Since the eighties, technological tools have modified how people interact in their environment. At the same time, occupational safety and health measures have been widely applied. The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work considers that information and communication technologies are the main methods to achieve the goals proposed to improve working life and the dissemination of good practices. The principal objective was to determine the trends of publications focused on these technologies and occupational safety in the healthcare sector during the last 30 years. A bibliometric study was carried out. The 1021 documents showed an increased trend per country, especially for the United States (p < 0.001) and year (p < 0.001). The citations per year showed significant differences between citations of articles published before 2007 (p < 0.001). The year was also linked to the increase or decrease of articles (72.2%) and reviews (14.9%) (p < 0.001). The analysis of journal co-citations also showed that the main journals (such as Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology) were linked to other important journals and had a major part in the clusters formed. All these findings were discussed in the manuscript and conclusions were drawn.

The article deals with theoretical approaches to shaping information and communication competence of future lecturers of professional education (occupational safety and health) during professional training in higher education institutions, in particular through the course on pedagogy of higher education. The concept of the information and communication competence is defined as a special quality, which requires future specialists to have relevant knowledge, abilities and skills to navigate in information space with the aim to obtain and apply information sources and information and communication technologies in future professional activities. It is found that vocational training of future lecturers of professional education (occupational safety and health) should be aimed at shaping information and communication competence. Therefore, it is important that innovative information and communication technologies should be incorporated in the educational process. It is clarified that the process of shaping information and communication competence of future lecturers of professional education (occupational safety and health) should be understood as a professional ability to navigate in information space in order to obtain (search, select and analyze) information sources and effectively apply information and communication technologies in future professional activities. It is specified that there are some effective ways to shape information and communication competence of future lecturers of professional education (occupational safety and health) through the course on pedagogy of higher education during professional training in higher education institutions. Thus, master students in professional education (015 Occupational safety and health) from Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi Hryhorii Skovoroda State Pedagogical University were involved in the research. It is proved that the effective method of shaping information and communication competence of future lecturers of professional education (occupational safety and health) is the project method, which combines theoretical knowledge and their practical application when solving professional problems. It contributes to developing cognitive skills, shaping the ability to independently construct their knowledge, navigate information space, etc.

Laburpena: Azterlan honen xede nagusia da irakurleari deskonexio digitalaren eskubidearen inguruan azterketa juridiko eta pentsakor bat eskaintzea. Izan ere, oraintsuko lege harrerako irudia da, lanadiaren muturreko malgutasunarekin alderatuz, informazio eta komunikazio teknologiek bultzatuta (langileari etengabeko prestutasuna sortzen baitio eta, horren ondorioz, bere berme nagusi batzuk kaltetzen ditu). Horretarako, hasieran arreta bere konfigurazioan, artikulazioan eta ondorioetan oinarrituko da. Ondoren, erkidegoko enplegu publikoan azterketa espezifiko bat egingo da, egiaztatzeko alde batetik, eskumen horri emandako trataera testuinguru zehatz horretan. Eta, beste alde batetik, lotuta dagoen oinarrizko beste alderdi batuzekin jarritako modua;esate baterako, eskainitako zerbitzuen denbora, soldata, uztarketa, telelana, segurtasuna eta ingurune profesionaleko osasusna edo diziplina-araubidea. Era honetan, ikuspegi osoa eta eredugarria erraztu nahi da eraikitze-fasean dagoen gai baten inguruan eta ondorioztatuko den bezala, zehaztasun- eta garapen-maila handiagoa behar du legegilearen aldetik. Abstract: The main objective of this study is to offer the reader a reflective and legal analysis of the right to «digital disconnection», a figure recently incorporated into law as a counterbalance to the extreme flexibility of the working hours, promoted by information and communication technologies (capable of causing permanent availability of the workers and, consequently, the degradation of some of their main labour guarantees). First of all, the attention will focus on its configuration, articulation and effects. Secondly, the situation in public sector employment will be specifically examined, to verify, on the one hand, the treatment given to that prerogative in this particular context and, on the other hand, how it relates to other basic aspects: working hours, salary, work-life balance, teleworking, occupational safety and health or the disciplinary regime. At the end, the reader will have a complete and ilustrative vision on an issue under construction and that needs further concretion and legal development.

This chapter explains the puzzling 2013 agreement of the UN Group of Governmental Experts (GGE) on cybersecurity that existing international law applies to state military use of information and communication technologies (ICTs), and the 2015 GGE report that extended the consensus reached in 2013. These important developments in the emergence of rules and norms for cyberspace took place despite deteriorating relations between the United States and Russia. They also took place despite increasing global contention over Internet governance and cybersecurity issues more broadly, and occurred with less controversy than related (but lower-priority) Internet governance issues. The chapter argues that the 2013 and 2015 GGE reports were reached in large part as a result of a conscious process of rule-making and interpretation structured by agreed-upon secondary rules, and that the timing of the agreements reflected emerging consensus among participants despite remaining divergence on substantive preferences about governance arrangements for cyberspace.

This chapter examines the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) by Mexican immigrant families living in the United States to care for their aged left-behind parents and grandparents suffering from poor health. It introduces the concepts of ‘rescue chain’ and ‘care talk’ to account for the interplay between ICTs and transnational families. Drawing on the stories of ten participants, the chapter considers how Mexican immigrants and their siblings, locally and abroad, form rescue chains to deliver care to ageing left-behind parents with health problems through ICTs. It shows that the rescue chain communication involves care talk that focused on protecting, providing, and proving that the care needs of the person in crisis were addressed. The chapter also reviews the literature on ageing and long-distance caring through ICTs, discusses theories on care and ageing, and explains the methodology and sources used in the study.

Introduction:Information and communication technologies (ICTs) are devices, services and knowledge that reproduce, process and distribute information. Psychotherapy has been influenced by these technologies, and there is a tendency for their role to expand. Objective: To describe the current panorama of the scientific literature on psychotherapy and ICTs.Method: This is a systematic and descriptive review. Searches were run on the electronic databases Biblioteca Virtual em Saude (BVS), PsycINFO, Scopus, PePSIC, ScienceDirect and Index Psi, using the Boolean operator AND and the descriptors psychotherapy, computers, Internet, cell phones and social networks. Results: A considerable volume of empirical research was found, published recently in many different parts of the world, especially in the United States. There is very little Brazilian research on the subject. The majority of the studies identified assess the efficacy or describe the development of techniques and psychotherapies, via ICTs, for prevention, diagnosis or treatment of mental and behavioral disorders. The psychopathology most investigated in this area is depression and it was not possible to draw conclusions on a possible trend for research into the subject to increase. The technology most investigated was the Internet and cognitive-behavioral therapy was the most common theoretical approach in these studies. Conclusions:Systematic reviews of published studies can detect gaps in the research agenda within a specific field of knowledge.

The relentless onslaught of computers and communications technologies has recently descended on the healthcare industry. Fortunately, however, the utilization of technologies in healthcare delivery and administration could not be timelier because of the need to control escalating health costs. While the proliferation of information and communication technologies in healthcare, referred to as health management information systems (HMIS), is certainly long overdue in healthcare organizations (HCOs), it is important to recognize and be prepared for the vulnerabilities of these technologies to natural, technological, and man‐made disasters. This paper describes how HCOs have justifiably become dependent on HMIS and how these organizations may proactively plan for disasters which can impact on HMIS. A phased approach, referred to as the disaster recovery and business continuity (DRBC) planning model, is presented in the paper as an approach to develop and implement business continuity plans in HCOs.

ABSTRACT: The purpose of this article is the feasibility of telework as an alternative to the global situations we live in. Characterized by the relocation of work and the use of information and communication technologies, the adaptation of this working model implies the possibility of achieving advantages for all the integral parts of the working relationship and for society at large, from productivity and work flexibility to motivation and satisfaction. However, it presents significant occupational safety and occupational health challenges that need to be addressed. Overall, how the regulatory and regulatory issues have been addressed has not gone beyond the extension of existing home-working legislative provisions towards telework, leaving thematic gaps in trade union relations, domestic and labour risks at home and technology-related costs. Keywords: Telework, Technologies, Flexibility, Security.

The discussion of norms and international security ahead of us will be paved with fundamental differences between cyber superpowers—the United States, China and Russia—about the pace and direction of further adoption and use of information and communication technologies (ICTs). These differences, combined with dogmatic gaps between international and national law, and international and national policy, all constitute obvious apertures for malicious and hostile actors to achieve their goals. Our normative attention to ICTs needs to be both hard and soft, high and low, national and international, reactive and anticipatory, all at the same time.

Due to the importance that the Internet has gained as a means of communication, literature on political communication has incorporated it as one of its preferred topics of focus. Literature stems almost entirely from Europe and the United States. Very little is known about the political use of new information and communication technologies (NICTs) in other parts of the world. The present chapter aims to provide evidence in that line, starting from the study of the incorporation of the Chilean political parties to the Internet. In specific, the following questions are answered: In what extent do factors such as the organizational characteristics of the political parties explain their greater or lesser adoption of NICTs? What do parties use NICTs for? Furthermore, although briefly, the authors will try to answer the question whether the parties have experienced change in their interaction with the citizenry and their bases because of the usage of NICTs.
