Abstract: Based on data from Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Kota Magelang in July 2018, the highest number of teachers is in group of  IV / a. One of the influencing factors is their reluctance to make scientific publications for the promotion. They do not have enough information about the journal to be addressed, do not yet understand what must be stated in a scientific article, systematics of writing, and how to make a bibliography. The online process is also one of the things they find difficult. The purpose of community service is to improve the ability of teachers to write scientific articles. Partners in this activity were 12 elementary and junior high school teachers in Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Kota Magelang. The implementation time is 4 months consisting of 3 training sessions and following assistance. The material presented during the training included (1) scientific articles in the ranks of teachers, (2) reference managers, and (3) article submissions. The results of the training showed that all participants increasingly understood how to use scientific articles for promotion. In addition, 58% of participants are more aware and able to use the reference manager in Ms Office Word. In the third material, 67% of participants understood and were able to register and submit articles in the Paedagogie Journal. Keywords: scientific articles, training, scientific publications, classroom action research Abstrak: Berdasarkan data dari Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Kota Magelang pada bulan Juli 2018, jumlah terbanyak guru berada pada golongan IV/a. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi adalah keengganan mereka dalam membuat publikasi ilmiah untuk kenaikan pangkat. Mereka tidak memiliki informasi yang cukup mengenai jurnal yang akan dituju, belum memahami apa yang harus dituangkan dalam sebuah artikel ilmiah, sistematika penulisan, serta cara membuat daftar pustaka. Proses online juga menjadi salah satu hal yang mereka anggap sulit. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam menulis artikel ilmiah. Mitra dalam kegiatan ini adalah 12 orang guru SD dan SMP di lingkungan Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayan di Kota Magelang. Waktu pelaksanaan yakni 4 bulan terdiri dari 3 kali pelatihan dan ikuti pendampingan. Materi yang disampaikan pada saat pelatihan antara lain (1) artikel ilmiah dalam kepangkatan guru, (2) reference manager, dan (3) article submission. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa seluruh peserta semakin memahami bagaimana memanfaatkan artikel ilmiah bagi pengajuan kenaikan pangkat. Selain itu, 58% peserta semakin paham dan mampu cara menggunakan reference manager pada Ms Office Word. Pada materi ke-3, sebanyak 67% peserta memahami dan mampu untuk registrasi dan submit artikel pada Jurnal Paedagogie. Kata kunci: artikel ilmiah, pelatihan, publikasi ilmiah, penelitian tindakan kelas

Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah memberikan pelatihan untuk meningkatkan kreativitas guru dalam mengajar mata pelajaran Bahasa inggris di Kabupaten Tabalong. Diharapkan para guru dapat mengenal dan mengaplikasikan teknik mengajar bahasa Inggris yang lebih efektif, menyenangkan, dan modern. Adapun sasaran dari kegiatan ini adalah guru-guru MGMP SMP mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris di Kabupaten Tabalong yang berjumlah 30 orang. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah metode kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran dan mendeskripsikan kegiatan pelatihan tentang teknik mengajar Bahasa Inggris yang modern. Pada kegiatan Pengabdian ini ditemukan sebagian besar guru belum mengetahui teknik terbaru dalam pengajaran Bahasa Inggris. Jadi, pelaksanaan pelatihan dilakukan melalui penyampaian materi, diskusi, dan praktik. Materi yang disampaikan disesuaikan dengan program-program yang sesuai dengan silabus pada tiap sekolah. Materi tersebut berkaitan dengan perancangan dan teknik pengajaran yang diikuti oleh praktik pengajarannya. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan ini menjadi salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan inovasi dan kreativitas para guru dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar Bahasa Inggris di sekolah, khususnya di tingkat SMP.                              This activity aims to deliver a short training to improve the creativity of junior high school teachers for teaching English in Tabalong District. It is expected that teachers can recognize and apply teaching techniques that are more effective, fun, and modern. The subjects of this activity are 30 junior high school teachers of English MGMP in the district of Tabalong. The method used in this community service is a qualitative method that aims to provide an overview and describe training on modern English teaching techniques. In this community service activity, it was found that most of the teachers did not know the latest techniques in teaching English. As a result, the training was carried out through the delivery of material, discussion, and practice. The material presented was adjusted to the programs which fit the syllabus in each school. The material was related to design and teaching techniques, followed by the teaching practice. It can be concluded that this short training is one way to improve teachers' innovation and creativity in teaching and to learn English, especially in junior high school level.

Abstrak   Dalam penulisan karya tulis ilmiah, diperlukan kalimat efektif. Kalimat efektif adalah kalimat yang dapat mengungkapkan gagasan pemakainya secara tepat dan dapat dipahami secara tepat pula. Bahan kajian yang baik tidak akan dipahami pembaca secara baik apabila penulisnya tidak mampu menjelaskan ide-idenya dengan kalimat efektif. Fenomena yang terjadi saat ini adalah beberapa guru belum menggunakan kalimat efektif dalam menulis karya tulis ilmiah. Berdasarkan fenomena tersebut, perlu dilakukan pelatihan menulis kalimat efektif bagi guru, khususnya penyusunan karya tulis ilmiah (PTK) dalam menulis kalimat efektif pada PTK dalam bentuk Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PPM). Kegiatan PPM ini telah dilaksanakan oleh Tim Prodi PBI UNIPA Surabaya dan berjalan dengan baik secara virtual. Hal tersebut dapat buktikan dengan berdasarkan hasil tes akhir peserta, kemampuan menulis kalimat efektif guru dengan kriteria kesepadanan struktur sebesar 70%, kecermatan 65%, kehematan sebesar 80%, keparalelan 70 %, dan kelogisan sebesar 75%. Dengan demikian, dapat dikatakan bahwa hampir semua peserta dapat menulis kalimat efektif dalam penyusunan PTK sesuai dengan kaidah bahasa Indonesia.   Kata kunci: kalimat efektif, karya tulis ilmiah, guru SMP   Abstract   In writing scientific papers, effective sentences are needed. Effective sentences are sentences that can express the ideas of the wearer precisely and can be understood precisely too. Good study material will not be well understood by readers if the writer is unable to explain his ideas in the right sentence. The current phenomenon is that some teachers have not used effective sentences in writing scientific papers. Based on this phenomenon, it is necessary to carry out training in writing effective sentences for teachers, especially the preparation of scientific writing (PTK) in writing effective sentences in the CAR in the form of Community Service Program (PPM). This PPM activity has been carried out by the PBI UNIPA Surabaya Study Program Team and is running well virtually. This can be proven by the results of the participants' final tests, the teacher's ability to write effective sentences with the structural equivalence criteria of 70%, accuracy of 65%, savings of 80%, parallelity of 70%, and logic of 75%. Thus, it can be said that almost all participants can write effective sentences in the preparation of PTK according to Indonesian principles.   Keyword: effective sentences, scientific papers, junior high school teachers

Professional Content Knowledge of Indonesian junior high school teachers are truly challenged during the Covid-19 Pandemic. To overcome these limitations, this community program aims to empower junior high school teachers, especially at SMPN 1 Kedawung in designing online learning through the platforms of google and potato quiz makers. Workshop was designed to help overcoming the situation. Fifteen recommended teachers participated in the workshop. From the observation and questionnaire analysis, the results showed teachers’ instructional improvement in handling and designing online assessment and evaluation throughout hot potato quizzes and google-supported application.

This community service is carried out together with the Gayo Lues District Education Office. The purpose of this activity is to improve the speed counting skills and junior high school teachers in Gayo Lues, so that each teacher can become an agent of change in improving students' fast counting skills. The implementation of the activity began with a pre-test, discussion of partner problems, mentoring and training, review and evaluation by giving rewards to participants who get the best score. The results of the initial pre-test showed that the math teachers' ability to count quickly in Gayo Lues district was still low, where only 22.5% of the teachers were able to solve the questions according to the time given. However, after training and mentoring, more teachers were able to solve quick arithmetic questions according to the set time (75%). Although the level of accuracy is still low.

The general purpose of implementing Community Service is to provide knowledge to teachers which includes: basic knowledge about blog media, how to make it and its use as a learning media. To increase this knowledge the trainees are given basic knowledge and skills about; (1). Media blog, (2). Guide to blogging (3). Use blogs as learning media. The implementation of Community Service was carried out with methods in the form of counseling, training, FGD, practice, mentoring and evaluation. The implementation of detailed service is divided into several activities, namely: (1) Presentations about the importance of blogs and their creation in learning. (2) Discussion about various matters relating to the material presented. (3) Assignment of creating a Blog independently. (4) Mentoring, (5) and program evaluation. From the results of the evaluation and the findings that we obtained during the implementation of Community Service activities, we can conclude that the Community Service Program has been able to provide enormous benefits and is right on target for Junior High School Teachers who are Partners in this Activity. This form of training is a very effective form that provides refreshment and new insights and knowledge in the field of Media Blog as an alternative learning media for teachers. So that it can improve the understanding and ability and skills of teachers in the Partner's place so that learning can be more varied in learning practicesKeywords: learning media, blogs, teacher trainingTujuan umum pelaksanaan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat adalah memberikan pengetahuan kepada guru yang meliputi: pengetahuan dasar tentang media blog, cara pembuatannya dan pemanfaatannya sebagai media pembelajaran. Pemanfaatkan blog sebagai media pembelajaran. Pelaksanaan Pengabdian dilaksanakan dengan metode berbentuk penyuluhan, pelatihan, FGD, praktek, pendampingan dan evaluasi. Pelaksanaan pengabdian secara terperinci dibagi menjadi beberapa kegiatan yaitu: (1) Presentasi tentang pentingnya blog dan pembuatannya dalam pembelajaran. (2) Diskusi tentang berbagai hal yang berkaitan dengan materi yang disampaikan. (3) Penugasan pembuatan Blog secara mandiri. (4) Pendampingan, (5) dan evaluasi program. Dari hasil evaluasi serta temuan-temuan yang kami peroleh selama pelaksanaan kegiatan Pengabdian Pada Masyarakat, dapat kami simpulkan bahwa program Pengabdian Pada Masyarakat ini telah mampu memberikan manfaat yang sangat besar dan tepat sasaran bagi Guru-guru Sekolah Menengah Pertama yang menjadi Mitra dalam Kegiatan ini. Bentuk pelatihan seperti ini merupakan bentuk yang sangat efektif yang memberikan penyegaran dan wawasan serta pengetahuan baru di bidang Media Blog sebagai alternatif media pembelajaran bagi guru. instruction is implemented by elementary and junior high school teachers; (b)examine the frequency with which the components of self-determination are taught; and (c)investigate whether teachers’ gender, class setting, and teaching experience affect their classroom practices regarding the promotion of self-determination. The participants were 1,039 teachers recruited from elementary and junior high schools nationwide in Taiwan using a random sampling method. The Teaching Self-Determination Scale (TSDS) was used to gauge the extent to which educators teach knowledge and skills related to self-determination. Descriptive statistics, analyses of variance (ANOVAs) and multivariate analyses of variance (MANOVAs) were employed to analyze data collected. Findings showed that more than half of the teachers surveyed reported having often or always provided instruction to promote students’ self-determination. The most frequently taught skills are related to Psychological Empowerment (self-advocacy skills, expecting positive outcomes), while the least frequently taught skills were primarily located in the domain of Self-Regulation (goal setting and problem solving skills). Furthermore, our findings showed that teachers’ gender, class setting, and teaching experience were factors attecting the extent to which teachers delivered instruction to promote self-determination. Female teachers exhibited higher levels of implementation with respect to self-determination instruction. Teachers in general education classrooms showed significantly higher levels of applied self-determination instruction, followed by resource room teachers and self-contained classroom teachers. Additionally, teachers with more teaching experiences more frequently employed instructional activities promoting self-determination. Suggestions and implications are provided.

The mentoring and training activities for junior high school teachers in the innovation of the Caring Community-based PBL learning model go through three stages, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation. At the planning stage, the process of identifying problems, making work plans (work plans), and classifying teaching practice tasks is carried out. There are 5 groups with the same target material. At the implementation stage, it consists of two stages; 1) training on caring community learning models with a student centered approach which includes group model class management techniques, learning media design. 2) mentoring the learning practices of junior high school teachers in the classroom based on the ability level group, group L, and group M. Evaluation activities are carried out at the end of the activity to make improvements to mistakes, teacher weaknesses in the process of implementing the learning model.
