The input part of the high-voltage test power supply is usually composed of switching devices; however, the pulse-type periodic interference caused by the switching devices makes the monitoring of the test power supply partial discharge more difficult. Therefore, this paper proposes a high-efficiency and distortion-free linear power supply based on piecewise-linearization with all N-type transistor. Under the same DC input, multiple power transistors are connected to different taps of the same transformer. By controlling the period of linear conduction of each power transistor in turn, we ensure that the power transistor works on the linear side (biased towards saturation) to reduce its conduction voltage drop and the output realizes sinusoidal piecewise linearization, so that the converter can greatly improve the system efficiency. After that, from the perspective of the lowest sum of the transistor loss, an optimization method for the design of the multi-winding transformer ratio at each stage is proposed. Finally, a power supply prototype based on four-piece linear converter with an output voltage of 220 V was built. The experimental efficiency reaches 87.03%, and, additionally, if the linear amplification is divided into more sections, the efficiency can be further improved.

The background of this paper is the power supply driven by High-voltage Static Synchronous Compensator series module, a kind of applicable to high voltage power module is proposed in this paper. Using High-voltage Static Synchronous Compensator, this device Switching Power Supply has the advantages of small in volume, light in weight, high efficiency and reliability. Compared with the high voltage of the insulation frequency transformer, this device overcoming many shortcomings, such as huge in volume and high price. This device is more suitable for distributed application, therefore it is very easy to realize multiple outputs of the power.

In this paper we present a highly integrated, high-temperature isolated, half-bridge power gate driver demo board, based on turnkey X-REL chipset: XTR26010 (High-Temperature Intelligent Gate Driver), XTR40010 (High-Temperature Isolated Two Channel Transceiver), XTR30010 (High-Temperature PWM Controller), and XTR2N0825 (High-Temperature 80V N-Channel Power MOSFET). The XTR26010 is the key circuit in this chipset for power gate drive application. The XTR26010 circuit has been designed with a high focus in offering a robust, reliable and efficient solution for driving a large variety of high-temperature, high-voltage, and high-efficiency power transistors (SiC, GaN, Si) existing in the market. Furthermore, the XTR26010 circuit implements an unprecedented functionality for high-temperature drivers allowing safe operation at system level by preventing any cross-conduction between high-side and low-side switches, through isolated communication between high-side and low-side drivers. The XTR40010 is used for isolated data communication between a microcontroller or a PWM controller with the power driver (XTR26010). For supplying the half-bridge gate driver, a compact isolated flyback power supply has been developed thanks to the versatile voltage mode PWM controller XTR30010 and the XT2N0825 N-Channel MOSFET. The full system has been successfully tested while driving different brands of SiC MOSFETs up to Ta=200°C, 600kHz of switching frequency and 600V high-voltage bus (limited by isolation transformers used). The demo board presented can be easily modified to drive other SiC and GaN transistors available in the market. The 200°C limitation of the demo board is due to passives, PCB material, and the solder paste used. However, all X-REL active circuits have been qualified within specifications well above 230°C.

As for the wide application of arc suppression coil to the grounding in neutral point of mine high voltage grid, grid leakage fault rules and harmonic characteristics of the neutral point grounding system through arc suppression coil are analyzed, the selective leakage protection program “zero-sequence voltage starts, fifth harmonics of grid zerosequence voltage and zero-sequence current are extracted for phase comparison” is proposed, and corresponding fifth harmonic extraction circuit and power direction discrimination circuit are designed. The experimental results show that the protective principle applies not only to the neutral point insulated power supply system, but also to the power supply system in which neutral point passes arc suppression coil, which can solve selective leakage protection problems under different neutral grounding ways, improving the reliability of selective leakage and guaranteeing the stability of the action value.

As being restricted by factors such as cost, efficiency and size, the development of high-power solar LED street light controller is faced with plenty of difficulties. In case that a structure of two independent DC/DC is applied as the main circuit, it has to face problems such as large size and high cost; in case of applying the bidirectional BUCK/BOOST circuit, it requires change-over switches to control the solar panel and LED light. As being restricted by withstanding voltage, on-resistance and cost, a PMOS device cannot be used as the change-over switch of solar panel and LED light. However, when being used as a change-over switch, an NMOS device must apply the low-side mode under which the negative ends of the mentioned three parts are cut off. In the condition of applying the low-side mode, a differential circuit must be used to detect the voltage of the solar panel. Furthermore, in order to make sure batteries can still be regularly charged after wearing out in daylight, the controller must be supplied with power through a dual power supply circuit that can obtain power from both the solar panel and the battery. The demander has a requirement on extremely low standby power consumption of the product, and thus it is necessary to minimize the circuit that is live while working in standby mode. Methods: The bidirectional BUCK/BOOST circuit structure is applied to the main circuit to realize a higher change-over efficiency while giving considerations to both cost and size. The NMOS device, model IRFB4410ZPBF, with a price of about three yuan, is used as the switching device, and the low-side mode is applied, that is the switches inserted in between negative end of the solar panel or LED light and that of the DC/DC circuit. The low-cost rail-to-rail operational amplifier LM358 is used to form a differential amplification circuit for detecting the voltage of the solar panel. A XL1509-12E1 chip that only costs 0.88 yuan/pc is selected as the main change-over chip for the power supply, which has realized the highly-efficient and low-cost change-over of the power supply. A dual power supply circuit and a step-down protective circuit are designed for the XL1509-12E1 change-over chip. By comparing solar panel voltage with battery voltage, the solar panel booting circuit is realized. Only when solar panel voltage is higher than battery voltage, does the system program start to power it up for running, so that the outage of most of the circuits of the system under standby mode does not consume energy. Furthermore, the solar panel voltage detecting circuit, the solar panel booting circuit and several return difference functions are corrected during system debugging. Results: The circuit board of the entire controller features small size, low cost and high efficiency. It measures about 100*62*18mm in size, costs about 60 yuan, and the charge/discharge change-over efficiency reaches up to over 95%. The controller has many functions: it is capable of operating within a large scope, in which, solar panel voltage is subject to 15~50V, LED light voltage is subject to 15~60V, battery voltage is subject to 10~35V and battery-end charge/discharge current is 10A; it is capable of adapting to monocrystalline silicon/multicrystalline silicon/thin-film and many other kinds of solar panels, as well as lithium/lead-acid and many other kinds of batteries; it is capable of detecting the conversion of day and night, automatically controlling charging and discharging and automatically making adaptive adjustment according to seasonal variations; the current to be consumed during standby will be maintained below 3mA, and thus the power consumption is extremely low. Conclusion: By selecting the bidirectional BUCK/BOOST circuit structure, applying low-side mode for switching of solar panel and LED light, using a differential circuit to detect solar panel voltage, using a low-cost DC/DC chip to realize power supply change-over, designing a dual power supply circuit, introducing solar panel booting circuit and other hardware design, as well as MPPT algorithm, state recognition and control, return difference control and other software design, a solar LED street light control product featuring small size, low cost, high efficiency and multiple functions is successfully developed.
