Coal with high content of alkaline and alkaline earth metals (salty coal) occupies its definite place in an energy reserve of the country. Standard methods to assess the dynamics of the release of salts (mainly sodium chloride) into the aqueous solution during the desalting of salty coal were used. The advantages and disadvantages of existing methods for determining the sodium content in aqueous solutions are considered. The principle of operation of the upgraded spectral complex KSVU-5 based on the determination of the content of alkali metals in aqueous solutions by the method of atomic emission analysis is presented. The remarkable reproducibility of the measurements results on the spectral complex of small and large concentration of Na in solution is shown. The results of an experimental study of the desalting process by water washing of salty coal samples of various size classes (in the range 0-5 mm) and analysis of the obtained solutions by the spectral complex KSVU-5 are presented. Comparison of the sodium concentration in solutions during the desalting of salty coal obtained by atomic absorption and atomic emission analysis was performed. The possibility of using express analysis (Conductivity/TDS) to determine the concentration of sodium in solution is shown. Ref. 8, Fig. 6.

The method including microwave acidic dissolution of samples and atomic-emission analysis of rhenium for determination of rhenium in cupper-molybdenum and lead-cupper wares is proposed. The range of determination concentration of metal is 0.05 – 0.5 mass percent, standard deviation of repeatability is 0.002 – 0.01 %.

The paper considers аsoftware method (WinLab32,Optima 2100DV)emission spectrometer for increasing the intensity of the analytical signal when the gas flow rate of the atomizer in the spray chamber changes. The determination of the optimal atomizer gas flow value was carried out as a result of mathematical and empirical approximations for each wavelength of the selected analytes.

The analytical capabilities of the arc atomic emission analysis for determination the impurities in kaolin clays, the feedstock for producing metallurgical alumina, were studied. The analytical lines of the elements that are most free of interferences are selected. The conditions of the analysis and parameters of the spectrometer are determined: current strength, exposure, interelectrode distance, types and parameters of electrodes, weight of the sample. The detection limits and limits of determination of the following elements are specified: Ca, Cr, Cu, Ga, Mg, Mn, Mo, Nb, Ni, Pb, Sc, Ti, V, Y, Zn, Zr, La. The limits of determination are n x 10–5 – n x 10–6 wt.%. A comparative analysis of the samples of kaolin clays previously analyzed by another method in the framework of inter-method comparative tests is carried out. It is shown that there are no significant discrepancies between the results obtained by both two methods.

The analytical capabilities of arc atomic emission determination of As, Bi, Sb, Cu, Te in rare earth metals (REM) and their oxides after preparatory group concentration using S,N-containing heterochain polymer sorbent are studied on a high-resolution spectrometer “Grand- Extra” (“WMC-Optoelectron-ics” company, Russia). Sorption kinetics and dependence of the degree of the impurity extraction on the solution acidity are analyzed to specify conditions of sorption concentration. To optimize the procedure of arc atomic emission determination of As, Bi, Sb, Cu, and Te various schemes of their sorption preconcentration and subsequent processing of the resulted concentrate with the addition of a collector at different stages of the sorption process have been considered. Graphite powder is used as a collector in analysis of rare earth oxides due to universality and relative simplicity of the emission spectrum. Conditions of analysis and parameters of the spectrometer that affect the analytical signal (mass and composition of the sample, shape and size of the electrodes, current intensity and generator operation mode, interelectrode spacing, wavelengths of the analytical lines) are chosen. The evaporation curves of the determinable impurities were studied and the exposure time of As, Bi, Sb, Cu, and Te in the resulted sorption concentrate was determined. Correctness of the obtained results was evaluated using standard samples of the composition and in comparisons between methods. The results of the study are used to develop a method of arc chemical-atomic emission analysis of yttrium, gadolinium, neodymium, europium, scandium and their oxides in a concentration range of n x (10-2 - 10-5) wt.%.

The study of the biological role of chemical elements in farm animals is one of the issues that scientists continue to investigate. A comprehensive study of the gene pool and phenofund of breeds and species of farm animals is being carried out in Siberia. An important issue is the search for vital markers of macronutrient accumulation, including sodium in organs and tissues of animals. The article presents data on the content of sodium in the blood serum of offspring obtained from bulls-producers of the Holstein breed. The experiment was carried out at OAO Vaganovo, Kemerovo region. The sodium concentration was determined by the atomic emission method on an ICP AES IRIS spectrometer at the V. S. Sobolev Analytical Center for Collective Use of the Institute of Geology and Mineralogy SB RAS. In the area of Holstein cattle breeding, there is no excess of LOC for heavy metals in soil, water, feed, organs and tissues of animals. The influence of the genotype of the fathers of the Holstein breed on the sodium content in the blood serum of sons was established. The sodium concentration in Fabio’s offspring was 1.9 times higher (240.4 mg/ l) than in Brio’s sons (P ˂ 0.001). By the level of sodium in the serum of offspring, bulls-producers were arranged in the following order: Brio ˂ Bonaire ˂ Malstrom ˂ Fabio in a proportion of 1: 1.3: 1.5: 1.9. The phenotypic variability of this element between the offspring of different producers differed by 3 times or more. Interbreed differentiation, the influence of the genotype of producers, differences between lines and families sign the hereditary determination of resistance and susceptibility to the accumulation of macro- and microelements in organs and tissues of animals.
