The main factors affecting road safety are outlined. The main methods of road accident analysis are presented, which will allow accurate determination of areas of high danger. By distributing road traffic accidents along the length of the road, it is possible to identify such areas and areas where road conditions have a dominant influence on the emergence of accidents, which is important in planning measures to improve traffic safety. It is proved that the effectiveness of the result depends on the precisely defined areas where first of all it is necessary to implement measures to improve road safety. It is completely impossible to predict the occurrence of traffic accidents because many different factors influence them. These factors relate both to traffic conditions on the motorway and to the impact of the traffic flow itself, a separate vehicle, a human factor, weather conditions etc. Therefore, there is a need for a comprehensive approach in solving a complex problem is increasing road safety. The purpose of this article is to: reduce the number of accidents and their victims on the highways of Ukraine by means of the priority implementation of measures to improve road conditions and improve the organization of traffic on highway sections of high danger identified by the results of linear analysis of accidents. Linear accident analysis provides an opportunity not only to effectively and reasonably plan events, but also to evaluate the outcome of their implementation. Reducing the number of traffic accidents and their victims in highway sections of high danger identified by the results of linear accident analysis is the best method for creating safe traffic conditions. Purposeful financing of measures aimed primarily at eliminating the most dangerous in terms of accident rate of road sections and the main risk factors of an accident will allow to reduce the number of accidents and the severity of their consequences. Keywords: road safety, linear analysis, methods of analysis.

The issues of public transport service, its quality, road safety along the route are becoming a priority worldwide. After all, ensuring the safety of public transport serves to increase its attractiveness. Research-based on different approaches to road safety is being conducted in the areas. However, the issue of road safety in public transport remains relevant. Traffic accidents on bus routes occur mainly at intersections, haul sections, and intermediate stops. Intersections of single-level highways are among the areas where traffic accidents are most likely to occur. It should be noted that the assessment of road safety in public transport is based not only on traffic accidents and violations but also on the intensity and variability of traffic and pedestrian traffic, the degree of organization of traffic, road condition and geometric elements, parameters of intermediate stations and many other factors. It is advisable to tie. Therefore, this research work aims to assess the traffic safety of directional buses and consists of several stages. This article is devoted to improving the method of assessing road safety at intersections of single-level highways.

Abstract In 2020 the Lithuanian Government approved traffic safety programme Vision Zero. One of the integral measures applied to improve traffic safety and to reduce the number of road traffic infringements is the development of average speed cameras’ network on state significance roads. It is planned that the network of average speed cameras will cover more than 800 km of state significance road network in Lithuania in 2020-2021. Initially, it was planned to implement these measures only on rural roads. However, taking into consideration the principles of road eligibility for average speed camera installation, some road sections crossing the so-called linear settlements were selected to test the impact of such systems on driving habits as well. It is presumed that from the beginning of exploitation of these systems the reduction in the consequences of severe traffic accidents on the selected most dangerous state significance road sections will be observed.

Study of the tasks and functions of police in the sphere of traffic safety is dedicated to many scientific researches due to the fact that the significance of the topic has not lost its relevance, the evidence of the disappointing official statistics about the dead and received various degrees of injury severity in traffic accidents and also due to the fact that the quantity of transport in Russia is constantly increasing, and the problems of transport security are not solved. At the same time, research related to the implementation by the police of the functions of providing public services in this area is of particular importance, because despite the fact that this area of police activity is not the main one, and is not provided with state-power enforcement, it nevertheless plays a significant role in ensuring public safety in the field of traffic. Indirectly, the police, through the function of providing public services, by issuing permits for the transport of dangerous goods, issuing permits for the right to drive, etc., minimizes and reduces the threat of harm to life and health, property, and citizens involved in road traffic. In the article, the author sets a task to investigate the legislation that establishes liability for violation of the procedure for providing public services in the field of road safety, to suggest ways to improve it. The author defines public services in the field of road safety and defines their essence. The author analyzes Federal and departmental legislation, identifies the features of bringing to justice police officers for improper provision of public services. The article draws conclusions about the existence of certain shortcomings in the legislation in this area and suggests ways to eliminate them.

In spite of great progress in international traffic safety works, traffic accidents still cause a large and increasing number of fatalities and severe injuries particularly in developing countries like Bangladesh. Sustained declining trends of road fatalities in the developed countries have been attributed to concerted efforts in many sectors including effective coordination, community involvement, well researched road safety initiatives, road safety good practices and improved targeting of resources. The statistics revealed that Bangladesh has one of the highest fatality rates in road accidents with over 50 fatalities per 10,000 on-road motor vehicles. In this paper, it is trying to show in detail the magnitude and impact of road traffic injuries using evidence at global and national levels with particular importance of regional variance. This evidence shows how serious the problem of road traffic injuries is at present and indicates that it will become worse if no appropriate action is taken now. This paper also briefly discusses the factors that play a part in accident generation process in interaction with road environment, road-user and vehicle and outlines some target oriented priority actions to prevent this recurrent loses.
