This contribution deals with the new phenomenom of preschool immigrant children in Czechia after 1990. It focuses on social, economic, cultural and ethnic characteristics of children's parents and on childern's language knowledge and adaptation in the kindergarten. There are also discussed factors influencing integration of immigrant families into the majority society as well as their willingness to stay in Czechia permanently. Our results bring about new insights into immigrants' lives and their co-existence with the majority society.

Over the last two decades, Taiwan has experienced a surge in immigration due to marriage. With the growth in the incidence of international marriages, the number of immigrant children in Taiwan has sharply increased. Career development is an important factor worldwide and is thus an important issue for immigrant children in Taiwan. Many factors influence the choices of new immigrant children for their career development. The purpose of this study was to explore the factors influencing the career development of new immigrant children. The research was conducted using the qualitative research method, and data were collected from 30 participants who were new-immigrant-children university students. After analyzing the interviews of the participants, the results were analyzed. Further, on the basis of analysis of previous literature and interviews, recommendations were made for the career development of new immigrant children, such as strengthen the attainment of and respect for multi-culturalism through School, family, and social systems.

Abstract The aim of the research is to elaborate the model of factors influencing competitiveness of the Latvian fisheries sector cluster. Based on the studied scientific literature, the research provides an improved definition of the sector competitiveness and defines the factors influencing the competitiveness of the sector. As a result of the analysis, the author has discovered that there are several internal and external social, economic, political and environmental factors that influence the competitiveness of the Latvian fisheries sector cluster. It is advisable to the institutions involved in fisheries policy-making to take into account the identified factors, influencing the competitiveness, and their changes when making and improving the general policy of the sector.

This study compared the contextual classroom features of public school segregated classrooms and community-based integrated classrooms for preschool children with disabilities, examining the relations between classroom characteristics and child sociability. A total of 16 children were pair-matched and observed in their classrooms. Results showed that the contexts of the two classroom conditions were similar. Differences in child sociability were not found. Solitary play and antisocial behaviors were infrequently observed. The findings suggested a significant relationship between teacher verbal prompting and child sociability. Children were much more likely to talk to their peers when a verbal prompt was given. The study presented implications for the educational placements of preschool children.

AbstractThis paper examines transnationalism and identity construction among Chinese immigrant youth in Canada, an often-ignored population and inadequately addressed research area in transnational studies. I argue that the transnational practices within immigrant families have nurtured transnational orientation and identification among Chinese youth. I also interrogate simply using the frequency of homeland trips to evaluate the degree of second-generation transnationalism, by highlighting the different lens that Chinese youth engage in framing their perception of homeland.

This paper presents the psychological and pedagogical characteristics of the development of older preschool children. The main periods and factors influencing the formation of the child's personality are described. These include the main activities of a preschooler – play, work, creative work, educational activities. Such concepts as speech, folklore, literature, music, visual activity, theatrical events that influence the development and formation of stable psychological characteristics of a child's personality are substantiated.
