Introduction. Currently, leading economists from different countries are paying more and more attention to the issue of ”sustainable development”, as this issue is currently relevant not only for the country's economy as a whole, but also at the enterprise level. However, because this is a multifaceted and complex category. Many questions arise around it and they remain insufficiently studied and require in-depth research. The purpose of the paper. The scientific literature contains different approaches and different interpretations of the concept of “sustainable development” each scientist interprets this concept in his research. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the historical aspects of the emergence of this concept, to summarize the existing approaches to the interpretation of the category of “sustainable development” and to provide their own understanding of this concept. Find out the main components of sustainable development at the macro and micro levels and provide their characteristics, as well as understand what factors influence the sustainable development of the enterprise. Results. This paper analyzes the history of the concept of sustainable development, notes the basic principles of sustainable development. The approaches of various scientific opinions to the definition of “sustainable development” have been studied, generalized and systematized. Using the experience of domestic and foreign scientists on the interpretation of the concept of sustainable development, defined their own vision of the essence of the concept, and defined the concept of “sustainable development of the enterprise”. The conceptual foundations of the theory of sustainable development, which see a combination of certain basic components, were analyzed. The paper describes the above components of sustainable development in terms of enterprise: economic, social, environmental. The main factors influencing the sustainable development of an industrial enterprise are identified. Conclusion. Thus, the needs of a market economy in modern conditions require more flexibility from enterprises, more policies that are «modern» and strategies of competition. This, in turn, encourages companies to seek new approaches to conducting their business. It is the trajectory of sustainable development of economic activity of the enterprise and is one of the key activities of economic entities, which will contribute to the effective results of this activity.

In the first part a definition of sustainable development is given and the short history of this idea is shown. Then the concept of Sustainable energy is introduced. The second part describes main policies of European Union on sustainable policy and the Polish Legal System on Renewable Energy is described. The fifth part of the paper analyzes the sustainable development indicators provided by Eurostat for the energy produced from renewable resources. there are 6 indicators analyzed. In the end the forecasts for the development of RES in Poland is given. There are clues for development of different technologies in different provinces of Poland. There are also forecasts for the development of the renewable energy market in Poland.

The purpose of the article is to reveal the main theoretical and methodological aspects of organizational and institutional support for sustainable development of entrepreneurship in agriculture. Research methods. During the research, dialectical methods of scientific knowledge of the process of sustainable development of entrepreneurship in agriculture were used, primarily analysis and synthesis as well as induction and deduction to characterize the organizational and institutional parts of the provision. Research results. It has been established that the system of organizational and institutional support for sustainable development of entrepreneurship in agriculture combines various interdisciplinary aspects of the economic, social and environmental components for organizing activities in the sustainable development system and forming the rules and systems by which these components function. The institutional component of ensuring the activities of the enterprise makes it possible to combine various organizational processes and form various directions in production to ensure the implementation of the goals of the social, environmental or economic components of sustainable development of entrepreneurship in agriculture. Scientific novelty. The main points of organizational and institutional support for sustainable development of entrepreneurship in agriculture are described and the main components of this process are revealed. Practical significance. The main features of organizational and institutional support of sustainable development should be used as a basis for further research into the nature of institutions and the process of organizing production for the system of sustainable development of entrepreneurship. The article identifies the main problems of sustainable development of modern Russian society (quality of life, demography, spatial development, welfare of the population, etc.). The key subsystems of sustainable development of regional socio-economic systems (economic, social, environmental, institutional) are analyzed. The role and significance of the institutional subsystem in the sustainable development of regional socio-economic systems is substantiated. The main reasons for the instability of the institutional subsystem of regional development are identified and a number of measures that need to be taken to improve the efficiency of the domestic economy are indicated. The author’s definition of the category “sustainable development of regional socio-economic systems” is presented. Based on the analysis, a graphical model of the interaction of key subsystems of sustainable development of the region is built. Based on the author’s interpretation of the classical production function, a functional dependence of the sustainable development of the regional socio-economic system on the combination of factors of key subsystems is proposed.

The article emphasizes the fact that traditional socio-economic indicators do not reflect the challenges of sustainable development adequately, and this is particularly true for the widely-used GDP indicator. In this connection the elaboration of sustainable development indicators is needed, taking into account economic, social and environmental factors. For Russia, adaptation and use of concepts and basic principles of calculation methods for adjusted net savings index (World Bank) and human development index (UNDP) as integral indicators can be promising. The authors have developed the sustainable development index for Russia, which aggregates and allows taking into account balanced economic, social and environmental indicators.

AbstractWhile there is a growing effort towards AI for Sustainability (e.g. towards the sustainable development goals) it is time to move beyond that and to address the sustainability of developing and using AI systems. In this paper I propose a definition of Sustainable AI; Sustainable AI is a movement to foster change in the entire lifecycle of AI products (i.e. idea generation, training, re-tuning, implementation, governance) towards greater ecological integrity and social justice. As such, Sustainable AI is focused on more than AI applications; rather, it addresses the whole sociotechnical system of AI. I have suggested here that Sustainable AI is not about how to sustain the development of AI per say but it is about how to develop AI that is compatible with sustaining environmental resources for current and future generations; economic models for societies; and societal values that are fundamental to a given society. I have articulated that the phrase Sustainable AI be understood as having two branches; AI for sustainability and sustainability of AI (e.g. reduction of carbon emissions and computing power). I propose that Sustainable AI take sustainable development at the core of its definition with three accompanying tensions between AI innovation and equitable resource distribution; inter and intra-generational justice; and, between environment, society, and economy. This paper is not meant to engage with each of the three pillars of sustainability (i.e. social, economic, environment), and as such the pillars of sustainable AI. Rather, this paper is meant to inspire the reader, the policy maker, the AI ethicist, the AI developer to connect with the environment—to remember that there are environmental costs to AI. Further, to direct funding towards sustainable methods of AI.

Education must guide students’ emotional development, not only to improve their skills and help them achieve their maximum performance, but to establish the foundations of a more cooperative and compassionate society. Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, therefore, implies focusing on emotional aspects as well as financial, social, environmental, and scientific objectives. In this line, the goal of this study is to show how emotional intelligence, which is an essential dimension in the development and management of emotional competences required to build sustainable societies, plays a key role in optimising student’s academic performance in the classroom through compassion and academic commitment. The research model was tested with a questionnaire addressed to 550 students from four higher education institutions and one secondary school. The results of a structural equation analysis confirmed the study hypotheses. Emotional intelligence was shown to be positively related to compassion and higher levels of commitment, which, consequently, led to better academic performance. This finding will encourage interest in developing emotional intelligence, not only for its long-term value in training healthy citizens, but also for its short-term results in the classroom.

This article describes on the one hand statistical methods for assessing informal employment based on the requirements as set by international standards. On the other hand it describes the potential of integrating various data sources to generate informal employment statistics. With as example official statistics of the Russian Federation, the authors show the features of applying the requirements of international standards. Methods are proposed for assessing informal employment in the formal sector of the economy, i.e. in enterprises that submit employment reports to the National Statistical Office. This phenomenon appears in the employment situation of many countries. However, there is no uniformity between countries in how they evaluate the application of the international standards in such assessment exercises. A theoretical model of informal employment is developed and validated based on statistical data published by international organizations. The validation focuses on assessing the causal relationships between informal employment indicators and the main components of the sustainable development goals. This analysis contributes to coordinated decisions on regulating informal employment and ensuring the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The strategies for sustainable development have been included in the medium and long term plan of 2010 for national economic and social development. Protecting the environment is the most important prerequisite and safeguards for the sustainable development strategy. In the study, we described the history of the environmental problems in the world, the proposal and implications of sustainable development, and outlined the dialectical relationship of development with the environment. The environmental protection measures for sustainable development were proposed here, according to the environmental situation severely affecting its biophysical environment.

After nearly 20 years of development, agricultural S&T parks in Beijing have become an important carrier and the leading force for the metropolitan modern agriculture development in the capital, and an important model for the modern agriculture development in metropolis. But in the process of the agricultural S&T parks development, low park productivity, insufficient regional integrated development and sustainable development fatigue widely exist. Under the construction of "World City with Chinese Characteristics" and "Humanistic, S&T and Green Beijing", agricultural S&T parks are facing higher development requirements, and it has become a very urgent need to innovatively transform the model of agricultural S&T parks development from "introduction-demonstration-popularization" to "innovation-service-combination of the two". In this paper, based on the scientific analysis of the current situation of agricultural S&T parks in Beijing and the objective analysis of the environmental conditions, by applying such theoretic approaches as strategic analysis, value analysis, knowledge network and so on, the author proposes the innovative development model for agricultural S&T parks in Beijing, including path model of "integration of urban and rural development" at regional level, business model of "three-chain integration" at park operation level and the profitability model of "knowledge creation" at enterprise level. Thees innovative models are of great significance to the sustainable development of agricultural S&T parks in Beijing and other metropolis.
