Traditional English teaching practice often centers on the teacher and implements the teaching mode of “exemplifying by the teacher-answering by students-evaluating by the teacher”. This inflexible teaching mode fails to fully exert student’s subjective function; at the same time, due to the lack of necessary guidance and help from teachers, students are more likely to suffer from learning burnout and low self-confidence. With this regard, an English multimedia teaching mode was proposed in this study based on Krashen’s “Language Input Theory”. The theory is characterized by emphasizing the analysis of English language learning from the perspectives of “acquisition” and “learning”, advocating “understanding” of knowledge and using student-centered teaching methods. In this study, Krashen’s theory was combined with interactive learning methods and multimedia information technology to form an English teaching mode focused on “teacher-student”, “student-student” and “student-computer” interactions and build an “in class- after class” and “online-offline” English learning environment. This mode was practically applied in the teaching of “College English” at Hohai University in Jiangsu Province, China. The results show that the English multimedia teaching mode based on Krashen’s theory is more effective than the traditional teaching mode in improving students’ interest and self-confidence in learning.

At present, a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation with information technology at its core is accelerating. The challenge of new economy and new industry has put forward new requirements for the training of talents in China. The challenges of new economy and new industry have put forward new requirements for the cultivation of engineering talents in China. Based on corpus, this study constructed a model of intelligent English teaching assisted by virtual corpus. The traditional teaching of college English reading is based on, around, and for texts. Using DDL model, teachers can break the limitation of textbooks. On the basis of analyzing the general idea of the text, they can search out massive real corpus related to the general idea of the text by searching the core words in the text, so as to provide extensive reading resources for students in the maximum range. At the same time, teachers can rely on the corpus to design different types of teaching activities, realize student-centered task-based, inquiry-based, and autonomous learning and cultivate students’ critical thinking ability, practical ability, and cross-cultural communication ability. This model breaks the limitation of “classroom + textbook,” realizes student-centered task-based, exploratory, and autonomous learning, trains interdisciplinary new engineering talents needed by emerging industries and new economy in the future, and promotes the sustainable development of English teaching. Corpus-data-driven college English teaching mode breaks the limitation of “classroom + textbook,” changes the traditional college English teaching mode, and realizes student-centered task-oriented, inquiry-based, and autonomous learning.

This research focuses on the effect of reinforcement during English Language Learning (ELL) classroom activities of Bangladeshi primary level education. The findings of the research indicate that teachers follow both positive and negative reinforcement as part of their teaching-learning activities depending on the actual situation of the class. Positive reinforcement helps students to enhance their mental growth and also boost their learning behaviour. There are some negative influences on students’ behaviour when the teacher treats them with any kind of negative reinforcement. Although all the teachers believe that positive reinforcement helps to improve motivation, self-confidence, classroom participation, teacher-student relationship and effective learning of students during ELL classroom activities, a few teachers still use negative phrases which demotivate students towards learning rather than creating the eagerness to learn.

The research of grammar has been received much concern at home and abroad and the instruction of grammar is a focus and difficulty in English language teaching. The role of scholastic grammar has been paid little attention to for a long time. Some linguists and teachers believe that the traditional or school grammar should be the key in the classroom instruction, but others argue that scholastic grammar is a vital part in language itself. Based on the theories of second language learning and the viewpoints of Otto. Jespersen and H. Poutsma about scholastic grammar, this article conducts a research in colleges and analyzes the stylistic effect of attributive post-position from scholastic grammar perspective and finds that it is necessary to reconsider the important role of scholastic grammar in college English teaching. The paper ends with a conclusion about some implications of the present research for college English language teaching in China.

With the rapid development of information technology, multimedia-assisted instruction has been widely used in classroom teaching, especially in English classroom teaching, the importance of multimedia teaching has been generally recognized. However, there are still some problems in the practical application of multimedia teaching, which deserve further study. Taking 400 students and 50 teachers as the subjects of investigation, through my own English classroom teaching practice, observation and investigation, this paper explores and analyses the real situation of multimedia English teaching from many aspects, and reflects on how to improve multimedia English teaching more effectively in the multimedia environment. In English teaching, we should correctly view the position of multimedia in teaching, correctly understand the traditional English teaching relative to multimedia, organically combine multimedia English teaching with traditional English teaching, and pay attention to people-oriented, teacher-student interaction and emotional exchange in multimedia classroom teaching. Finally, according to the survey results, we can know that what is important is not the improvement of teaching methods and equipment but whether the teaching concept is updated.

The web-based collaborative teaching mode is the key to reforming the teaching mode and developing the teaching practice. To improve the traditional English teaching mode, this paper puts forward an innovative English teaching method for elementary, secondary and higher education based on the massive open online course (MOOC) and Google Collaboration platform. The research shows that it is possible for students to learn collaboratively under the guidance of teachers; the students can broaden their horizon by searching for more materials on the online collaboration platform, according to the objectives and themes laid down by the teachers; the proposed innovative English teaching method can improve the learning efficiency of the students, encourage them to participate in learning and collaboration, arouse their interest and enthusiasm in foreign language learning, and help them to gain insights into learning. The research findings provide technical support to the reform and innovation of English teaching mode, and lays a theoretical basis for deepening the reform of teaching methods in various disciplines.

At present, many problems exist in college oral English teaching, such as single teaching mode, lack of innovation, interactive communication and classroom planning. Experiential interactive teaching can develop the subjectivity of students by adjusting the teacher-student relationship as well as student-student interaction formed by the interaction. Improving the teaching effect and enhancing students’ autonomous learning ability are a good way for college oral English teaching. Under this teaching mode, college English teachers can actively transform the process of students ‘passive acquisition of knowledge into the process of students’ autonomous learning through various experiential interactive teaching methods.
