In this paper, two novel organic-inorganic hybrid supramolecule compounds {[Cu·L1’·H2O]·(α-Mo8O26)0.5}n 1 and compound {[Cu·L2’·H2O]·(α-Mo8O26)0.5}n 2 have been synthesized [L1’ = 1, 3-bis (4-carboxylpyridine) propane dibromide, L2’ = 1, 4-bis (4-carboxylpyridine) butane dibromide]. Compounds 1 and 2 have been expressly confirmed by PXRD, IR, X-ray single crystal diffraction and TG. Last, the study found that compounds 1 and 2 have obvious adsorption effects on MB and RhB organic dyes, and compound 2 has high adsorption capacity for MB.

The high adsorption capacity of dyes onto the 1T-rich MoS2 samples is due to the strong binding between the hydroxide/carboxyl groups and the 1T active sites. The capacity can be tuned by controlling the ratio between 1T and 2H phases of MoS2 nanosheets.

The Ce-doped UiO-67 nanocrystals were successfully synthesized via a one-step hydrothermal method. Ce doping increases the negative charge on the surface of the material, thus the adsorbent exhibits high adsorption capacity to cationic dyes.

Two novel organic-inorganic hybrid materials {(Hbiz)6[AsIII2AsVMoVI18O62]}·H2O (1, biz = benzimidazole) and (dim)[AsIII2AsVMoVI18O62] [2, dim = 1,6-bis(imidazol)hexane] have been successfully obtained by using the molybdenum arsenate and different N donor organic compounds and determined through X-ray single-crystal diffraction technique. The in vitro cytotoxicity of compounds 1 and 2 was then investigated against three human liver tumor cell lines (SMMC7721, Bel-7402, and MHCC97) by MTT assay. It was found that the two compounds showed potent use as antitumor agents against the aforementioned cell lines.

Removal of dyes through adsorption from wastewater has gained substantial interest in recent years, especially in development of hydrogel based adsorbents, owing to their easy use and economical nature. The aim of the present study was to design a super-adsorbent hydrogel based on sodium styrenesulfonate (NaSS) monomer for removal of dyes like methylene blue (MB). NaSS displays both an aromatic ring and strongly ionic group in its monomer structure that can enhance adsorption capacity. Poly(sodium styrenesulfonate-co-dimethylacrylamide) hydrogels were prepared by solution free radical polymerization using gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA) as crosslinker, creating a highly porous, three-dimensionally crosslinked polymer network contributing to higher swelling ratios of up to 27,500%. These super-adsorbent hydrogels exhibited high adsorption capacity of 1270 mg/g for MB adsorption with above 98% removal efficiency. This is the first report for such a high adsorption capacity for dye absorbance for NaSS-based hydrogels. Additionally, the adsorption kinetics using a pseudo-first-order and the Freundlich adsorption isotherm models for multilayer, heterogeneous adsorption processes has been reported. The adsorbents’ reusability was confirmed through 4 repeated cycles of desorption-adsorption. The results discussed herein illustrate that NaSS based chemistries can be used as an efficient option for removal of organic dyes from contaminated wastewater.

In this work, lignosulfonate intercalated Mg2Al layered double hydroxide was fabricated by coprecipitation method, which was used as a functional adsorbent for removing pyridine from wastewater. The X-ray powder diffraction and Fourier transformed infrared were carried out to investigate the structure of the product. In the removal process, the as-prepared lignosulfonate intercalated Mg2Al layered double hydroxide sample exhibited good adsolubilization property for pyridine, with maximum capacity of 400.8 mg g−1 in initial pyridine concentration of 400 mg/l and the removal percentage achieved about 87.9%. In addition, the influence of pH, time, and initial concentration of pyridine on the adsorption capacity was also examined. Moreover, the adsorption kinetic followed the pseudo-second-order model. Furthermore, after regeneration, the adsorbent can still show high adsorption capacity even for 10 cycles of desorption–adsorption. It hoped that lignosulfonate intercalated Mg2Al layered double hydroxide can be used as adsorbent for the removal of organic pollutants in wastewater.

The metal–organic frameworks material functionalized by grafting amino group of tetraethylenepentamine on the coordinative unsaturated Cr (III) centers is described. The obtained tetraethylenepentamine-functionalized adsorbents with different mass ratios of tetraethylenepentamine have been characterized by scanning electron microscopy, Fourier-transform infrared, X-ray powder diffraction, and N2 adsorption and desorption isotherms. Significantly, MIL-101-tetraethylenepentamine 60% exhibited high adsorption capacity (350 mg/g) for removal of uranium (VI) from water at pH 4.5. At uranium concentration <20 mg/L, the isothermal plot was best represented by Freundlich model. At U(VI) concentration approximately >30 mg/L, the isotherm was best described by Langmuir model.
