scholarly journals Assessment of Risks in Information Technology Projects

The risk associated with information technology is quite big especially when it comes to using, own, operate, and select information technology systems for an organization. The risk associated with information technology is possibly termed as a business risk. It includes IT-related prospects that may affect businesses. This can be achieved with both a questionable relapse and scale which threatens the alignment of key objectives and goals. The study is based both on empirical studies and on true case analysis. The study found that top management understands the essential part of technology development in organizations that are infamous for corporate viability and efficiency because of the use of IT hardware and computer software.

The key to competitiveness in most industries has moved beyond the traditionally confined single organization. In today’s global competitive business environment, competitiveness is heavily influenced by the ability of the multiple organizations in a supply chain to synchronize and integrate their business activities and processes. Supply chain integration, (SCI) which links the activities, functions, processes, and systems of a firm with its customers and suppliers, can reduce uncertainty, enhance responsiveness, reduce costs, and improve customer service. Empirical studies have explored SCI and reported that information technology (IT) is a key ingredient for the success of the integrated supply chain. While the research on SCI has been reported in OM literature, empirical studies that investigate the impact of different levels of IT utilization (ITU) – strategic, operational, and infrastructural - on SCI are not available. This research also explores the impact of top management support (TMS) on the relationship between ITU and SCI. Based on data collected from 220 manufacturing firms, this study indicates that ITU will have a positive impact on the success of an integrated supply chain when top management is personally involved in the technology implementation process.

Abstract Using robotics and data analytics (big data) can over take clerical job (data entry, bookkeeping, compliance work). Accounting profession underestimate to technologies. Competence such as data analysis, information technology development, and leadership skills must be adapted to face 4.0. Our research found that Kantor Jasa Akuntan in Kepulauan Riau Province using 80% accounting professional labor (accounting bachelor). This research confirmed about IoT (Internet of Things) that 60% of KJA use 70-100% of total hours of work using computer (software) and internet compare with manual working. KJA need accounting professional who able to work with software such as accounting software, statistic, Ms Office, Zahir, and SAP. This research also found the main softskill needed is critical thingking ability. Acording to the survey, software are not affecting accounting employment yet. This case study presents the program management approach in managing large-scale information technology projects. Using the case of ACME Solutions Ltd., a large software development company, the authors first emphasize on the need to use program management over project management when managing related multiple information technology projects. Then, they explain the program lifecycle in this company and discuss the ‘process’ and ‘people’ related challenges across the program stages. Broadly, they observe that there is a lack of coordination between the stakeholders and processes of the program. Recommendations to overcome these limitations are discussed.

The relevance of the article is because in parallel with the processes of introduction of innovations in the field of automation and computerization of the banking system, the number of types of banking risks associated with innovations in the field of on-line customer service and internal Bank reporting, as well as information systems. As a result of this article, we have studied the latest legislative acts of the Central Bank of Russia as a mega-regulator and summarized the practice of both individual credit institutions and the banking sector in the field of information technology development risks in the banking sector. To strengthen the development of new financial technologies in the digital economy, it is necessary to regularly discuss the emergence of new phenomena and innovations; to consider the possibility of further analysis of existing methodological developments to exchange best practices of banks. Building an effective it security risk management system is not a one-time project. Still, a complex process is important, focused on minimizing external and internal threats and taking into account the limitations on resources and time factor

This paper presents a manufacturing systems engineering view of important issues relating to IT research and development. It argues for an approach to the next phase of information technology development which is heavily based on real-world applications with the dominant influences held by educated users and engineers who have added computing skills, rather than information technologists. It argues for ‘consolidation’ with particular attention to total systems integration and an emphasis on the need to professionally engineer the human interface.
