BACKGROUND The COVID-19 pandemic compelled many countries including Malaysia to impose movement restrictions to curb spreading the virus. Evidence shows that prolonged isolation has negative effects on both physical and mental health. OBJECTIVE Our aims were to examine (1) the mediating effect of perceived social isolation (SI) and fear of social isolation (FSI) on the relationship between gratitude and anxiety, and (2) to explore the moderating effect of age, education and socioeconomic status on the mediation model. METHODS We collected data from 427 participants currently living in Malaysia during the movement restriction order (Mage = 37.90, SD = 16.51, 313 females) from an online survey containing questions pertaining to isolation and gratitude. RESULTS Our mediation analysis showed that gratitude has a positive effect on overcoming anxiety as it also lowers feelings of SI and FSI (B = -.229, β = .128, bootstrap SE = .049, 95% bootstrap CI = [-.332, -.138]). The moderated mediation analyses revealed the indirect effect of gratitude on anxiety through SI was significant for young adults (B = -.148, β = .083, 95% bootstrap CI [-.274, -.042]) and middle-aged (B = -.099, β = -.055, 95% bootstrap CI [-.177, -.033]) but not for older adults (B = -.026, β = -.015, 95% bootstrap CI [-.129, .047]). Results were similar for FSI in that it was significant for middle aged and not significant for older adults (all CIs does not include zero). However the mediation effect was not significant for young adults (B = -.020, β = -.011, 95% bootstrap CI [-.066, .016]). When we examined the moderating effect of education and SES in the parallel mediation model, results showed that the mediation effect of SI and FSI for those with lower levels of education was significant for all SES levels (all CIs did not contain zero). As for those with medium levels of education, the conditional indirect effect of SI and FSI was significant only for low and medium levels of SES but not for high SES. CONCLUSIONS Our findings highlight the importance of having some coping mechanism and social connection during the pandemic to have higher wellbeing and quality of life, especially for middle-aged sample and people from low education and SES background. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among growth orientation, job crafting and creative behavior. Specifically, this study examined the mediating effect of job crafting on the relationship between growth orientation and creative behavior. Also, this study was intended to examine the moderating effect of development culture on the relationship between growth orientation and job crafting. In addition, the moderated mediation effect of developmental culture was examined in relation to growth orientation and creative behavior. Data were collected among 294 employees who were working in various companies via online survey. The results showed that growth orientation was positively related to job crafting and creative behavior, and job crafting partially mediated the relationship between growth orientation and creative behavior. Also when development culture of the organization was strong, the relation of growth orientation to job crafting was stronger, confirming the moderating effect of development culture. In addition, the moderated mediation effect of developmental culture was found. Based on the results of this study, implications, l implications, limitations, and future research were discussed.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore the moderated effect of family involvement on the relationship between information and communication technology (ICT) and firm performance. Design/methodology/approach According to agency and transaction cost theories, distinctive family business characteristics provide a unique context that favours a more efficient use of ICT. The authors perform a multivariate analysis that includes the moderating effect of family involvement and considers the possible endogeneity of the ICT variable. Findings The results, using a large panel of Spanish manufacturing firms, confirm the importance of family involvement for explaining differences in terms of the impact of this technology in family and non-family businesses. The relationship between ICT and performance is stronger for family firms than for non-family firms. Research implications The paper provides new evidence for the academic literature on ICT impact and family firms. It corroborates the importance of using an organizational perspective to explain differences in the effect of ICT on performance. Practical implications Family firms should understand the opportunities that family involvement offers regarding ICT impact on performance, and exploit this moderating effect to achieve competitive advantages. Originality/value No previous studies deal with the impact of family involvement on ICT-performance analysis. This study fills this gap and increases the understanding of how family business involvement moderates the ICT-performance relationship.

The first purpose of this study was to examine the effect of continuous learning activity on organizational commitment and work engagement. The second purpose was to testify the mediating effect of self-perceived employability in the relationship between continuous learning activity and organizational commitment/work engagement. The third purpose was to examine the moderating effect of informal networking of employees in the relationship between continuous learning activity and self-perceived employability. The fourth purpose was to examine the moderating effect of distributive justice in the relationship between self-perceived employability and organizational commitment, and the final purpose was to testify the moderating effect of growth needs in the relationship between self-perceived employability and work engagement. Data were gathered from 264 employee who were working in various organizations in Korea. As results, continuous learning activity had positive relationships with organizational commitment and work engagement. Self-perceived employability had mediation effect in the relationship between continuous learning activity and organizational commitment/work engagement. Informal networking of employees had moderating effect in the relationship continuous learning activity and self-perceived employability because the relationship was more positive when informal networking of employees was high than low. Distributive justice had moderating effect in the relationship self-perceived employability and organizational commitment because the relationship was more positive when distributive justice was high than low. Also growth needs had moderating effect in the relationship self-perceived employability and work engagement because the relationship was more positive when growth needs was high than low. The implications for research and practice, limitations, and future research tasks were discussed.

The first purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of job satisfaction on the relationship between job autonomy and innovation behavior. The second purpose was to examine the moderating effect of proactive personality and openness to experience on the relationship between job autonomy and job satisfaction, And the third purpose was to examine the moderating effects of climate for innovation on the relationship between job satisfaction and innovation behavior. Data were gathered from 338 employees who were working in various organizations in Korea. As results, job autonomy had positive relationship with job satisfaction and innovation behavior, and job satisfaction had mediation effect on the relationship between job autonomy and innovation behavior. Proactive personality and openness to experience had moderating effects on the relationship job autonomy and job satisfaction because the relationship was more positive when proactive personality and openness to experience was high than low. Also climate for innovation had moderating effect on the relationship job satisfaction and innovation behavior because the relationship was more positive when climate for innovation was high than low. The implications for research and practice, limitations, and future research tasks were discussed.
