Background: Recently, various studies have been performed to examine the effect of neurofeedback on treating tinnitus. However, these studies reported different results. In this process, the nervous activity of the patient is evaluated. For example, the aspects associated with brain processes are extracted through temporal processing signs, and then auditory or visual feedback is given to the person. Objectives: The present study investigates the effect of neurofeedback sessions on treating tinnitus. Materials & Methods: In this clinical trial study, 30 patients with tinnitus who met the inclusion criteria were included. They referred to the otorhinolaryngology clinic of Azahra and Kashani hospitals in Isfahan City, Iran. The patients underwent 20 sessions of neurofeedback and were examined at time intervals before the intervention and then 1, 3, and 5 months after the intervention. To evaluate the patients, we used tinnitus handicap inventory and visual analog scale. To examine the changes in VAS and THI data at different times, repeated measure ANOVA test was utilized. The significance level was considered less than 0.05. The analysis was performed in SPSS V. 24. Results: Five months after the intervention, tinnitus handicap inventory (P<0.001) and visual analog scale (P<0.001) scores of the patients significantly improved. Also, no complication resulting from the use of neurofeedback was observed in the patients. Conclusion: Usage of neurofeedback sessions as adjuvant therapy could be an effective treatment in patients who suffer from tinnitus.

Abstract Objectives This study evaluated the long-term effect on gingival tissues near noncarious cervical lesions after restoration with different composites in association with two different polishing techniques. Materials and Methods This study was conducted on 60 patients as a randomized, split-mouth, single-blind clinical trial and divided into four groups (n = 15) and restored using different composites (Tetric N-Ceram nanohibride or Z350 XT nanoparticles) and polishing materials (Astropol or Sof-Lex). The periodontal parameters analyzed were Silness–Löe plaque index; Silness–Löe gingival index; probing depth, clinical insertion level; and bleeding on probing. Periodontal analysis was performed before scaling and root planing at 30, 60, 120, and 180 days after restoration. Statistical Analysis The data submitted to the Friedman’s test were employed for comparison between groups (p < 0.05). Results Statistically significant differences between Z350/Astropol and other groups were observed for visible plaque and probing depth. Gingival index Tetric/Sof-Lex, the time factor did not influence the results. All experiment groups exhibited statistically significant differences in the clinical level of insertion when the follow-up time was considered. Percentage of bleeding on probing, in which there was a difference only with regard to group Tetric/Sof-Lex when the time factor was considered. Conclusion The evaluated composites and polishing techniques did not exhibit differences in performance in the periodontal parameters analyzed at the end of 6 months of evaluation.

Kata kunci : Manajemen bahu, Shoulder pain, stroke ABSTRACT Shoulder pain is common complication and interfere with the after stroke patients. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of shoulder management on shoulder pain for after stroke patients. This type of research was pre-experiments design with the design one of group pre-test-post test design. The sampling method used  a Non-probability  sampling with a consecutive sampling approach with a sample of 40 respondents who were given a shoulder management for four month with doing exercise once a day. The data collection used observation sheets and for the instruments used VAS ( Visual analog scale) The statistical test used paired T test and the value p=0.000 which obtained significance level with α=0.05 . The study result  showed that there was an effect of shoulder management on shoulder pain after-stroke patients Keywords : Shoulder pain, Shoulder management,  stroke

Objective: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a chronic disease caused by inflammation of the tissue and bony structure of the joint, which affects more than 235 million people worldwide. Due to the adverse effects caused by the long-term use of standard treatment of OA, the attempt to find natural remedies to treat chronic diseases continues to rise. Curcuma longa is known to have anti-inflammatory effects, which may impact the pathophysiology of OA. While many randomized controlled trials show the efficacy of Curcuma longa extract in the treatment of OA, there has been no comprehensive review of this evidence. Methods: We systematically searched PubMed, Cochrane, Scopus, ProQuest, EBSCOhost, and ScienceDirect for randomized controlled trials that evaluated Curcuma longa extract (CE extract) vs. control (placebo or other therapy). Three trials were identified. Data were then extracted from the studies and summarized descriptively. Results: Across all trials, Curcuma longa therapy was proven to reduce Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) scores significantly compared to the control group. Adverse effects were less likely to appear in patients treated with Curcuma longa extract compared to other groups. Conclusion: CL extract is beneficial as an alternative medication for OA treatment, shown by the reduced scores of the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and WOMAC in all studies we reviewed.
