The article is dedicated to Pavel A. Stunzhas, a highly qualified specialist in the field of Marine Hydrochemistry, a graduate from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. He was a Senior Researcher at the Laboratory of Biohydrochemistry at the Shirshov Institute of Oceanology Russian Academy of Sciences, PhD on Physics and Mathematics sciences. July 2, 2020, he celebrated his 80th birthday, but by the will of fate and COVD'19, he suddenly passed away on October 29 of this year. He worked at the Institute of Oceanology for 46 years – from the first to the last days of his life.

The Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences has a long tradition of honoring outstanding Soviet and Russian scientists who at different times served and developed legal science at the highest academic level. One of such recognized outstanding scientists was the Honored scientist of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Law, Professor Mikhail I. Piskotin (1924 - 2003). Mikhail I. Piskotin devoted many years to the formation and strengthening of the science of Financial Law and its sub-branches (tax, Budget Law), in every possible way contributed to the development of the science of Administrative Law. 1973 - 1989 worked at the Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR as head of the sector and editor-in-chief of the journal "Soviet State and Law". In his memory and with respect to his merits, the scientific community annually holds scientific events. In April 2021, an International scientific and practical conference was successfully held, the topic of which was "Financial security and law in the digital era ("Piskotin’s readings - 2021"). The organizer of the conference is the sector of Administrative Law and administrative process, the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences. A distinctive feature of this conference was that as its participants, academic theorists and practitioners in the field of financial and administrative law from leading academic and research organizations from the Russian Federation, as well as citizens of individual European states and Asia, announced and made reports on topical topics. The purpose of the conference was to consider current problems, current trends and prospects for the development of Financial Law in the digital era. The participants were especially interested in those reports in which not only the existing problems were raised, but also the directions and ways of their solution were expressed. As a result of the work, the participants adopted the Resolution of the International scientific and practical conference "Financial security and law in the digital era ("Piskotin’s readings - 2021").

In 2020, the team of the Central Economics and Mathematics Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences launched a regular international online seminar "Artificial Societies and Information Technologies". The seminar was attended by leading researchers in the field of agent modeling from Brazil, South Korea, India, China, France, Germany and other countries.

The international scientific-practical conference “The Teacher of Today and Tomorrow: Between Reality and Expectations” was held at the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences (LEU) on 24 November 2016. The conference applications were sent by educational researchers and teachers-practitioners from Lithuania, Ireland, Scotland, Switzerland, Belarus, Poland, Latvia, Tukey, Italy and Portugal. The conference was attended by a hundred and thirty participants and listeners. The most relevant problems of the school and the teacher in the contemporary world were addressed in the plenary sessions. Vilma Bačkiūtė, Head of the Division of Teacher Activity of the Ministry of Education and Science of Lithuania, Tomás Ó Ruairc, Director of the Teaching Council, Ireland, Jonas Ruškus – Professor of Vytautas Magnus University, Member of Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities of the United Nations, Alvyra Galkienė, Associate Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Education, LEU, Do Coyle, Professor of University of Aberdeen, Fred Taveau, Dunja Chamberlain, Lecturers of International School of Geneva, Andrei Korol, Rector of the Yanka Kupala Grodno State University joined the discussions on the issues of the conference. The themes of the conference were developed in three directions: changes in the school and expectations set for a teacher, integrity and multidimensionality of teacher activities and teacher education, development of professionalization. They all were elaborated on in seven parallel sections. The poster presentations aroused the greatest interest among participants in the conference. All the poster presentations at the conference were united under the umbrella title The Sketches of Contemporary School. As many as sixteen poster presentations were exhibited and their thirty authors actively shared success stories of their institutions and disseminated such ideas as achievements in inclusive and non-formal education, a school for everyone, setting creativity free, self-directed learning and others. The international scientific – practical conference “The Teacher of Today and Tomorrow: Between Reality and Expectations” rallied and untied parents as members of school communities, students as teachers to be, currently working teachers, heads of schools, researchers and education policy makers. All the participants acknowledged the aforementioned as the greatest strength and impetus for change. The article overviews the reports presented at the International Scientific & Practical Conference “Russian Geographical Names on the Maps of the South Pacific” that took place on February 12, 2021 in the form of an online conference. The conference was organized by the Center of the South Pacific Studies of the Center of Southeast Asia, Australia and Oceania of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Committee for External Relations of the city of St. Petersburg; and Miklouho-Maclay Foundation. The conference was attended by the scientists and representatives of practical organizations from Russia and Australia.
