A Decade of Value Education Model: A Bibliometric Study of Scopus Database in 2011-2020

<p style="text-align: justify;">This bibliometric study aims to map the value education model research to provide direction for future research, especially in education and teaching. It is essential because value is the core of education. After all, in addition to opening the window of knowledge, education also has a role in transferring values for internalizing them in the education model. Therefore, conducting studies related to the concept and model of value education is essential for an educator. The focus of this study is to examine the bibliography related to the value education model based on the Scopus database in the period 2011-2020. This research took four stages; first: using Publish or Perish application to search articles from Scopus database. Second, performing filter by setting bibliographic criteria to be analyzed. Third, checking and completing articles' metadata through the EndNote reference manager application. Fourth, perform bibliometric analysis through the VOSviewer application. Through these four stages, seven analyses were explored; the trend of publications related to the value education model, analysis of the keywords used, collaboration of authors, citation patterns, institutions, and countries that were contributors to the study of the value education model, and abstract analysis. The results of this exploration conclude that there is a tendency for academics to pay less attention to the value education model when viewed from the number of publications related to the topic. The contribution of this research can be expected to provide direction for other researchers in conducting research and development related to educational models.</p>

Lateral Knee Osteoarthritis

Background: gonarthrosis is a common entity characterized by involvement of one or more compartments, of which the lateral one is the one with the lowest incidence in isolation. Aim: the aims of this research are too updated on the most important features on lateral knee osteoarthritis and look for updated bibliography on the subject. Methods: PubMed, Hinari, SciELO and Medline databases were searched for citations from August 1st 2021 to September 30th 2021 using the EndNote search manager and reference manager. Out of 312 articles, 44 selected citations were used in this review, being 42 of the last five years. Results: the main causes of lateral knee osteoarthritis are mentioned, especially the secondary ones. Reference is made to the main clinical and imaging elements for diagnosis based on plain radiography and magnetic resonance imaging. Both conservative and surgical treatment modalities are exposed, in the latter the main indications and complications are described, among which osteotomies and arthroplasties stand out. Conclusions: lateral gonarthrosis is the least common of the unicompartmental gonarthrosis that affect the knee joint. Clinical and imaging diagnosis provides the essential elements for both conservative and surgical therapeutic behaviour, the latter modality includes techniques that preserve the joint such as osteotomies and others that do not, such as arthroplasties.

External fixation in distal radius fractures

Background: Distal radius fractures are frequent in emergency departments, treatment is generally conservative, but there are patients who meet certain criteria of instability who need surgical treatment, including external fixation. Aim: To update on the most important elements regarding the use of external fixation in unstable fractures of the distal radius. Methods: The search and analysis of the information was carried out in a period of 30 days (from April 1 to April 30, 2021) and the following words were used: distal radius fractures, distal radius fractures and external fixation and unstable radius fractures from the information obtained, a bibliographic review of a total of 809 articles published in the PubMed databases, Hinari, SciELO and Medline was carried out using the search manager and EndNote reference manager, of which 44 selected citations were used to perform the review, 37 from the last five years. Development: The criteria to be taken into account for the instability described by various authors are indicated, as well as the imaging parameters. The two most used classification systems are mentioned. Reference is made to general surgical indications, external fixation, and placement of additional wires. Complications are discussed and a comparison is made between external fixation and blocked volar plates.

Utilization Of the Mendeley Application as Reference Manager For High School Teachers

This study aims to describe how the Mendeley application is used in writing scientific papers by teacher representatives and to see how the effectiveness of using the Mendeley application as a References Manager. The type of research used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out by observation and questionnaires. The instruments used to retrieve data were the observation sheet and questionnaire sheet. Data analysis was carried out by reducing the data from observations and questionnaires, then the data from the reduction results were then presented in the form of tables and descriptions, which were then concluded with the results. The results showed that the Mendeley application could be used easily by teachers in compiling articles and the effectiveness of the response to using the Mendeley application as a Reference Manager also received a high percentage of 83%. And the teacher's interest in using the Mendeley application is also high, namely 81%. This is because the teacher said that Mendeley was very easy to use and up to date.

PELATIHAN PENGGUNAAN APLIKASI MENDELEY BAGI MAHASISWA DALAM PENULISAN KARYA ILMIAH

Aturan terbaru dalam publikasi di jurnal terakreditasi dan jurnal internasional mengharuskan penulisan citasi dalam artikel dengan memamfaatkan citation & reference manager seperti Mendeley. Mahasiswa dalam pengamatan yang kami lakukan masih menulis citasi dan daftar pustaka dalam karya ilmiah dengan cara manual, kemudian belum mempunyai wawasan memamfaatkan Mendeley. Dampak dari pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini ialah untuk mengangkat bobot karya ilmiah mahasiswa dengan pendekatan kemampuan citasi. Pendekatan yang diterapkan ialah ceramah, praktek, dan tanya jawab. Adapun mitra pada program ini ialah mahasiswa Prodi Bahasa Inggris Semester V IAIN Takengon sebanyak 13 orang. Dampak kegiatan memperlihatkan adanya pemahaman baru dan peningkatan kemampuan peserta dalam mengoperasikan dan membuat kutipan dengan Mendeley, sehingga mahasiswa merasa mudah menulis dan terbangun drajat karya ilmiah.

Validation of Digital Applications for Evaluation of Visual Parameters: A Narrative Review

The current review aimed to collect and critically analyze the scientific peer-reviewed literature that is available about the use of digital applications for evaluation of visual parameters in electronic devices (tablets and smartphones), confirming if there are studies calibrating and validating each of these applications. Three bibliographic search engines (using the search equation described in the paper) and the Mendeley reference manager search engine were used to complete the analysis. Only articles written in English and that are evaluating the use of tests in healthy patients to measure or characterize any visual function aspects using tablets or smartphones were included. Articles using electronic visual tests to assess the results of surgical procedures or are conducted in pathological conditions were excluded. A total of 19 articles meeting these inclusion and exclusion criteria were finally analyzed. One critical point of all these studies is that there was no mention of the characterization (spatial and/or colorimetrical) of screens and the stimuli used in most of them. Only two studies described some level of calibration of the digital device before the beginning of the study. Most revised articles described non-controlled comparatives studies (73.7%), reporting some level of scientific evidence on the validation of tools, although more consistent studies are needed.

MENGOPTIMALKAN MANAJEMEN SITASI MENGGUNAKAN MENDELEY UNTUK PENULISAN ILMIAH PADA FAKULTAS TEKNOLOGI DAN INFORMATIKA UNIVERSITAS MATHLA'UL ANWAR

Karya ilmiah dapat berupa skripsi, tesis, disertasi, artikel yang dikirimkan ke jurnal serta tulisan lainnya merupakan bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dalam kegiatan akademik. Mencantumkan sitasi sangat penting dalam menulis karya ilmiah. Oleh karena itu perlunya di berikan pengetahuan cara mengoptimalkan software yang dapat membantu para Dosen dan mahasiswa dalam penyusunan sitasi, daftar pustaka, dan mengorganisir sumber pustaka yang dimiliki secara baik agar memudahkan dalam proses penulisan karya ilmiah menggunakan bantuan software tententu. Mendeley merupakan aplikasi citation and reference manager berguna dalam proses sitasi dan pengelola suatu referensi berbasis open source mendukung berbagai platform. Melalui kegiatan PkM yang dilaksanakan secara online melalui zoom meeting dan live www.youtube.com, diperoleh hasil melalui kuesioner respon balik dari peserta yaitu kegiatan ini dinilai baik sekali sebanyak 49%, dinilai baik sebanyak 41% , dinilai cukup sebanyak 7% , dinilai kurang sebanyak 3% dan dinilai kurang sekali sebanyak 0%.Dengan demikian diharapkan Dosen dan mahasiswa dapat menggunakan secara optimal software Mendeley untuk penulisan ilmiah dan semoga dapat meningkatkan kemampuan serta berkolaborasi dengan peneliti lain seluruh dunia.Kata kunci—karya ilmiah, mendeley, pengabdian masyarakat, manajemen referensi, sitasi.Scientific works can be in the form of theses, theses, dissertations, articles submitted to journals and other writings that are an integral part of academic activities. Including citations is very important in writing scientific papers. Therefore it is necessary to provide knowledge on how to optimize software that can help lecturers and students in compiling citations, bibliographies, and organizing well-owned library sourcesin orderto facilitate the process of writing scientific papers using the help of certain software. Mendeley is a citation and reference manager application that is useful in the citation process and an open source based reference manager supports various platforms. Through PkM activities carried out online through zoom meetings and live www.youtube.com, results were obtained through questionnaire responses fromparticipants, namely this activity was rated very good as much as 49%, considered good as much as 41%, considered sufficient as much as 7%, considered insufficient as much as 3%andwas deemed as lacking as much as 0%. Thus, it is hoped that lecturers and students can use Mendeley software optimally for scientific writing and hopefully it can improve their abilities and collaborate with other researchers around the world..Keywords— community service, citations, scientific works, Mendeley, reference management.

Philosophical Underpinnings of Disaster Risk Reduction Research: The Case for Social Constructivism

In response to the growing interdisciplinarity of disaster research, this paper explores the philosophical underpinnings of disaster research to a) elucidate the methodological choices that disaster researchers make b) reflect on how these different choices and philosophical approaches consider disaster risk, and c) provide arguments infavor of the application of social constructivism for improving the results of disaster research. It investigates the epistemological and ontological underpinnings of social constructivism and objectivism and reflects on how they are applied in disaster research through a review of the literature. For ease and to avoid repetitive duplication of the references, the endnote reference manager was used in this study, with all references employed in this study managed using the endnote library. APA 6th reference style is followed to manage and harmonized the bibliographic section. Its findings indicate that the objectivist approaches that dominated the field until the 1980s emphasized the role of science and technology in reducing disaster risk focused on the physical and natural elements of different disasters, and therefore lack certain applicability. As a counter, this paper argues that a discursive, social constructivist approach that considers disasters as socially framed, rooted, and constructed may provide more fruitful applications of disaster research.

Importancia de los referenciadores bibliográficos en la gestión de la información científica en tesistas universitarios

Gestionar la información científica en el proceso investigativo es un gran desafío para los tesistas universitarios debido a la dificultad de sistematizar y estructurar el exceso de información disponible en diferentes fuentes digitales o físicas. El objetivo del estudio fue analizar la importancia de los referenciadores bibliográficos como herramienta tecnológica para la gestión de la información científica en tesistas universitarios. Se llevó a cabo una revisión bibliográfica sistemática realizando búsquedas en bases de datos electrónicas de artículos científicos publicados en revistas indexadas a Latindex Catálogo, Scielo y Scopus entre los años 2016 y 2020. Los resultados de la revisión describen las características, funcionalidades, aspectos y estudios principales sobre los beneficios que brindan los referenciadores bibliográficos para gestionar la información científica. Concluimos que funciones como la organización de la información, citación y referenciación bibliográfica y colaboración entre investigadores proporcionados por los referenciadores bibliográficos, constituyen recursos importantes para los tesistas universitarios. Managing scientific information in the research process is a great challenge for university thesis students due to the difficulty of systematizing and structuring the excess of information available in different digital or physical sources. The objective of the study was to analyze the importance of reference manager as a technological tool for the management of scientific information in university theses students. We carried out a systematic bibliographic review by searching electronic databases of scientific articles published in journals indexed to Latindex Catalog, Scielo and Scopus between the years 2016 and 2020. The results of the review describe the characteristics, functionalities, aspects and studies main ones on the benefits that reference manager provide to manage scientific information. We conclude that functions such as the organization of information, bibliographic citation and referencing, and collaboration between researchers provided by reference manager, constitute important resources for university thesis students.

Workshop Literasi Digital menggunakan Reference Manager pada Masa Pandemi Covid-19

The level of knowledge of students and lecturers who are still not sufficiently knowledgeable in finding appropriate reference sources in making scientific papers is still happening at the Harapan Bersama Polytechnic. Currently, the number and quality of citation sources for writing a bibliography of a student's scientific work that is produced is about 80% unsuitable which results in not infrequently students and lecturers who still need to increase their knowledge of digital literacy. The proposed community service activity is a workshop activity to increase knowledge and ability in examining library sources as a literature study of scientific papers. In this activity, the reference manager introduction material was given as a tool to find library sources. The method used in this activity is to use the synchronous method through online media. The training provided provides increased knowledge for students and lecturers to better understand and be able to use Mendeley's reference management software as a tool in their search for digital literacy. The results of the evaluation of activities through interviews with participants, it shows that there is an increase in knowledge and a very good response from the training participants and wants the next training to be carried out again.Keywords: Increased Knowledge, Mendeley, Reference Manager, Workshop, Literation DigitalAbstrak. Tingkat pengetahuan mehasiswa dan dosen yang masih belum cukup pengetahuan dalam pencarian sumber referensi yang tepat dalam pembuatan karya tulis ilmiah masih terjadi di Politeknik Harapan Bersama. Saat ini, jumlah dan kualitas sumber sitasi penulisan daftar pustaka sebuah karya ilmiah yang dihasilkan sekiar 80% belum sesuai yang mengakibatkan tidak jarang mahasiswa dan dosen masih perlu meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang literasi digital. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang diusulkan adalah sebuah kegiatan workshop untuk menambah pengetahuan dan kemampuan dalam menelaah sumber pustaka sebagai studi pustaka karya ilmiah. Pada kegiatan tersebut diberikan mengenai materi pengenalan reference manager sebagai alat untuk mencari sumber pustaka. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah menggunakan metode sinkron melalui media online. Pelatihan yang diberikan memberikan peningkatan pengetahuan bagi mahasiswa dan dosen agar lebih memahami dan dapat menggunakan software pengelola referensi Mendeley sebagai alat bantu dalam pencarian literasi digital. Hasil evaluasi kegiatan melalui wawancara dengan peserta menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan respons yang sangat baik dari peserta diklat dan menginginkan agar workshop selanjutnya dilaksanakan kembali.Kata Kunci: Mendeley, Peningkatan Pengetahuan, Reference Manager, Workshop, Literasi Digital
