Multi-enzyme cascade catalysis involved three types of dehydrogenase enzymes, namely, formate dehydrogenase (FDH), formaldehyde dehydrogenase (FaldDH), alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH), and an equimolar electron donor, nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH), assisting the reaction is an interesting pathway to reduce thermodynamically stable molecules of CO2 from the atmosphere. The biocatalytic sequence is interesting because it operates under mild reaction conditions (low temperature and pressure) and all the enzymes are highly selective, which allows the reaction to produce three basic chemicals (formic acid, formaldehyde, and methanol) in just one pot. There are various challenges, however, in applying the enzymatic conversion of CO2, namely, to obtain high productivity, increase reusability of the enzymes and cofactors, and to design a simple, facile, and efficient reactor setup that will sustain the multi-enzymatic cascade catalysis. This review reports on enzyme-aided reactor systems that support the reduction of CO2 to methanol. Such systems include enzyme membrane reactors, electrochemical cells, and photocatalytic reactor systems. Existing reactor setups are described, product yields and biocatalytic productivities are evaluated, and effective enzyme immobilization methods are discussed.

Reductive functionalization of CO2 with amines and a reductant, which combines both reduction of CO2 and C–N bond formation in one pot to produce versatile chemicals and energy-storage materials such as formamides, aminals, and methylamines that are usually derived from petroleum feedstock, would be appealing and promising. Herein, we give a brief review on recent developments in the titled CO2 chemistry by employing transition-metal-free catalysis, which can be catalogued as below according to the diversified energy content of the products, that is formamides, aminals, and methylamines being consistent with 2-, 4-, and 6-electron reduction of CO2, respectively. Notably, hierarchical reduction of CO2 with amines to afford at least two products, for example, formamides and methylamines, could be realized with the same catalyst through tuning the hydrosilane type, reaction temperature, or CO2 pressure. Finally, the opportunities and challenges of the reductive functionalization of CO2 with amines are also highlighted.1 Introduction2 2-Electron Reduction of CO2 to Formamide3 6-Electron Reduction of CO2 to Methylamine4 4-Electron Reduction of CO2 to Aminal5 Hierarchical Reduction of CO2 with Amines6 Conclusion

Kata kunci: Ciri kerja; prestasi kerja; teknologi maklumat; sektor awam This study analyzed job characteristics and performance of Information Technology professionals at the Information Technology centers of the public sector of Malaysia. Job characteristics were analyzed based on the Job Characteristics Model by Hackman and Oldham. Performance on the other hand was analyzed using a simplified Behavior Identification Form, originally developed by Butterbusch in 1985. The relationship between job characteristic and performance was determined using the Mann–Whitney U test. Job characteristics showed a high score on job significance and dealing with others but low on task authority. Job performance showed high productivity and high social behavior but low on work habit and attitudes. This research found that there is a significant relationship between job characteristics and performance of Information Technology professionals of the Malaysian public sector departments. Key words: Job characteristics; job performance; information technology; public sector departments
