In rice–wheat rotation areas of China, traditional wheat seeders have severe blockage, low working efficiency and poor seeding quality. In this study, a pneumatic shooting technology was designed, consisting mainly of a nozzle, shell and acceleration tube. To improve the sowing depth of the pneumatic shooting device, the response-surface methodology of structure parameters and CFD simulation technology was adopted in this work. The effects of working pressure, acceleration-tube diameter and throat distance on the steady airflow length (SAL) and steady airflow velocity (SAV) were studied by airflow field analysis, and the response-surface method was introduced to obtain the optimal parameter combination of the pneumatic shooting device for wheat. The optimal parameter combination was working pressure 686 kPa, acceleration tube diameter 8 mm and throat distance 20 mm. The simulation result showed that the optimized device of pneumatic shooting performs faster and has more stable airflow field characteristics in comparison to the initial device. The field test demonstrated that the optimized device has about 68% higher seeding depth than the initial device. The average field-seeding depth of the optimized device was 19.95 mm, which is about 68% higher than the initial device. The emergence rate for the optimized device was about 88.7% without obvious reduction. CFD and response-surface methods positively affect the optimization of pneumatic wheat-shooting devices, and the significance was also confirmed.

In order to improve the dynamic performance of a truck dump mechanism, the optimal parameter combination of the dump mechanism is studied. In combination with Adams' own modeling work, the dump mechanism is simplified and modeled and simulated. The objective function is optimized with the minimum lifting force, and the parameter combination of the best position relationship of the dump mechanism is obtained. The simulation results show that Adams can accurately predict the optimal parameter combination of mechanical devices, which have certain reference value for engineering design.

Beam pumping unit is widely applied in the oilfield area. However, the falling process of the pumping unit horsehead causes large-amplitude variations of the motor torque and greatly reduces the efficiency of the system. This paper proposes a late-model hydraulic-electromotor hybrid system which can realize energy recovery and assist electromotor work. The hybrid system can improve the matching characteristics between the electromotor and the pumping unit. A mathematical model is built and verified by experiment studies. According to the experimental and simulation results, it can be concluded that energy recovery function of the designed hydraulic-electromotor hybrid system is demonstrated to be effective, and the electromotor can keep the output power stable. As the efficiency of the hybrid power system affects the energy-saving effect, this paper establishes the efficiency model of the system and studies the key parameters affecting the efficiency of the system through experiments and simulation. The key parameters include the minimum displacement ratio of the pump and hydraulic motor, working pressure, and transmission ratio. This paper proposes a parameter optimization design method of the hydraulic-electromotor hybrid system. Under the optimal parameter combination, the hydraulic-electromotor hybrid system efficiency can reach 92%, and the electric power transmission efficiency of the system can be raised to 75%.

Cylinder shell stiffened by rings is used commonly in submersibles, and structure strength should be verified in the initial design stage considering the thickness of the shell, the number of rings, the shape of ring section and so on. Based on the statistical techniques, a strategy for optimization design of pressure hull is proposed in this paper. Its central idea is that: firstly the design variables are chosen by referring criterion for structure strength, then the samples for analysis are created in the design space; secondly finite element models corresponding to the samples are built and analyzed; thirdly the approximations of these analysis are constructed using these samples and responses obtained by finite element model; finally optimization design result is obtained using response surface model. The result shows that this method that can improve the efficiency and achieve optimal intention has valuable reference information for engineering application.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to use the Taguchi Method for parametric design in the early stages of product development. electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) issues can be considered in the early stages of product design to reduce counter-measure components, product cost and labor consumption increases due to a number of design changes in the R&D cycle and to accelerate the R&D process. Design/methodology/approach The three EMC characteristics, including radiated emission, conducted emission and fast transient impulse immunity of power, are considered response values; control factors are determined with respect to the relevant parameters for printed circuit board and mechanical design of the product and peripheral devices used in conjunction with the product are considered as noise factors. The optimal parameter set is determined by using the principal component gray relational analysis in conjunction with both response surface methodology and artificial neural network. Findings Market specifications and cost of components are considered to propose an optimal parameter design set with the number of grounded screw holes being 14, the size of the shell heat dissipation holes being 3 mm and the arrangement angle of shell heat dissipation holes being 45 degrees, to dispose of 390 O filters on the noise source. Originality/value The optimal parameter set can improve EMC effectively to accommodate the design specifications required by customers and pass test regulations.
