The COVID-19 pandemic has had a great impact on the fitness centers industry. The purpose of this study is to analyze the preference of gym-goers on fitness centers in the Philippines during the COVID-19 pandemic by utilizing a conjoint analysis approach. One thousand gym-goers voluntarily participated in this study and answered 22 queries created from the orthogonal design. The results indicated that Price was the highest attribute considered (21.59%), followed by Ventilation (17.56%), Service (16.59%), Trainer (14.63%), Payment Method (11.95%), Operating Hours (8.90%), and Login (8.70%). The results also indicated that comfort, security, and fitness center services were the main aspects that gym-goers would consider as their main preference. The study highlighted how gym-goers are sensitive to the price set by the fitness centers. Moreover, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ventilation and size are considered highly important attributes among gym-goers. Comfort, safety, and security are the main consideration to have sustainable fitness centers during and even after the COVID-19 pandemic. The outcome of this study may benefit fitness centers and increase their business market by considering the preference of customers. Finally, the result of this study can be utilized by fitness centers to promote a generalized fitness center for gym-goers of different generations, statuses, and even socioeconomic status during and even after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Milk tea is a famous drink that has been heavily consumed since 2011. This study aimed to determine the combination of milk tea attributes that were most preferred using a Conjoint Analysis Approach. Specifically, this study utilized different attributes such as the size of tapioca pearls, sugar level, price range, brands, type of milk tea, cream cheese inclusion, and the amount of ice. Conjoint analysis with the orthogonal design was utilized to evaluate the preference of milk tea among consumers. The results showed that pearl size was the attribute most considered by consumers (29.137%), followed by sugar level (17.373%), the amount of ice (17.190%), the type of drink (13.421%), price (11.207%), and the least considered were cream cheese inclusion (9.525%) and the brands (2.147%). The findings of this study will be beneficial to milk tea firms about consumer preferences regarding the various attributes of milk tea. Finally, the result of this study could be applicable to different beverage-focused studies worldwide.

ABSTRACT The entry of smartphones into our lives is due to two primary reasons – the rapid advancement in technology and R & D, making present technology redundant within weeks and the drastic drop in prices of smartphones which occur weekly or monthly. The objectives of this paper are: (1) To provide a more holistic view of smartphone users' preference (2) To have depth analysis on how consumers put a premium on various smartphone features application and tools (3) To understand how prospective customers appreciate the good features of the product. Three statistical tools were used: Frequency Distribution to get the profile of the respondent's actual usage of smartphones and attitudes of consumers, Pearson Correlation, and Conjoint analysis, which was used to analyze the preference of the respondents on smartphone attributes. This study showed a moderately fit conjoint model, Pearson R =.742, p<.05, Kendall's Tau was .333, p<.05 and .333, p< .05 for the holdouts. From the given set of attributes, price (47.11%) is the most important, followed by the SIM card slot (19.05%), and the phone plan (9.14%). This paper is the first study done in the Philippines about the usage, attitudes of consumers towards smartphones using conjoint analysis. The analysis would help companies to understand what aspects of their products are essential and irrelevant. Companies will act upon a certain aspect to ensure higher profitability. Obesity, hypertension, and diabetes have risen dramatically in Asia, but few cohort studies track age and secular trends in these conditions. We use Cebu (The Philippines) Longitudinal Health and Nutrition survey data to document 1998 to 2015 prevalence and co-occurrence of body mass index (BMI; >25 kg/m2), high waist circumference (WC; >80 cm), elevated blood pressure (EBP; systolic ⩾130 or diastolic ⩾85 mm Hg), and type 2 diabetes among ~2000 women aged 29 to 62 years in 1998; and identify their relationship to community, household, and individual factors using longitudinal logistic regression. Prevalence (1998-2015) rates were 35% to 49%, BMI >25 kg/m2; 32% to 58% high WC; 21% to 59% EBP; and 2% to 14% diabetes. Only 20% of women had none of these conditions in 2015. Diabetes was strongly driven by age and secular trends in high WC related to higher socioeconomic status and urbanization. Hypertension increased with age in lower socioeconomic status rural and more affluent urban women. Results underscore the continuing need for public health measures to prevent obesity and to identify and treat hypertension and diabetes.

The paper presents the results of a brief analysis of functional planning solutions of existing fitness centers on the example of buildings in St. Petersburg. The main functional zones and main types of placement are considered. The analysis of the functional content of fitness centers is made, which results in the definition of the concept of a fitness center as an independent structure; options for placing fitness centers in other structures and as independent objects are described; the composition of the main functional zones is determined; the functional content of fitness centers is systematized.
