scholarly journals Enhanced Logistics Information Service Systems Performance: Using Theoretical Model and Cybernetics’ Principles

Outsourcing logistics has established itself in the area of the LSP (Logistics Service Provider), which offers a range of services to its customers. In this line, transportation is characterized as one of the most important services, and therefore efficient fleet management is essential for establishing a high level of customer service. In this paper, we considered intellectual procedures for modeling the management of logistics information service system in the class of the problem, solved method of the theory of queuing system (QS). Examples of constructing mathematical models for the management of logistics information systems are given.

Abstract The process of Outsourcing Logistics Service (OLS) is deemed incipient in the management of organizations, not only because of the operational problems it presents, but also of its difficulties fitting into the company’s overall strategy. The present theoretical study, building on the resource-based view of the firm, aims to propose a framework that guides managers in developing strategies to OLS starting from the operational structure to establish the necessary resources, capabilities, and routines. In addition, taken into account is the importance of analyzing risks and resilience in the environment, concomitantly with the analysis of the operational structure. Thus, four questions were developed, aimed at leading operations managers to reflect on the development of the strategy. The framework proposed for OLS considers the supply chain management department as the main interlocutor of the strategy. This framework can be adapted according with the necessity of the contracting company, and its main intention is to enable the establishment of a project that contemplates the necessary resources, the capabilities (criteria), and the operational routines (subcriteria) for the selection of a logistics service provider in the market, one which truly addresses the needs of the organization. This framework is already intrinsic in the practical actions of the authors, because of their extensive advisory activity over the last five years in OLS to logistics service provider. In addition, it is worth mentioning that so far in the tacit applications of this framework there has been no application similar to another.

The modeling of logistics information system is research. Firstly, the development of industrial cluster is introduced. The unified logistics information system is needed. Secondly, ARIS method is presented. Then the target image and organization structure are analyzed and the logistics business model of Beijing digital TV Park is set up. Finally, the application of ARIS-based logistics business modeling is innovative and practical for Industry Park.

Abstract In recent years, with the rapid development of big data, traditional offline transactions have been moved to online in large numbers driven by the Internet. The virtual nature of online transactions has caused it to have problems such as difficulty in guaranteeing product quality and difficulty in user consultation. In addition, consumers are paying more and more attention to the quality of services, and the participation of customer service in the process of online transactions is very important. However, the current e-commerce market in our country is large and the number of online shopping users is extremely large. Customer service personnel are facing great work pressure. In addition, customer service has the characteristics of difficulty in recruiting, high labor costs, and high turnover rate. Such a dilemma is not conducive to our country. The sound development of e-commerce needs to be solved urgently. In order to solve these problems, it is a good method to apply related technologies to realize the automatic response of customer service. The purpose of this article is to design and research a customer service system based on big data machine learning. This article first through the understanding of the basic concepts of big data, and then extend the core technology of big data. Combining with the design ideas and concepts of contemporary customer service systems in our country, we will discuss the design and research of customer service systems based on big data machine learning. Research shows that traditional customer service in the era of big data can no longer meet people’s growing needs, and customer service systems based on big data machine learning are more efficient and convenient.

This chapter shows a systems technologies framework to lead the approach to design information service system architecture standing on the systems concept. It also presents application examples for building smart public infrastructures. Moreover, it shows that a systems concept, autonomous decentralization, gives a consistent design approach for the reference architecture, the concrete architecture, and the implementation. The presented service system provides an autonomous process for a service receiver to get valued information changing the state of the receiver. The example of the service system provides, recursively, the information to see in smart public infrastructures (MIERUKA in Japanese) for rapid decision making among stakeholders in the business process.

AbstractIn India, Manufacturing companies are primarily being concentrated on the production activities which led to drastic improvement of outsourcing logistics process to third party logistics (3PLS), consequently a strong outsourcing logistics can be observed over the next two decades for the development of a company. It may therefore be noted that the enhancement and extrusion are necessary in order to effectively asses risk and opportunities. To achieve this, the best logistics service provider which leads to the growth of organisation and industry has to be selected. The present work aims at the integration of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) in Fuzzy environment. The integration is carried out with more consistency while evaluating and selecting the best Logistics service provider based on ten coordination criteria viz. Custom Clearance, On Time Delivery, Number of Customers Handled, Placement Percentage, Tracking Status, Service Quality, Solving of Issues, Collecting Proof of Delivery, Region and Price. Fuzzy AHP is used to calculate relative weights of each coordination criterion. Logistics service providers are ranked based on closeness coefficient, calculated for each LSP using Fuzzy TOPSIS. By this method the LSP5 has selected as best logistic service provider among the seven LSP for battery manufacturing company.

Service systems, particularly those related to customer service, an institution faced with the problem of how to provide the best service to the customer. At a service system, generally a queue of customers who ask to be served. In operations research theory, there is one device that can be used to solve the problems of the queue, the queue model. This study aims to find answers to the problems faced by a queue of supermarkets in Depok, namely PSFJ. In that context too, the issue that always arises is whether these facilities economically sufficient, if no improvement system then the cost will be lower or not.

Nowadays, the demand of third-party logistics provider becomes an increasingly important issue for companies to improve their customer service and to decrease logistics costs. This paper presents an integrated fuzzy approach for the evaluation and selection of 3rd party logistics service providers. This method consists of two techniques: (1) use fuzzy analytic hierarchy process to identify weights of evaluation criteria; (2) apply fuzzy technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) method to evaluate and sequence alternatives and to make the final selection. Finally, an actual industrial application is performed in logistics department of a tire manufacturing company. For this, first, eight logistics supplier selection criteria were determined, and then the best alternative among seven logistics service provider companies was selected by the proposed method.

The robustness of customer service system for telecommunications industry is researched. To overcome existing robustness defect of node failure in current network robust research model, node efficiency assessment of robustness is employed, generalized evolution theory is taken into, and changes process of telecommunications customer service systems is simulated. In analysis of conditions in different interference, robustness performance is presented. Simulation results show that the method considering the telecommunications industry to build robust customer service system is feasible and effective for large, complex networks, which has a good capability of computing power.
