The main aim of this paper is to identify and specify factors that influence business analytics. A factor in this context refers to any significant characteristic that defines the environment in which business analytics and business in general are conducted. Factors and their understanding are essential for the quality of final business analytics solutions, given their complexity and interconnectedness. Factors play an extremely important role in analytic thinking and business analysts’ skills and knowledge. These factors determine effective approaches and procedures for business analytics, and, in some cases, they also aid in the decision to delay a business analytics solution given a situation. This paper has used the case study method, a qualitative research method, due to the need to carry out investigation within the actual business (company) environment, in order to be able to fully understand and verify factors affecting analytics from the viewpoint of all stakeholders. This study provides a set of 15 factors from business, company, and market environments, including their importance in business analytics.

The importance of knowledge sharing in healthcare organisations cannot be overemphasised. This is mainly due to the dynamic and sensitive nature of knowledge within the healthcare sector that can assist in caring for the patients and other administrative operations. The absence of knowledge sharing and retention practice in healthcare organisations may result in negative repercussions. Hence, using Actor-Network Theory, the study will investigate and identify the factors influencing the current knowledge sharing taking place within the South African healthcare system. One of the top healthcare organisations was selected for data collection, and a qualitative research method was adopted in this study. The findings revealed the different actors involved in the sharing of knowledge and the networks that enable knowledge sharing and retention. The study also highlights the factors that triggered knowledge sharing.

Mobility and interactivity are two growing phenomena among youth. Mobile applications (apps) are capturing the attention of university students, which opens up a range of opportunities. Using a quantitative and qualitative research method, the possible usefulness of applications in the university environment with an entertainment objective is studied. It is concluded that from the student perspective, interactive applications specialized in their profile are well received and that the main criteria of choice are quality and price. A significant relationship is observed between age and use of social networks to plan entertainment. Spanish university students, therefore, need a specialized app that covers their leisure and entertainment needs digitally and efficiently.
