The use of low-dimensional materials is a promising approach to improve the key characteristics of memristors. The development process includes modeling, but the question of the most common compact model applicability to the modeling of device characteristics with the inclusion of low-dimensional materials remains open. In this paper, a comparative analysis of linear and nonlinear drift as well as threshold models was conducted. For this purpose, the assumption of the relationship between the results of the optimization of the volt–ampere characteristic loop and the descriptive ability of the model was used. A global random search algorithm was used to solve the optimization problem, and an error function with the inclusion of a regularizer was developed to estimate the loop features. Based on the characteristic features derived through meta-analysis, synthetic volt–ampere characteristic contours were built and the results of their approximation by different models were compared. For every model, the quality of the threshold voltage estimation was evaluated, the forms of the memristor potential functions and dynamic attractors associated with experimental contours on graphene oxide were calculated.

Simulated annealing is a well-known search algorithm used with success history in many search problems. However, the random walk of the simulated annealing does not benefit from the memory of visited states, causing excessive random search with no diversification history. Unlike memory-based search algorithms such as the tabu search, the search in simulated annealing is dependent on the choice of the initial temperature to explore the search space, which has little indications of how much exploration has been carried out. The lack of exploration eye can affect the quality of the found solutions while the nature of the search in simulated annealing is mainly local. In this work, a methodology of two phases using an automatic diversification and intensification based on memory and sensing tools is proposed. The proposed method is called Simulated Annealing with Exploratory Sensing. The computational experiments show the efficiency of the proposed method in ensuring a good exploration while finding good solutions within a similar number of iterations.

AbstractMatsumoto, Saito and Matoba recently proposed the Walsh figure of merit (WAFOM), which is a computable criterion for quasi-Monte Carlo point sets using digital nets. Several algorithms have been proposed for finding low-WAFOM point sets. In the existing algorithms, the number of points is fixed in advance, but extensible point sets are preferred in some applications. In this paper, we propose a random search algorithm for extensible low-WAFOM point sets. For this, we introduce a method that uses lookup tables to compute WAFOM faster. Numerical results show that our extensible low-WAFOM point sets are comparable with Niederreiter–Xing sequences for some low-dimensional and smooth test functions.

Since nature is an excellent source of inspiration for optimization methods, many optimization algorithms have been proposed, are inspired by nature, and are modified to solve various optimization problems. This paper uses metaheuristics in a new field inspired by nature; more precisely, we use pollination optimization in cocoa plants. The cocoa plant was chosen as the object since its flower type differs from other kinds of flowers, for example, by using cross-pollination. This complex relationship between plants and pollinators also renders pollination a real-world problem for chocolate production. Therefore, this study first identified the underlying optimization problem as a deferred fitness problem, where the quality of a potential solution cannot be immediately determined. Then, the study investigates how metaheuristic algorithms derived from three well-known techniques perform when applied to the flower pollination problem. The three techniques examined here are Swarm Intelligence Algorithms, Individual Random Search, and Multi-Agent Systems search. We then compare the behavior of these various search methods based on the results of pollination simulations. The criteria are the number of pollinated flowers for the trees and the amount and fairness of nectar pickup for the pollinator. Our results show that Multi-Agent System performs notably better than other methods. The result of this study are insights into the co-evolution of behaviors for the collaborative pollination task. We also foresee that this investigation can also help farmers increase chocolate production by developing methods to attract and promote pollinators.

Хронические индуцированные крапивницы имеют важное социально-экономическое значение вследствие риска развития системных реакций и значительного снижения качества жизни пациентов. Диагностика хронических индуцированных крапивниц основывается на анамнестических данных и проведении провокационных тестов. Современный протокол ведения больных хронической крапивницей включает применение неседативных антигистаминных препаратов. Международные согласительные документы по лечению крапивницы рекомендуют 4-кратное увеличение суточной дозы неседативных антигистаминных препаратов при их неэффективности в стандартных дозах. Данные мета-анализа указывают на эффективность омализумаба при хронических индуцированных крапивницах. В перспективе ожидается расширение арсенала генно-инженерной биологической терапии хронических индуцированных крапивниц.Chronic inducible urticarias are characterized by the risks of systemic reactions and a significant impairment of patients quality of life. The diagnosis of chronic inducible urticarias relies on the patients history and the challenge tests. A treatment algorithm for the management of chronic inducible urticarias includes nonsedating antihistamines as a first-line treatment. The international guidelines for the management of chronic inducible urticarias recommend updosing of nonsedating antihistamines up to four fold if standard doses are not effective. The meta-analysis suggests the efficacy of omalizumab in chronic inducible urticarias. In the prospect, the novel options of biological therapy for chronic inducible urticarias are expected.
