Long drought and uncontrolled human activities resulted in R. Soerjo Prigen Pasuruan Grand Forest Park experiencing fire. Adverse impacts on vegetation can result in vegetation death. Damage caused by fire to vegetation can lead to succession which can be seen from the composition and structure of forest vegetation. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of environmental parameters, structure and composition of plant vegetation in Tahura R. Soerjo, which were used as a learning resource for biology. This study used a purposive sampling technique. The method used is a combination of paths and checkered lines. The data analysis technique used is the Importance Value Index (INP), the dominance index, the diversity index, the wealth index, and the evenness index. The results showed that the identification of plant vegetation diversity was found as many as 33 species from 17 families that came from 3 divisions. The highest INP was found at the seedling level. The value of the dominance index is less than 1. The results show that the value of the density index is low, because it has a value of <3.5. The evenness value is at a high value, except at the tree level.

Abstract. Ardiyaningrum I, Budiastuti MTS, Komariah. 2021. Short Communication: Species composition and diversity of vegetation in dryland agricultural landscape. Biodiversitas 22: 65-71. Drylands are a part of the terrestrial ecosystems with a relatively larger area compared to wetlands. Selo has dryland with steep slopes and high rainfall, resulting in relatively high soil erosion. The land use in this sub-district is dominated by plantations and agriculture, with conditions that have not been fully balanced by trees as a means of controlling erosion and supporting vegetation diversity. Therefore, studies on biodiversity are important as an indicator of dryland sustainability, especially in terms of soil and water conservations. This research aimed to study the species composition and diversity of vegetation in the dryland agricultural landscape in Selo Sub-district, Boyolali District, Central Java Province, Indonesia. Vegetation analysis was performed by using the quadratic sampling technique for tree category, pole category, sapling category, and seedling categories. The results indicated that Fabaceae had the highest number of species. Tree species with the highest Importance Value Index were Toona sureni, Artocarpus heterophyllus, and Casuarina junghuhniana, respectively. The Shanon-Wiener Diversity Index showed that the vegetation at tree, pole, and sapling stages had a moderate diversity, and seedling-stage vegetation had a low diversity.

Abstract. Setiawan AW, Tjiu A, Meididit A, Iswinanto, Ginanjar A, Atut Y, Agusti R. 2021. Plant diversity in logged over forest in Mahakam Ulu, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. Biodiversitas 22: 4829-4838. A study of flora was conducted in the Ratah Timber concession area. Objectives of this study was to calculate the Importance Value Index (IVI) and identify species diversity in Mahakam Ulu, East Kalimantan. A survey was carried out in 128 plots within 13 transects placed purposively. Vegetation sampling was conducted using line transect and a quadrat method. As many as 530 species belonging to 79 families were found. Of these species, 420 species were found in observation plots with 374 of the species being tree. The most dominant tree species were Endertia spectabilis, Shorea pinanga and Shorea leprosula with IVI of 10.24%, 8.25%, and 6.96%, respectively. In total, 114 species or 21.5% are endemic species of Borneo. The Shannon-Wiener diversity index at tree level was 5.51 and at seedling level was 4.95. The highest Similarity Index was found between transects 23 and 21, meanwhile the lowest was between transects 05 and 15. This study found 61 species which are classified on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List (2020-1) as critically endangered (16), endangered (11), and vulnerable (34) species.

This study aims to determine the spread of herbal vegetation in the environment of the campus environment of UNWIRA Penfui Kupang, by applying vegetation parameters including density, relative density, frequency, relative frequency, dominance, relative dominance, Importance Value Index (INP), and Comparison Important Value (SDR). The method used in this study is the quadratic method, with the determination of the sampling point divided into two observation stations, based on open and sheltered areas with each station there are 5 observation plots with a size of 1x1 m2. The results of research conducted in the environment of the campus environment of UNWIRA Penfui Kupang found 7 types of herbal plants namely Solanum nigrum, Mussaenda frondosa, Oplismenus hirtellus, Amaranthus viridis, Eclipta L, Bidens pilosa, Imperata cylindrical and the composition of the highest number of individuals were Oplismenus hirtellus. The amount of diversity index value of basket grass plants (Oplismenus hirtellus) is 0.146 with a large amount of basket grass plants tend to be more stable compared to the other 6 plants found. Index value of vegetation diversity of herbaceous plants obtained is 0.782, so species diversity is lacking.

Protection forest has high diversity, one of them is Padang Tikar protection forest, Kubu Raya Regency. Recently, there is no data regarding stand species diversity in Padang Tikar protection forest. This research aimed to find out stand species diversity in Padang Tikar protection forest. By using survey method with sampling technique, a combination of lane and striped plot method, measuring plot was made continously on the lane. The width of the Padang Tikar protection forest is 33,000 Ha. Lane was put purposively and following on satellite imagery of earth, where the lane are put cutting the way the river flow. The area of observation was 6 Ha wide, the number of observation lanes were three with the size of 20 x 100 metres each, two lanes were on the west side of the protection forest and one lane on the east side, with the length of 3 km. Three lanes were chosen due to the area was almost similar in. The distance between lanes was 200 metres. The total amount of plot observed were 30 plots. Research results showed that there were 40 stand species in the area of the Padang Tikar protection forest. Importance Value Index showed there were dominant plants, tree level which are resak (Vatica celebensis brandis), nyatoh (Palaquium pseudocuneteum), meranti (Shorea parvifolia dyer), bintangur (Callophylum inophloide king), ubah (Zygigium sp), and medang (Litsea firma) with the Importance Value of 170,01%.Keyword : Diversity, Batu Ampar, Forest Protected, Padang Tikar.

The study was conducted in November-December 2018 with line transect method sampling and quadrate sampling technique. Macroalgae were 36 species consists of 25 species of Chlorophyta Division, nine (9) species of Rhodophyta Division and two (2) species of Phaeophyta Division. Macroalga Bornetella nitida had Importance Value Index 39.24% that dominated research locations. The Shannon-Wiener biodiversity Index (H’) of macroalgae species at Station I (H': 3.02) was classified as high while Station II (H': 2.86) and Station III (H ': 2.63) were moderate. The diversity of mangrove vegetation is a community that has different characteristics from other communities. Diversity is an important component in mangrove management, but so far the availability of data related to mangroves is still very minimal, including those related to the species diversity of mangrove forest vegetation in the region. This study aims to obtain data on species diversity of vegetation found in the mangrove forest area of Dusun Besar Village, Pulau Maya District, Kayong Utara Regency. Method used was a combination of path and plot method, and the determination of the location and research path location were carried out using purposive sampling. The results of observation and data analysis showed that the dominant vegetation species with the highest importance value index (INP) for seedlings, saplings and trees was the Avicennia marina, namely the INP value of seedlings 37.04%, the INP values of sapling 65.24%, and the value of INP a tree rate of 65. Based on the results of the most dominant analysis found the species of  Avicennia marina with a value of C = 0.03430 for seedling, C = 0.04729 for sapling, and C = 0.04736 for tree level. The diversity of mangrove forest vegetation species in Dusun Besar Village for seedlings, saplings and trees is low because it has an H 'value <1, and the abundance of mangrove vegetation species was not evenly distributed in each forest area because it only has an e value <1.Keywords: Dusun Besar Village, Mangrove Forest, Species Diversity
