Background: Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine disorder of premenopausal (1) women affecting approximately 5-10% of female population in their reproductive years . The clinical, biochemical as well as the radiological spectrum of PCOS and their correlations have gained importance over the years owing to complex pathophysiology of this syndrome, which still remains partially understood. Aims & Objectives: To study hemodynamic changes in ovarian and uterine arteries in PCOS patients using color doppler ultrasound, along with their clinical and biochemical parameters. A total of 60 patients with clinical history of infertility Methods: (30 obese & 30 non-obese) and 30 control (fertile women) were taken, who underwent transvaginal ultrasound and color doppler scan, and were correlated clinically and hormonally. Results: The ovarian artery mean pulsatility index (PI) was observed to be 4.05 in control group and 2.58 among PCOS cases, which is signicantly decreased in cases. Comparing non-obese and obese PCOS cases, the mean ovarian artery PI was found to be 2.65 and 2.51 respectively. The difference was not signicant. In our study, the resistive index (RI) of ovarian artery also showed a signicant decrease among PCOS cases with mean value of 0.62, compared to 0.9 in the control group. The PI and RI of uterine artery in both obese and non-obese cases were signicantly increased in comparison to control group. Transvaginal colour doppler helps in adequate evaluation of haemodynami Conclusion: c changes in small vessels of utero-ovarian circulation. It can aid in diagnosis as well as serve as prognostic indicator in patients suffering from PCOS.

Background: Renal Doppler Ultrasonography (USG) has become a useful adjunct to gray scale sonography in the evaluation of renal function in various pathophysiological conditions like diabetic nephropathy. We can diagnose diabetic nephropathy by serum creatinine level and creatinine clearance rate. But early stage diagnosis of diabetic nephropathy is not always possible. In this study we have focused on resistive index of interlobar arteries of kidney to see changes of renal parenchyma for early stage diagnosis of diabetic nephropathy. Objectives: To observe the difference between values of intrarenal resistive  index measured by duplex color Doppler USG in type 2 diabetic  patients having diabetic nephropathy and in healthy adult control subjects. Materials and methods: This cross sectional observational study was conducted in the Department of Radiology and Imaging, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. 65 diabetic nephropathy patients were taken as study group and 65 healthy subjects were included as healthy control subjects. Duplex Color Doppler Ultrasonography of interlobar artery was carried out in both groups to measure the peak systolic velocity, the end diastolic velocity and arterial Resistive Index. Results: The Resistive Index of interlobar artery of left kidney in control group was 0.58±0.08 and the mean RI of interlobar artery of left kidney in diabetic nephropathy patients was 0.74±0.53. The difference of Resistive index of interlobar artery of left kidney in the two groups were statistically significant and the RI of right kidney of control & that of case groups were 0.60±0.09 and 0.76±0.03 respectively. In between control and case groups the RI of right kidney were statistically significant. So, resistive index of interlobar artery was increased in type 2 diabetic nrphropathy patients compared to control group. Conclusion: It can be concluded in present study that resistive index remains significantly higher in patients with diabetic nephropathy than in controls. Thus Duplex Doppler ultrasonography allows the rapid, noninvasive evaluation of the intrarenal vasculature and can be used as an easily available parameter of the evolution and a predictor in patients with clinical diabetic nephropathy. We evaluated 50 patients who had renal transplants and were sent for Doppler Ultrasound for complications, after the transplant procedure. Ages of the patients ranged from 20 to 65 years, 39 were male and 11 were female. In inclusions only first month post op patients were included and only those patients were considered who had some sort of complications on ultrasound at some stage of the follow up.Following complications were noticed: Diminished corticomedullary demarcations, increased echogenicity with raised R I (20 pt). Perinephric collections other than haematoma (13 pt). Perinephric haematoma (06 pt). Obstructed transplanted kidney ( 05 pt). Diminished arterial vascularity of the kidney (04 pt) Renal vein thrombosis (02 pt). RI was found to be raised in increased echogenicity, obstructed hydronephrotic kidney, diminished arterial supply and was disturbed in RVT.

The objective: to assess the state of uterine blood flow in endometrial hyperplasia in women of reproductive period. Patients and methods. 130 patients (n=100 – the main group; n=30 – control group) aged 18-49 years with endometrial hyperplasia were examined. All the women underwent 2D transvaginal echography and color Doppler mapping. The angle-independent indices (pulsatility index, resistivity index, diastolic/systolic ratio) of blood flow were determined in the uterine, arcuate, radial, basal and spiral arteries. Results. There was no significant difference in the indices of blood flow of the right uterine artery, arcuate, radial, basal arteries among patients and control group. Among women with endometrial hyperplasia pulsatility index of the left uterine artery amounted to – 2.11, resistivity index – 0.88, and the diastolic/systolic ratio – 5.45, in women of the control group – 2.34, 1.01 and 7.50, respectively. Only among patients with endometrial hyperplastic process was registered blood flow in the spiral arteries. Conclusion. The use of color Doppler mapping is appropriate, because registration of intraendometrial blood flow allows an endometrial hyperplastic process to be diagnosed with a high degree of confidence. Background: The efficacy of color Doppler ultrasound, multislice spiral CT combined with serum alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) and alpha-fetoprotein heterogeneity (AFP-L3) in the diagnosis of primary hepatic carcinoma was evaluated. Methods: Seventy-nine patients with primary hepatic carcinoma (PHC group) and 50 patients with benign liver lesions (benign control group) admitted in Yantaishan Hospital (Yantai, China) from January 2016 to December 2018 were selected. The liver was scanned by color Doppler ultrasound and multiple multislice spiral CT. The serum AFP and AFP-L3 levels were detected by electrochemiluminescence. The value of color Doppler ultrasound, multislice spiral CT combined with serum AFP and AFP-L3 in diagnosis of primary liver cancer was retrospectively analyzed. Results: The color Doppler flow imaging (CDFI) showed a high-speed and high-resistance spectrum. The serum AFP and AFP-L3 levels of patients with primary hepatic carcinoma were significantly higher than those of the benign control group were (U=138.000 and 155.500, P=0.000 and 0.000), P<0.01. The sensitivity, accuracy and negative predictive value of color Doppler ultrasound, multislice spiral CT combined with serum AFP and AFP-L3 examinations for diagnosis of primary hepatic carcinoma were 96.20, 90.70 and 93.18%, which was significantly improved compared with each single examination (X2=27.888, 17.511 and 16.202, P=0.000, 0.002 and 0.003), P<0.01. Conclusion: Color Doppler ultrasound, multislice spiral CT combined with AFP and AFP-L3 examination could significantly improve the diagnosis efficiency of primary hepatic carcinoma, which was beneficial to early clinical diagnosis and early treatment.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the diagnostic value of color Doppler ultrasound combined with superb microvascular imaging (SMI) in the detection of small renal tumors less than 3 cm treated with Jinkui Shenqi pills. 50 cases were randomly selected from the patients with angioleiomyoma (a kind of small renal tumor) less than 3 cm confirmed by pathological examination and treated in our hospital from January 2018 to January 2020. All patients were treated with Jinkui Shenqi pills. All patients were first detected by color Doppler ultrasound and then by SMI. The results of color Doppler ultrasound were used as the control group, while those of color Doppler ultrasound combined with SMI were used as the experimental group. After that, the specificity, sensitivity, positive and negative detection results, and detection accuracy were compared between the two groups. The specificity and sensitivity in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group, with statistical significance ( P < 0.05 ). The cases of positive and negative detection results in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group, with statistical significance ( P < 0.05 ). The detection accuracy in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group, with statistical significance ( P < 0.05 ). The specificity, sensitivity, positive and negative detection results, and detection accuracy of color Doppler ultrasound combined with SMI in the detection of small renal tumors less than 3 cm treated with Jinkui Shenqi pills were all significantly higher than those of color Doppler ultrasound; therefore, the application of color Doppler ultrasound combined with SMI for the diagnosis of small renal tumors is of high value.

The neural network algorithm of deep learning was applied to optimize and improve color Doppler ultrasound images, which was used for the research on elderly patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) complicated with sarcopenia, so as to analyze the effect of the deep-learning-based color Doppler ultrasound image on the diagnosis of CHF. 259 patients were selected randomly in this study, who were admitted to hospital from October 2017 to March 2020 and were diagnosed with sarcopenia. Then, all of them underwent cardiac ultrasound examination and were divided into two groups according to whether deep learning technology was used for image processing or not. A group of routine unprocessed images was set as the control group, and the images processed by deep learning were set as the experimental group. The results of color Doppler images before and after processing were analyzed and compared; that is, the processed images of the experimental group were clearer and had higher resolution than the unprocessed images of the control group, with the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) = 20 and structural similarity index measure (SSIM) = 0.09; the similarity between the final diagnosis results and the examination results of the experimental group (93.5%) was higher than that of the control group (87.0%), and the comparison was statistically significant ( P < 0.05 ); among all the patients diagnosed with sarcopenia, 88.9% were also eventually diagnosed with CHF and only a small part of them were diagnosed with other diseases, with statistical significance ( P < 0.05 ). In conclusion, deep learning technology had certain application value in processing color Doppler ultrasound images. Although there was no obvious difference between the color Doppler ultrasound images before and after processing, they could all make a better diagnosis. Moreover, the research results showed the correlation between CHF and sarcopenia.
