The article discusses seasonal and spatial variability of the chemical composition of the waters of the Argun River which is the right component of the Amur river according to the Transbaikal AHEM (1962–1975 and 2016–2017), Russian-Chinese monitoring (2008, 2011–2013) and expeditionary observations in June 2018. The maximum concentrations of the main ions, mineral forms of nitrogen, iron compounds and manganese due to a deficiency of dissolved oxygen occurr during the winter low water period mainly in the upper part of the river. During the open channel period, the concentrations of nitrogen mineral forms was below the detection limit, the content of organic substances reaches the lowest values during the summer-autumn low-water period, and the main ions – in rain floods. We found differences in the main ions content along the river length caused by the natural and climatic features of the territory and economic activities in the catchment area. In 2018, observation of the river between Abagatuy and Priargunsk villages established the spatial variability of the main ions concentrations during the summer low water. The highest content of major ions due to mining is typical for the upper part of the river, the smallest – for the part of the river below the confluence of the Ganhe and Derbul rivers, which form the chemical composition on the western spurs of the Greater Khingan Range. An increase in the salt content in the water of the Argun River below the mouths of the rivers Urulyungui, Verkhnyaya Borzya and others draining the steppe and forest-steppe landscapes was noted. Key words: Argun River, water chemical composition, mineralization, main ions, biogenic and organic substances.

The article considers the results of research from 2015 to 2019 on the study of hydrochemical indicators and the content of heavy metals in the ecosystem components of the small Arguzikha river , a left-Bank tributary of the Amur river (water, bottom sediments, macrophytes, birds ’ feathers). High oxygen content in the water (8.8-15.9 mgO2/dm3) and high BOD5 values (6-12 mgO2/dm3) in the middle and lower reaches of the Arguzikha river indicate the process of eutrophication. The value of permanganate oxidability (6.8-15.5 mgO/dm3) characterizes the high content of organic substances in water. In the spring, nitrate nitrogen (3.45-6.39 mgN-NO3-/dm3) was found in the water of the Arguzikha river, which had a pyrogenic origin. In the summer the rainy season was dominated by ammonium nitrogen (2.34 mgN-NН +/dm3). The high content of total phosphorus (0.337-0.609 mg/dm3) in the river water was in the spring. In the spring of 2015, the concentration of lead in the lower reaches of the river reached 6.36 µg/dm3, during the subsequent time, the lead content in the Arguzikha water was less than the MPC. Toxic concentrations of lead (> 30 mg / kg) and manganese (> 300 mg/kg) were found in macrophytes of Nymphoides peltata and Myriophyllum spicatum. In the feathers of waterfowl of the Arguzikha river the content of heavy metals decreases in a row Fe>Zn>Cu>Pb>Mn>Сг>Ni>Cо>Cd. The feathers of Anas acuta and Anas querquedula contained Pb 17.7 mg/kg and 22.2 mg/kg, Cd 0.15 mg/kg and 0.08 mg/kg, respectively.

2021 marks 350 years since the founding of the Albazin Spassky Monastery, the first Orthodox monastery in the Far East. The emergence of the monastery was the result of the movement of Russians to the Amur River, as well as acute social and moral conflicts among the Russian population of Eastern Siberia. The activity of this monastery was an important stage in the spread of Orthodoxy on the eastern borders of Russia. Many aspects of the history of the monastery remain a subject of discussion. The purpose of the article is to systematize the most reliable information about the circumstances of the emergence and activities of the Albazin Spassky Monastery, as well as its use. Documents of the 17th century include a few information about the monastery. The most fully reflected activity in the documents is the economic one. The monastery conducted a successful economic activity, actively carried out the construction of religious and other structures (mills, smithy, etc.). Other aspects of the monastery's activities are hardly reflected in the documents. The location of the Spassky Monastery remains controversial. According to the written and cartographic sources, the most probable location of the monastery is 2 km from the fortress up the Amur River in the area of the ravine - the former stream course - and the adjoining upland.

The title of the article is longterm variability of chemical composition and quality of water along the Amur river. As the title implies the article describes the chemical composition of water in different parts of the river and the water quality by hydrochemical parameters. A mention should be made that under the conditions of anthropogenic press on the environment and unbalanced use of natural resources, the ecological potential of the water ecosystem of the Amur River is depleted and the quality of water decreases. The transboundary position of the studied water object, the difference in the demographic potentials of Russia and China determines the relevance of this paper. The purpose of the work is to assess the longterm variability of the chemical composition and water quality along the Amur River. It should be noted that this research is based on longterm (20002017) Hydrochemical information. The state system of observers for the state and environmental pollution of Roshydromet at observation points along the river: c. Chernyaevo, the city of Blagoveshchensk, Khabarovsk, KomsomolskonAmur and NikolaevskonAmur. As a result, the analysis of longterm data showed that the concentrations of chlorides, sulphates and nitrates do not exceed the maximum permissible concentrations on all the studied river sections. Identified characteristic pollutants, the content of which exceeds the MPC standards in more than half of the cases. There is an increase in the content of some pollutants downstream of the river. In general, the water quality of the Amur River at different sites is characterized by the 3rd (polluted and very polluted) and 4th quality classes (dirty).

Chemical composition and nutritional and biological value of roe are investigated for autumn chum salmon from the Amur River sampled during their run for spawning from the estuary to the area of Khabarovsk city. Color and strength of roe were examined, content of proteins, lipids and minerals was measured, amino acid and fatty acid composition was determined. Caloric capacity and biological value of the samples were usual for this species. Physical properties of the roe (strength, color intensity) practically did not change in dependence on distance from the river mouth. Stable quality of roe in the run of spawning migration in the lower Amur is concluded.

In addition to the distribution of modified water of the Amur River runoff in the Aniva Bay, remote from its mouth, according to the data from 2012–2013 (Shevchenko G.V., Chastikov V.N. Distribution of the Amur waters in the eastern part of the Aniva Bay in late autumn. Meteorology and Hydrology, 2021, no. 1), the materials of the oceanological survey carried out in this basin in mid-November 2001 are presented. It is shown that desalinated water entered the bay in an unusually wide stream in the upper 30-meter layer and occupied a vast area, almost to the middle of the bay. At the same time, the differences in salinity with local waters were less than usual. The most probable reason for such specific features of oceanological conditions in 2001 was an increase (by about 30% in comparison with the usual values) of the wind of west-northwest rhumb of an offshore character. The obtained results show that the influence of this water can manifest itself not only near the eastern coast of the bay, as was demonstrated in the mentioned article, but also at a distance of more than 30 km from it. Accordingly, abrupt decreases in salinity can affect the marine biota not only of the coastal complex, but also inhabiting the central part of the bay.
