Technical diagnostics is an integral part of the railway maintenance process. Through timely maintenance, in addition to ensuring the safety, functional and technical reliability of the infrastructure, maintenance costs are reduced and downtime losses, due to failures or premature repair requests, are eliminated or reduced. The track infrastructure diagnostic tools have evolved. This is related to, among others, the miniaturisation of instruments, reading accuracy during motion, as well as upgraded measurement automation and result analysis. Currently, data obtained from multifunctional diagnostic tools is the basis for the developed Russian railway infrastructure maintenance and operation digital model. The strategic development of mobile diagnostic labs is the gradual transition to solutions with advanced digital analysis, supported by artificial intelligence, monitoring and forecasting. The article presents the development of mobile labs for the railroad infrastructure condition diagnosis up to the current solutions, in which measurements take place without human intervention and the obtained information is transmitted in real time to the analysis and decision centres. Keywords: rail transport, measuring wagons, digitisation of railways, Russian railways

This paper provides a characterization of the electrical energy consumption of agrifood industries located in the central region of Portugal that use refrigeration systems to ensure the food safety. The study is based on the result analysis of survey data and energy characteristics of the participating companies belonging to the following agrifood sectors: meat, dairy, horticultural, distribution and wine. Through the quantification of energy consumption of companies is possible to determine the amount of greenhouse gases (GHGs) emissions indexed to its manufacturing process. Comparing the energy and GHGs emissions indexes of companies of a sector and between sectors is possible to create reference levels. With the results of this work is possible to rating the companies in relation to reference levels of energy and GHGs emissions and thus promote the rational use of energy by the application of practice measures for the improvement of the energy efficiency and the reduction of GHGs emissions.

An experimental campaign is underway in order to understand the behavior of rectangular columns under uniaxial and biaxial flexure. The present paper addresses the initial part of that campaign, by reporting on two columns tested under uniaxial bending in one horizontal direction and then submitted to another uniaxial test in the other direction. The test result analysis focuses on the contributions of flexure, shear and slip components to the global deformation. The experimental results were compared with a simplified method for column response. The Park and Ang damage index is calculated and compared with the physical damage observed.

Climate variability and its changes are issues of broader global concern. This study addresses the annual air temperature movement evaluation and forecasting based on principal component analysis (PCA). An Eigen-temperature model for describing the annual air temperature movement by employing PCA is introduced. Subspace for evaluation is generated by selecting principal orthogonal eigenvectors of covariance matrix of temperature data. The principal eigenvectors are called "Eigen-temperatures", since they are eigenvectors and each temperature movement is described by them. Each temperature movement is projected onto the subspace of eigenspace, and described by a linear combination of the Eigen-temperatures. Then, a forecast method for the temperature movement by employing the Eigen-temperatures is proposed. Forecast is implemented with polynomial curve fitting algorithm to estimate subsequent representation weights for the subsequent temperature movement with respect to the "Eigen-temperatures" generated by its previous temperature movements. The proposed Eigen-temperature model is applied to evaluation and forecasting for annual temperature movement at Tongchuan observation station of China from 1962 to 1971 and from 1994 to 2002. Experimental results agreeing well with actual observation values show workability of the proposed. Result analysis indicates its effectiveness that the proposed Eigen-temperature model is outperforming the classical AR model and the BP-ANN on the forecast tasks.

Vehicle driving simulators are widely employed in training and entertainment utilities because of its safe, economic and efficient. Amphibious vehicle driving simulator was used to simulate amphibious vehicle on land and in water. Because of the motion difference between aircraft and amphibious vehicle, it is necessary to design a reasonable 6-DOF motion system according to the flight simulator motion system standard and vehicle motion parameter. FFT of DSP and PSD were used to analysis the relationship between them. Finally according to the result analysis, a set of reasonable 6-DOF motion system motion parameter was given to realize the driving simulator motion cueing used to reproduce vehicle acceleration.
