The main purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between life satisfaction and leisure satisfaction of individuals participating leisureactivities within outdoor recreation.A total of 500 individuals, (females n = 298 and males n = 202) aged 12 to 65 participated in this study, who were interested in outdoor recreation in parks in London, England. The research sample was randomly selected. These participants were individuals that participated outdoor recreation and leisure activities as a volunteer.Within the scope of the survey study, two different scales were used. At the same time,demographic variables of participants were questioned. The questionnaire form consisted of the following two scales; “The Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS)” developed by Diener et al. (1985) adapted to Turkish by Köker and Yetim (1991), and “Leisure Satisfaction Scale (LSS)” developed by Beard &Ragheb (1980) adapted to Turkish by Gökçe (2008).For an initial statistical representation of the data, descriptive and frequency analyses were performed. Pearson correlation coefficients were utilized to determine and interpret the existence and degree of correlations between scale mean scores. According to the findings of the study, a significantly moderate level of correlation was observed between participants’ level of life satisfaction and leisure satisfaction (r: ,36; p< .05).The results of the study show that individuals participating in outdoor recreation (parks) have a high level of life satisfaction and quality of life which in return provides positive psychological and physiological gains. In addition, individuals participating in outdoor recreation with a high level of leisure satisfaction are also expected to have a high level of life satisfaction. Thus, local authorities are suggested to pay special attention and focus on recreational activities and management of recreational areas such as parks.

The present study is aimed at determining coach athlete relationships, perceived school experiences and sports life satisfaction levels of athlete high school students and to examine the levels based on certain variables. The sample of the research consisted of a total of 306 students, 117 (38.2%) male and 189 (61.8%) female, who continued their education at different high schools in Trabzon in the 2019-2020. "Personal Information Form" designed by the researcher, “The Coach-Athlete Relationship Questionnaire (CART-Q),” “The Sport-Specific Satisfaction with Life Scale (SSWLS)” and “Perceived School Experiences Scale (PSES)” were used as data collection tools in the research. In the statistical method of the study, descriptive statistics, t-test, pearson correlation tests and regression tests were used. In the research findings, while there was a significant difference in the sub-dimensions of the coach-athlete relationship and sportive life satisfaction according to gender, no significant difference was found in the perceived school experiences. A significant difference was found in all scales and sub-dimensions according to the status of playing in the school team. As a result, a high level of positive correlation was found between the coach-athlete relationship and sportive life satisfaction, and between perceived school experiences and sportive life satisfaction. In addition, another important result is that the coach-athlete relationship (51%) and school experiences (32%) have important roles in predicting the satisfaction with sportive life.

The purpose of this study is to compare emotional intelligence levels of students studying in 2017-2018 summer school of Balıkesir University School of Physical Education and Sports with their life satisfaction by some demographic characteristics. This is a descriptive study. The research population is composed of 865 students studying in 2017-2018 summer school of Balıkesir University School of Physical Education and Sports and the sample is composed of randomly selected 292 students. In the study, “Emotional Intelligence Inventory in Sports” developed by Shutte et al. (1998), revised and adapted by Lane et al. (2009) for use in sports with Turkish reliability and validity performed by Adiloğulları and Görgülü (2015) and 5-point Likert type scale “The Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS)” developed by Diener et al. (1985) with the purpose of determining the life satisfaction of people and adapted into Turkish by Durak et al. (2010) were used. General reliability value of emotional intelligence scale was found as α=0.927 and the same value of life satisfaction scale was determined as α=0.819, indicating a high level of reliability. Anova, Kruskal Wallis test, Jonckheere-Terpstra test were used in data analysis. All analyses were conducted with SPSS v17.0 (SPSS Science, Chicago, IL, USA).In conclusion, it has been determined that emotional intelligence levels of the participants differ by the variable of age in the dimension of use of emotions, by the variable of department in the dimensions of evaluation of one’s own feelings and social skills and there is a difference by the variable of age regarding life satisfaction. It has also been established that there isn’t any relation between the emotional intelligence levels and life satisfaction of individuals.

This research aims to explore the relationship between career decision regret, job satisfaction and life satisfaction aswell as determining whether career decision regret significantly predicts job satisfaction and life satisfaction. Havinga descriptive research design, the research has employed relational survey model. The population of the researchholds a total of 7671 teachers and administrators who work at pre-school education institutions, primary, secondaryand high schools located within the central provinces of Kahramanmaraş. The research sample consists of 365participants who have been selected through a random sampling method. The research has deployed “CareerDecision Regret Scale”, “Job Satisfaction Scale” and “Satisfaction with Life Scale”. Independent groups t-test,one-way ANOVA test, Pearson correlation and regression analysis have been used during data analysis. Researchresults have revealed that teachers’ and school administrators’ career decision regret is at “a little” level; they haveexperienced a medium level of general, intrinsic and extrinsic satisfaction; they are at the level of “neither agree nordisagree" in terms of life satisfaction; there is a negative and medium level relation between career decision regretand life satisfaction and between career decision regret and job satisfaction; a significant, positive and medium levelrelation between job satisfaction and life satisfaction; career decision regret is a significant predictor of jobsatisfaction and life satisfaction; 25% of the total variance of job satisfaction and 22% of the total variance of lifesatisfaction level of teachers are explained by career decision regret.

The aim of this study is to examine the psychological resilience in teacher candidates in terms of sense of humor and life satisfaction. Correlational research model was used in the study. The dependent variable of the research is psychological resilience and independent variables are sense of humor and life satisfaction. The research was carried out on 427 teacher candidates between the ages of 18-27, 318 females (74.5%) and 109 males (25.5%). The Resilience Scale for Adults, The Multidimensional Sense of Humor Scale, The Satisfaction with Life Scale and Personal Information Form were used to collect data. Descriptive statistics, independent groups t-test, variance analysis, Pearson correlation coefficient and hierarchical regression analysis were used to analyze the data. When the findings of the study are analyzed, it is seen that psychological resilience in terms of gender differs significantly in favor of female teacher candidates. A positive relationship was found between teacher candidates' psychological resilience and sense of humor. In addition, a positive relationship was found between psychological resilience and life satisfaction. Looking at the findings, it is seen that the variables of sense of humor and life satisfaction predict psychological resilience significantly. The findings were discussed according to the literature and various suggestions were presented.

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is on human health and other aspects of human life. The government's most common action to prevent the spread of the infection is mobility restriction. The implication of this mobility restriction is the limitation of social activities can be done. Mobility restriction was implemented in Jakarta and its surrounding cities and impacted more than 20 million people. The previous study showed that mobility restriction impacted people's happiness and life satisfaction. After one year of COVID-19 measure implementation, is the adaption effect applied? This study aims to see whether, after one year of the COVID-19 pandemic, people are starting to adapt, and their well-being level is improving compared to the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. A survey was conducted in February - March 2021. Happiness and satisfaction with life were measured using the Subjective Happiness Scale and Satisfaction with Life Scale. The reliability and validity of measures were analyzed with SPSS. The study reveals that the participant's happiness level was only slightly happy, and the level of satisfaction was only slightly satisfied. The participants claim that their happiness has deteriorated during mobility restriction (58%). Fifty-eight percent felt their satisfaction has deteriorated. The student's group is shown as the most impacted group in their happiness and life satisfaction scale.

Aim: It is known that recreational activities have positive effects on people's emotions, thoughts, morale and many other issues. The aim of this study was to measure students’ participation in recreational activities, life satisfaction and the meaning of leisure activities to the students in the Faculty of Sport Sciences at Akdeniz University.Method: A total of 252 students (60.3% male, 39.7% female) participated in the study. As data collection instruments, Turkish version (Köker, 1991) of Life Satisfaction Scale (LSS), which was developed by Diener et al. (1985), and Turkish version (Gürbüz et al., 2007) of Leisure Meanings Inventory (LMI) (Esteve et al., 1999) were used. SPSS Package program was used in the study. ANOVA was used in the data analysis.Findings: According to the findings of Leisure Meanings Inventory by classes, there was a statistically significant difference (p <0.005) among the groups. . This difference appears to be between sophomores and juniors when examined on a class-by-class basis. According to the findings of Leisure Meanings Inventory with regard to departments, it was noted that there was very little difference between them, although there was a difference in the averages. This difference was not statistically significant though. There was no statistically significant difference between groups regarding class and department variables according to the findings of Life Satisfaction Scale.Conclusion: The results of this study showed that there was a significant difference between sophomores and juniors while there was no significant difference between freshmen and seniors according to the LMI averages. There was no significant difference between the mean scores of LSS among the classes.

Introduction: Life satisfaction reflects an individual's overall feelings about life, influenced by various factors. Objective: This study aimed to identify and introduce the indices related to the living environment that affect life satisfaction. Materials and Methods: This study was performed on 1000 residents of 55 neighborhoods of Rasht City (north of Iran) by an analytical cross-sectional method. The participants were chosen with a multistage cluster sampling method. The study data were collected using questionnaires, including the residents' characteristics, indicators of the living environment, and the satisfaction with life scale. The obtained data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, and inferential statistics, including the Pearson correlation coefficient, independent t test, analysis of variance, and linear regression. Results: Based on the present study results, the mean±SD age of the subjects in the study was 43.73 ±15.55 years. The analysis showed that their level of life satisfaction was average mean ±SD: 19.41 ±7.63, range: 5-35). The regression analysis identified dissatisfaction of facilities (B= -0.366; 95%Cl : -0.434, -0.298; P= 0.001), satisfaction with living in the local area (B= 0.248; Cl: 0.123, 0.373; P= 0.001), duration of residence (B: -0.364;95% Cl: -0.625, -0.102; P= 0.006) and gender (women compared to men) (B: 0.896; Cl: 0.011, 1.781; P=0.047) as the predictors of life satisfaction. Conclusions: According to the results, the life satisfaction of our study participants was at a moderate level and was affected by living environment indicators, especially facilities.

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between happiness levels of university students with levels oflife satisfaction and optimism. The study sample consists of 318 freshmen, sophomore, junior, and senior studentsrandomly selected from the departments of Physical Education and Sports Teaching, Coaching Education, SportsManagement, and Recreation Education of Faculty of Sports Sciences, Erciyes University, Turkey.Happiness Scale, Satisfaction with Life Scale, and Life Orientation Scale, as well as “Personal Information Form”prepared by the researcher were used as the data collection tools for the purpose of this research.The data obtained from Personal Information Form, Happiness Scale, Satisfaction with Life Scale, and LifeOrientation Scale was analyzed statistically with SPSS 20.0 package program. Personal information and inventorytotal scores, as well as factor scores for the candidates, are given by determining the frequency (f) and percentage (%)values. To determine the relationship between the scores obtained from the scales, Pearson Product MomentCorrelation Analysis (r), and to determine whether obtained scores are predicting each other or not, multipleregression analysis (β) were applied.As a result, happiness was found to have a high-level positive relation with life satisfaction and optimism.Considering the psychological aspects of the curriculum applied to prospective teachers, increasing the level ofhappiness will contribute to educating more qualified teachers.

Background: Alfred W. Adler (1870-1937), psychotherapist and founder of the school of individual psychology, believed that education, marriage, and job play important role in human development. Higher learning is a demanding and challenging period for students that can result in high rates of psychological distress affecting their life satisfaction. Aim: The research is to study the links between family communications, perceived stress and resilience with life satisfaction among pre-university students in UPM. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted among a sample of 310 (females 158 and 152 males) pre-university students from a public university in Malaysia. Four instruments were used in this research namely the Family Communication Scale (FCS, Olson et al., 2004), Perceived Stress Scale (PSS, Cohen et al., 1983) Resilience Scale (CD-RISC, Connor-Davidson, 2003) & The Satisfaction with Life Scale (Diener et al. 1985). The data were analyzed using independent t-test, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple regressions. Results: The finding of this study revealed that there are simple and multiple relationships between family communications, perceived stress and resilience with life satisfaction among pre-university students. Conclusion: The research may guide university counselors to view adolescents’ life satisfaction holistically and assist them in developing preventive and intervention plans for the university new enrolled students. Also, the results will provide students with some knowledge on their life satisfaction and its effects on their future accomplishments.
