Online mapping has developed rapidly over the past few years resulting to replace GIS functionality. This system allows users to use appliacation without using specialized GIS software. The system can receive data from multiple sources and display the map to all users. These developments bring web-based mapping technology. Web-based mapping using MapsAPI as third-party tools. MapsAPI allows system to mapping data in real time and real location. That information technology can support smart city program’s to solve several problem in a city like mapping the location of the damaged roads. Users only need to use internet browsing application to add location or observe the map of road damage. People and government as system user’s, can utilize the system to determine the priority of roadwork.

Developments in web mapping and web based geographic information systems (GIS) have evolved rapidly over the past two decades. What began as online map images available to a small group of geospatial experts and professionals has developed to a comprehensive and interactive web map based on integrated information from multiple sources and manipulated by masses of users globally. This paper introduces a framework that outlines the eras of web mapping and significant developments among those eras. From this framework, some of the influences and trends can be determined, particularly those in relation to the development of technologies and their relation to the growth in the number and diversity of users and applications that utilise web mapping and geospatial information online.

In the past, web-based chat application didn’t consider security as part of must-have requirement, thus many insecure examples were broken in short time after it was released. Data sniffing is one common attack that could be used to attack insecure applications because the data was transferred using an insecure medium, which is HTTP. We propose a new web-based chat application that is built based on HTML5 WebSocket technology using Socket.IO library to improve confidentiality of the messages sent between two or multiple parties. We combine it with NodeJS and Express to facilitate real-time discussion between client and server and vice versa. We also use Rijndael (known as AES - Advanced Encryption Standard) to make sure that the message stays confidential and only known by sender and receiver. To satisfy the integrity property, we apply SHA-3 hash function. By combining SSL/TLS, AES, and SHA-3 hash function, we have added multiple layer of security inside this application and no additional effort needed by the user. Based on conducted experiments, we can conclude that this application could satisfy security requirements (confidentiality and integrity), either on the client or server side.

Emerging research concerns about the authenticated cloud service with high performance of security and assuring trust for distributed clients in a smart city. Cloud services are deployed by the third-party or web-based service providers. Thus, security and trust would be considered for every layer of cloud architecture. The principle objective of cloud service providers is to deliver better services with assurance of trust about clients' information. Cloud's users recurrently face different security challenges about the use of sharable resources. It is really difficult for Cloud Service Provider for adapting varieties of security policies to sustain their enterprises' goodwill. To make an optimistic decision that would be better suitable to provide a trusted cloud service for users' in smart city. Statistical method known as Multivariate Normal Distribution is used to select different attributes of different security entities for developing the proposed model. Finally, fuzzy multi objective decision making and Bio-Inspired Bat algorithm are applied to achieve the objective.

With the changes of learning psychology and information technology, CSCL tools should also keep up with the times and meet the growing needs of learners. The appearance of RIA can make up the deficiencies of Web-based CSCL tools at present. With the use of RIA, the next generation tools could be realized with high interactivity and richer user interfaces. Silverlight is one of mainstream technologies of RIA, and it has the advantages of better user interfaces, high development efficiency, newer way of communication, and so on, which other RIA technologies could not reach. In order to facilitate collaborative knowledge construction of learners, the paper design and develop a Web-based CSCL tool which has the function of real-time interactivity with words or graphics.

With the rapid development of information technology, the rapid advancement of urbanization and the rapid expansion of urban scale, higher requirements have been put forward for the development of the city, which promotes the continuous acceleration of the urban process, and the construction of smart city has become an inevitable development trend. Smart city is the combination of digital city and Internet of things. Digital city construction uses Remote Sensing, Global Navigation Satellite System, Geographic Information System, Engineering Survey and other Mapping Technology. Therefore, in the construction of smart city, the most indispensable is modern information technology and surveying and mapping technology. Through the analysis of the application of new surveying and mapping technology in the construction of smart city, this paper shows the important role of new surveying and mapping technology in the construction of smart city.

<p>The development of Information Technology is increasingly demanding that Higher Education to provide information quickly to meet the needs of Information and Monitoring Course for Lecturers, Students and Admin staff. This study aims to design a Model Information System and Monitoring Course at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Semarang Web-based. Coverage includes lecture planning, lecturing, evaluation of lecturing, control of lecturing and improvement of lecture planning. This research produces an application of Information System and Monitoring model of lecturing which aims to facilitate and accelerate the preparation of time, room and course schedule and ease in monitoring the attendance status of lecturers in class either to students or other parties in real time without having to come to campus check board information . The contribution of this research results will greatly affect the application of science and technology for higher education institutions and to realize the development of Faculty of Engineering Semarang University as a leading Faculty in 2023. The method used is dynamic priorities method which prioritizes the process that has the highest <br />priority and is able to respond to changes in the system environment operate. Modeling the system using XAMPP package in which integrated MySQL module for database purposes, PHP for management of information systems, and Apache for simulation purposes. The results showed the implementation of the application of Information Systems Monitoring System Lectures Faculty of Engineering, University of Semarang goes well.</p>

Small academic libraries still need to produce web-based subject guides despite limited budgets. This practical communication describes how one such library in Australia used freely available wiki software and third-party hosting to create a web-based set of subject guides and a subsequent redesign based around typical student tasks. It demonstrates that it is possible to produce high quality guides that meet student needs with minimal costs.Catherine KerriganPhD candidateUniSA School of Information Technology & Mathematical Sciencesemail: [email protected]: www.unisa.edu.au/itee<http://www.unisa.edu.au/itee>;http://www.unisa.edu.au/IT-Engineering-and-the-Environment/Information-Technology-and-Mathematical-Sciences/;

Grant-supported digitization projects over the past 20 years at the Illinois Natural History Survey (INHS) have yielded over 1,000,000 occurrence records (representing over 2.7 million specimens), one of the most successful digitization efforts within the United States. However, receiving multiple grants at the cutting edge has led to numerous projects left at various stages of completeness, several relational databases, orphaned data, and specimens at various stages of curation. TaxonWorks (taxonworks.org), an integrated web-based workbench developed by the Species File Group and supported by the INHS and the National Science Foundation, has provided the digital infrastructure to unify multiple workflows, projects, databases, and even historical accession books into one easy to access, open-source platform. We demonstrate the practical utility of this platform and summarize past, present, and future efforts at the INHS towards integrating all our data within TaxonWorks.
