonselective measurement scheme for computing flavor-weighted energies is consistent with predictions from single-particle quantum mechanics. As an application of our results, through the expressions for neutrino effective mass values, it is straightforwardly verified that cosmological background neutrino energy densities could be obtained from the coherent superposition of mass eigenstates.

The aim: To demonstrate the limitations of pharmacological (chemical) therapy and the atomistic paradigm of science (in particular medicine) on the methodological basis of modern interdisciplinary directions (the theory of dissipative structures, chaos, autopoiesis), quantum mechanics, as well as the basic patterns of oriental medicine. Materials and methods: The principles used in the article include self-organization, emergence, quantum mechanics (the Heisenberg uncertainty principle), the principle of consistency; principles of using coherent millimeter waves of low power, etc. Theoretical methods of analysis and synthesis, idealization, abstraction, induction and deduction are also used. Сonclusions: The concept of “integrable system” is equivalent to the concept of “integral quantum-mechanical system”; Integral quantum-mechanical systems (nuclei, atoms, molecules, living objects) in the ground state are described by periodic wave functions of the type exp (jwt); The traditional paradigm, for the most part, eliminates the qualitative difference between living and dead matter; Any living system functioning as a whole is simultaneously a macroscopic quantum-mechanical object and a millimeter-wave laser.
