The article is devoted to the features of the organization and technology of delivery of perishable goods in small batches by road in regional traffic. It has been established that when planning this type of cargo delivery, it becomes necessary to determine such routes bypassing specified points, at which the time of delivery of perishable goods to points of sale will be minimal. Thus, as a criterion that determines the rationality of building a route network for the delivery of perishable goods in regional traffic, has been defined the time of cargo’s delivery in small batches in regional traffic. The route network for the delivery of perishable goods with a minimum delivery time is considered rational. To analyze the execution time of each delivery phase and take into account the time and quantitative parameters that affect the delivery process, the study built a model which is based on the theory of Petri nets. The parameters of the model were established on the basis of the reporting data of the private enterprise "Samoilenko A.I.". The model took into account time parameters and quantitative factors affecting the process of delivery of perishable goods in regional traffic. An experiment was carried out using the developed model. The obtained value of the integral error of the data discrepancy throughout the system allows us to assume that the constructed model adequately reproduces the process of delivery of perishable goods in small batches by road in regional traffic. Taking into account the results of delivery process’ modeling, using the method of a short connecting network, a rational route network was built in the study, which consists of six routes. The effect was determined as a time difference for the delivery system along the network of rational route network and along the existing network, which amounted to 131 minutes.

Objective: Assessment of the need to study the process of delivering a batch of containers from the rear terminal to the port to ensure uninterrupted communication between the rear terminal and the seaport and delivery a batch of containers exactly on time. As a primary task, the problem of analyzing the factors affecting the nature of the delivery process is solved. Methods: The methods of the theory of probability and mathematical statistics were applied in terms of determining the factors that affect the nature of the delivery process. The method of constructing process models was used to create a technological model for the delivery of containers by a block train to the port. Results: A technological model of container delivery by block train is presented. Diagrams were built showing the share of the main deviations from the schedule of container trains by types of operations for traffic, traction, corporate transport services. The main factors influencing the duration of individual operations with container block trains en route and the increase in the delivery time for a batch of containers from rear terminals to the seaport as a whole are identified. The random nature of the duration of the delivery of containers by block trains following the schedule has been established. Practical importance: The need to improve the methodology for choosing a method for delivering containers from the rear terminal to the port using simulation based on the identified factors influencing individual elements of the technological model of container delivery by a block train, deviations from the delivery time of containers, scheduled running of block trains is shown.

Abstract The article presents the application in practice of a transport problem with the criterion of time to optimize the supply of store chains. When transporting perishable goods (e.g. dairy products, fruits, vegetables) the most important goal is to minimize delivery time. Shortening the delivery time gives the opportunity to meet the expectations of potential customers, as well as to maintain the functional properties of transported goods.

The research aims to explore and measure the factors affecting customer satisfaction in cargo delivery services in Vietnam. Notably, the researchers develop a new scale to examine the effect the customer satisfaction, and it is the price factor. To conduct the research, the authors do group discussions and expert discussion and then analyzed 1,729 valid respondents with five factors: resource, service capacity, management capacity, brand reputation and price. The result from Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) shows that all of the independent variables have a significant effect on customer satisfaction. In which, brand reputation is the most influential factor, and the management capacity is the least influential factor. Besides, the research shows that the price also effects on customer satisfaction on cargo delivery context. Based on that, the research recommends the necessary management solutions to increase customer satisfaction, and it also supports the new scale and ideas to research in the new field and new country in further research.

This chapter presents the role, functions, and prospects of civil unmanned aerial vehicles development, as well as technical and regulatory barriers to the introduction of unmanned aircraft into special cargo transportation technology. The authors' main idea is that the degree of UAV involvement in freight traffic will continue to grow rapidly as the range of UAV flight and carrying capacity increases, and the air law is liberalized. It is proposed to evaluate the economic efficiency of UAV application and their share in the market for the transportation of urgent and perishable goods using the methodology based on the principles of logistics and mathematical modeling. In the formulated model, the process of special cargoes delivery by unmanned aerial vehicles is integrated into the supply chain by all modes of transport along the set route network, taking into account the requirements formulated by the freight forwarder, carrier, and logistics company.

Abstract The problem under consideration is the modeling of manufacturing resources like machine tools, setups and tools which affect the cost and batch delivery time estimation of machined parts. The proposed resource models are built upon Petri net models for process planning and scheduling with three methods: (i) an implicit modeling method where resources are modeled as a data structure which acts on a specific Process Planning Petri net (PP-net), (ii) a first explicit modeling method where resources, are modeled as separated Petri nets whose places are connected to PP-net transitions with adequate arcs and form a Process Planning Cost System (PPC-system) and (iii) a second explicit modeling method where a two-level Petri net model is proposed which allows the modular modeling of process plans and resources. In the later case, integration is achieved through an synchronization mechanism. The first two methods are used for the cost estimation of process plans of unique parts while the third one is used for delivery time and cost estimation of a batch of machined parts.

Distribution is the activity of distributing goods from producers to consumers. Companies are obliged to optimize distribution so that they can easily compete with other companies, this can be done by optimizing the fleet. Each fleet must obtain information including the distance traveled, objectives achieved, periodic maintenance and service planning. PT Kino has 30 fleets, there is a problem where the estimated delivery time cannot be monitored because the company does not have a route plan in each shipment, this results in route optimization with the layout of goods in an unstructured fleet, from these problems the company does not have schedule reports and route planning data optimal for the achievement of the company. Another problem is that it is difficult for companies to monitor the fleet during the delivery of goods, this is because the ongoing process is still carried out in a minimalist manner which results in different reporting data between the customer and the delivery bag. The solution to overcome this problem was created a Fleet Management System using the concept of the Saving Matrix used to determine the distance and route of goods delivery from the company to consumers in order for the delivery of goods to be carried out in an effective and efficient manner. The software development method used is the waterfall. The results of this study are in the form of a system that has outputs including displaying route recommendations and monthly or yearly distribution schedule reports. After building the system, the user acceptance test was carried out with a result of 83.95% of the 41 test cases conducted by 6 actors.

The paper investigates factors affecting logistics providers? satisfaction with HCMC logistic environment and then extend some remedies to enhance it. By using both quantitative and qualitative methods, the authors investigate 200 logistics providers operating in HCMC. The results show that the satisfaction with the logistic environment is affected by six factors: (1) the quality of trade- and transport-related infrastructure, (2) the ease of arranging competitively priced shipments, (3) the efficiency of the customs clearance process, (4) the ability to track and trace consignments, (5) the competence and quality of logistic services , and (6) the frequency with which shipments reach the consignee within the scheduled or expected delivery time.
