Energy is an effective economic power which can provide people with their basic necessities such as health, education, accommodation and protection. Increasing energy efficiency depends on development of the ability of energy sources with the combination of minimum posible cost, minimum risk and environment friendly facilities. Small and Medium Sized Entrerprises (SME) those can reflect this productivity of environment friendly energy to their production can be the cornerstone of social and economic development which is the determining economic factor in the countries’ social and economic development process. It is obvious that one of the main inputs of economic and social development is energy and providing it by using alternative sources is one of the most important parameters of sustainable development. Intense usage of fossil fuels causes a dependent condition in which SME’s cannot afford their energy demands totally by their own resources. As a result of an awareness research about alternative energy sources that will increase SME’s competitive capacity and sectoral tendency towards green energy sources, it is seen that consciousness of alternative energy and trends towards renewable energy resources are not strong enough. It is also identified that their level of awareness about how much their efficiency might be affected as a result of using new energy resources is rather low. Shortly in the frame of Vision 2023, recognising the main alternative energy resources of Turkey, it aims to identify the effects of tendency of SME’s towards alternative energy resources on their productivity.

The energy sector holds a crucial strategic importance for development and its sustainability. However, the energy reserves in Turkey are insufficient for the increasing energy demand. For this reason, the need for alternative energy sources has emerged. The fact that fossil fuels used in energy production will be exhausted and their damaging effects on the environment has made it inevitable for the world to use renewable energy. In Turkey, the following are the main energy sources used in electricity production: hydraulic sources, brown coal, natural gas, coal and fuel oil. The use of renewable energy sources in electricity production has shown a considerable development in the world over the past few decades. However, these energy resources have yet to be exploited to any large extent in Turkey. In this chapter, the range of potential renewable energy resources available for electricity production in Turkey will be analyzed in order to determine the necessary technical substructure to make these renewable energy resources more attractive.

Since the dawn of civilization, human beings have been using different energy sources in order to fulfil their various requirements. Energy is one of the human civilization’s basic requirements for development. For example – electricity powers our household appliances like TV, air-conditioners, phones , washing machines etc. We also use energy to run vehicles like cars, buses and trains and it is used to run most industries and factories. Most of these energy sources are non-renewable in nature, and might get depleted soon, such as the Oil and coal. This creates a requirement for renewable energy resources which has cheap costs. Solar energy is considered as one of the main energy resources in warm countries. Also solar energy is a clean, easily accessible and abundantly available alternative energy source in nature and has been used traditionally since ages in the absence of energy sources. Hence we require a system which will be able to efficiently utilize solar energy such as solar panels but these have some drawbacks as they don’t rotate with the movement of the sun, hence the need arises for that of a solar tracker. The development towards the usage of green energy sources is currently a major concern in today’s lifestyle due to the limited supply of fossil-based energy. Many have turned to alternative energy resources that are less polluting to the environment. Replacement of the vehicle’s fuel-based engine to an electric-based engine by using alternative or hybrid energy is one of the possible paths that many studies are conducted. In the aviation field, harvesting solar energy by using solar panel to charge aircraft on-board batteries could reduce the dependency on fuel. As with any other energy conversion technology, the solar panel performance needs to be monitored so that the power output can always be maintained at maximum available power. This paper presents a research and development of a system to monitor the health of photovoltaic panel installed on aircraft by measuring its voltage and current. The measurement is conducted using low power microcontroller. The system is capable to automatically measure the output of every solar panel installed in the system by connecting them with a matched load during the measurement process. The power output is then compared to the initial values prior to installation to determine how much power is currently being generated. By knowing the actual power output of each solar panel, less efficient or defective panel can be identified and replaced during maintenance. The system can be implemented not only for an aircraft but also applicable to other system that uses solar panel as their energy resources.

This note's purpose is to objectively analyze West Virginia's recently enacted Alternative and Renewable Energy Portfolio Act ("AREPA") to determine whether it is the most ambitious alternative and renewable energy legislation that West Virginia can enact given its current political climate. Although coal may currently provide substantial economic benefits to West Virginia, future reliance on coal resources will be detrimental to the state's overall welfare due to dwindling coal reserves and coal's hazardous effects on the environment and public health. Because of coal's negative public health and environmental effects, coalmining states face tremendous federal, state, and local pressures to implement cleaner energy production methods. In 2009, West Virginia enacted AREPA to quell some of these mounting concerns. The legislation, however, has an unusually permissive definition of "alternative" energy sources and technologies and has no minimum requirement for renewable energy. In order to truly diversify from coal, the West Virginia Legislature should amend its "renewable energy resources" standard to require that at least twenty percent of its energy portfolio come from actual renewable energy sources by 2025. The legislature must also amend AREPA to exclude many of the most heavily polluting "alternative" energy sources instead of ensuring their continued existence and harm to the state. Because of West Virginia's dwindling coal reserves, the state's wealth of renewable energy resources, and a growing anti-coal movement, the Mountain State should diversify fromcoal-based energy resources and establish an appropriate alternative energy portfolio standard that is more heavily geared towards truly promoting renewable energy.

The paper focuses on the economic opportunities of renewable energy resources (RES) in Azerbaijan's liberated territories. Armenia illegally exploited energy and other natural resources in Nagorno-Karabakh and its surrounding areas during its 30-year occupation. As a result, it is not surprising that the establishment of a "green energy" zone in the territories has been given high priority in the post-liberation period. Traditional energy sources are currently the most common source of electricity generation in the world. In this regard, the world's ever-increasing energy demand accelerates nation-states' gradual transition to green energy. Electricity generation from renewable energy sources is increasing in many countries, including the United States. In Nagorno-Karabakh and seven neighboring regions, the state is focusing on the production and effective use of renewable energy resources. As a result, ensuring harmony in the gradual use of renewable and traditional energy resources will be essential to the country's socioeconomic development, environmental sustainability, and energy security. The economic analysis of renewable energy potential and the establishment of a “green energy” industry are conducted in the article.

The need of larger quantity of energy to fulfill the demand of energy, especially thefossil fuel, forced the government of almost all nation try to find the new kind of energy orknown as alternative energy resources. Fossil fuel as non-renewable energy resources wouldbe decreased by the time if the using of it not under controlled. This kind of energy resourcesused to handle almost all the people need of energy, such as for domestic uses, industrial, tourism, etc. The used of fossil fuel for that purposed mostly for generated the electricitypower (by built the power plant). Many natural energy resources can used to generateelectricity power plant, but there always be some advantages and bad impact, especially forthe environments. One of environmental friendly alternative energy resources is exploitingthe form of wind power.Keyword: alternative energy, wind energy, windmills farms, human well-being.

This paper presents a novel, scalable, and modular multiport power electronic topology for the integration of multiple resources. This converter is not only scalable in terms of the integration of multiple renewable energy resources (RES) and storage devices (SDs) but is also scalable in terms of output ports. Multiple dc outputs of a converter are designed to serve as input to the stacking modules (SMs) of the modular multilevel converter (MMC). The proposed multiport converter is bidirectional in nature and superior in terms of functionality in a way that a modular universal converter is responsible for the integration of multiple RES/SDs and regulates multiple dc output ports for SMs of MMC. All input ports can be easily integrated (and controlled), and output ports also can be controlled independently in response to any load variations. An isolated active half-bridge converter with multiple secondaries acts as a central hub for power processing with multiple renewable energy resources that are integrated at the primary side. To verify the proposed converter, a detailed design of the converter-based system is presented along with the proposed control algorithm for managing power on the individual component level. Additionally, different modes of power management (emulating the availability/variability of renewable energy sources (RES)) are exhibited and analyzed here. Finally, detailed simulation results are presented in detail for the validation of the proposed concepts and design process.
