This research focuses on the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the Korean National Competency Standards. The aim of this research is to perform a comparative study of two university engineering courses to present the difference between the effect of virtual reality (VR)-based teaching and traditional teaching on learning robotics. To achieve this goal, the authors used the expert method, focus group interviews, and a comparative study. There were three hypotheses and four research questions on the relationship between teaching method and competency development. As a case study for this research, the authors chose Korea University of Technology and Education and designed a survey to assess students’ competencies. The participants were second- and third-grade university students. Quantitative data were collected from the interview forms developed by the researcher; qualitative data were analyzed using the expert method and a comparative study. A significant difference was observed between competency development in the VR class and that in a regular class with a similar syllabus. Furthermore, it was noted that different teaching methods affect competency development in different ways; VR tools develop some competencies, but not all of them. Authors found that the VR tool requires an appropriate teaching method and affects the student’s ability to develop competencies.

Introduction. The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in significant medication, supply and equipment, and provider shortages, limiting the resources available for provision of surgical care. In response to mandates restricting surgery to high-acuity procedures during this period, our institution developed a multidisciplinary Low-Resource Operating Room (LROR) Taskforce in April 2020. This study describes our institutional experience developing an LROR to maintain access to urgent surgical procedures during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods. A delineation of available resources and resource replacement strategies was conducted, and a final institution-wide plan for operationalizing the LROR was formed. Specialty-specific subgroups then convened to determine best practices and opportunities for LROR utilization. Orthopedic surgery performed in the LROR using wide-awake local anesthesia no tourniquet (WALANT) is presented as a use case. Results. Overall, 19 limited resources were identified, spanning across the domains of physical space, drugs, devices and equipment, and personnel. Based on the assessment, the decision to proceed with creation of an LROR was made. Sixteen urgent orthopedic surgeries were successfully performed using WALANT without conversion to general anesthesia. Conclusion. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, a LROR was successfully designed and operationalized. The process for development of a LROR and recommended strategies for operating in a resource-constrained environment may serve as a model for other institutions and facilitate rapid implementation of this care model should the need arise in future pandemic or disaster situations.

INTRODUCTION Gallstones are the most common conditions encountered in surgical OPD. The prevalence rose with age, except in women of 40-49 years, so that at 60-69 years, 22.4% of women and 11.5% of men had gall stones or had undergone cholecystectomy. With the help of this study, best treatment option for cholecystectomy patient (whether to insert drain or not), was ensured in terms of post lap cholecystectomy collections of bile or blood, drain site pain. The study was provide knowledge whether drain insertion was benecial or harmful to patient. MATERIALS AND METHODS This comparative study was presented to the surgery OPD and emergency department with cholelithiasis within a period of 1 year from the approval of Research committee and Ethics Committee, Adesh institute of medical sciences and research, Bathinda. The primary outcome variable used to calculate sample size is amount of collection on post-operative day 3(Quantitative Variable) in both groups. Total 100 patients were present in this study. RESULT In this present study VAS median grade in patients with drain was G4 (48%), followed by G3(47%) then G2(5%). VAS median grade in without drain group was G2 (48%), followed by G3(31%) and G1(16%). CONCLUSION There is no signicant difference as far as post operative wound infection in laparoscopic Cholecystectomy with drain or without drain. Therefore in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy keeping drain can be avoided as it does not provide any additional benet.

<p class="apa">The aim of this study was to determine the effect of Student Teams-Achievement Divisions cooperative learning with models on academic achievements of undergraduate university students attending classes in which the electrochemical cells. The sample of research was comprised of 70 students from first class of science teacher education program during the academic year 2014-2015. The data obtained by the Electrochemistry Achievement Test (EcAT). The study was carried out in three different groups. The research groups were randomly assigned as the cooperative learning with models group (CLMG), the cooperative learning group (CLG), and the control group (CG). The data obtained by the instrument was evaluated through descriptive statistics, one–way ANOVA, and ANCOVA. The results indicated that teaching electrochemical cells via STAD with Model method was more effective than the traditional teaching method and only STAD in increasing academic achievement. In addition, according to the EcAT results, students’ high levels of misunderstanding show that there are indicative of some deficiencies in teaching of the electrochemical cells in the molecular level.</p>
