There is a close relationship between crop growth and the control of environmental variables, as well as irrigation and fertilizers supplied. This article presents a system for collecting a greenhouse temperature, capable of acting in the opening or closing window system as a regulator of this environmental variable. Controlling the temperature acting on the opening or closing of the windows is convenient, since it does not require additional fuel, resulting in an economical alternative. Regarding control algorithm, Fuzzy Logic was used as a correction temperature technique. The proposal can be a good option for greenhouses that are not automated yet, saving costs by moving from human-assisted monitoring to automatic temperature monitoring.

Abstract Background Dissociative (conversion) disorder in children is a complex biopsychosocial disorder with high rates of medical and psychiatric comorbidities. We sought to identify the characteristics and outcomes of children with dissociative (conversion) disorders in western China. Methods We conducted a retrospective cohort study of 66 children admitted with dissociative (conversion) disorders from January 2017 to July 2019, and analyzed their clinical characteristics, socio-cultural environmental variables, and personality and psychiatric/psychological characteristics. Binary logistic regression was used to analyze the variables associated with clinical efficacy. Results Of these 66 patients, 38 (57.6%) were male and 28 (42.4%) were female, 46 (69.7%) had an antecedent stressor, 30 (45.5%) were left-behind adolescents, and 16 (24.2%) were from single-parent families. In addition, 30 patients (45.5%) were not close to their parents, 38 patients (59.4%) had an introverted personality, and 34 (53.1%) had unstable emotions. Thirteen families (19.7%) were uncooperative with the treatment. Patients who had cormorbid anxiety or depression exhibited significantly lower cognitive ability (P < 0.01). Logistic regression found that better treatment outcomes were positively associated with having a close relationship with parents, parental cooperation with treatment, and having a father with a lower level of education (i.e., less than junior college or higher). Conclusions The characteristics and outcomes of children with dissociative (conversion) disorders are related to socio-cultural environmental variables and psychiatric/psychological factors. Timely recognition and effective treatment of dissociative (conversion) disorders are important.

A fuzzy logic approach is developed to model and test the impact of environmental regimes on fish stock–recruitment relationships. Traditional methods use environmental variables to classify stock–recruitment data into different membership percentiles followed by fitting the stock–recruitment models for each subset. In contrast, the fuzzy logic approach uses a continuous membership function to provide a rational basis for the classification. Thus, parameter estimation is based on a more logically consistent foundation without resorting to subjective partitions. This new approach is applied to herring stock from the west coast of Vancouver Island (Clupea harengus pallasi) using sea surface temperature as the environmental variable and to Pacific halibut stock (Hippoglossus stenolepis) using the Pacific Decadal Oscillation as the environmental variable. From these applications, the herring stock–recruitment relationships were found to vary significantly during different regimes, whereas this was not the case for halibut. However, in both instances, the fuzzy logic approach demonstrated that density-dependent effects differed between regimes. The fuzzy logic model consistently outperformed traditional approaches as measured by several diagnostic criteria. Because fuzzy logic models address uncertainty better than traditional approaches, they have the potential to improve our ability to understand factors influencing stock–recruitment relationships and thereby manage fisheries more effectively.

The paper deals with semi-active chatter absorber based on an electrodynamic transducer built around high-energy permanent magnets. Also, a fuzzy logic control system for the absorber control system has been designed. The principal advantage of fuzzy control is the possibility to implement practical experience gained by machine operators in the control algorithm. Hence, the possibility of factoring such quantities, as vibrations experienced by selected points of the machine-tool, and sound emitted by working machine into the analyzed chatter absorber fuzzy control system has been studied in the paper. The control system has been tested by way of simulation with the use of the process and cutting force models.
