The interaction between education and technology affects the developments occurring in two areas and the developments in education increase the speed of technological developments. Educational technology is the functionalisation of the scientific knowledge produced in educational sciences and its application in practice. In this research, the content analysis of the studies conducted in Turkey and abroad in the last 5 years, in order to determine the current trends in educational technology researches, is presented. Within the scope of the purposive sample, the studies published in 2015–2020 in the field of educational technology researches, included in the databases and journals, were examined and interpretations were made. A total of 15 research criteria were determined within the context of content analysis. These criteria are index, country, university, department, year of publication, number of authors, research area, method, educational level, sample group, sample number, data collection method, number of bibliography, analysis techniques and research trends. SPSS 24 program was used in the analysis of the data and the obtained data are presented in the related tables. The data were interpreted based on percentage and frequency. After making general explanations below the tables, the similarities and differences seen in the studies were analysed in detail by using the meta-analysis method. As a result, it was revealed that the most emphasised issue within the scope of the research area was the adequacy of using educational technologies. Keywords: Educational technology research, current trends, meta-analysis.

This study aims to determine prospective chemistry teachers’ cognitive structures about the concept of globalization. The study employs case study- one of qualitative research methods. 20 prospective chemistry teachers were included in the research. The participants were chosen in purposeful sampling method. The research data were collected through a test of three open-ended questions developed by the researchers. The prospective teachers were asked questions on what globalization meant, what the environmental consequences of globalization were, and what the effects of globalization on the world were and they were required to answer the questions in writing. The written answers that prospective chemistry teachers gave to the open-ended questions will be put to content analysis. The findings to be obtained through content analysis were divided into themes related to the concept of globalization and categories defined. After the analysis of the themes and categories, prospective chemistry teachers’ cognitive structures about the concept of globalization were revealed and then the findings were discussed in details.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the specific features of the articles on augmented reality (AR) published in the journals of education indexed in the SSCI database between 2012 and 2017. In this context, the articles were examined in terms of their years of publication, number of authors, countries, educational disciplines/fields, types of AR, variables and methodological features. A total of 83 articles in 22 journals were analysed by content analysis. The results showed that the number of studies related to AR increased in 2014 and 2017 and they were predominantly carried out in the field of science education. Marker-based technologies were more preferred in the studies. The most examined variables in the articles were achievement and attitude. AR studies were mostly carried out by scientists working at universities in Taiwan. The sample size of 0–50 was mostly selected from university level, while the sample size of 50–100 was selected from primary school.   Keywords: Augmented reality, content analysis, educational research, article examination.

The COVID 19 pandemic created economic havoc around the world. Along with healthcare challenges, the pandemic has also been changing consumer lifestyles. It affects business structures and service delivery too. This article draws on an investigation of the effect of consumption emotions of Turkish consumers on consumer values during the COVID 19 Pandemic. A convenience sampling method was adopted in the study and a questionnaire survey was administered to collect 390 consumer cases. The results show that the consumption emotions of Turkish consumers during the COVID 19 Pandemichad a significant positive effect on consumer values. It was found that Turkish consumers were to feel anxiety, calmness and hope more often than not during the pandemic.

In this study, the major mastitis pathogen prevalence in the cattle and buffalo of the world was estimated by a meta-analysis. Staphylococcus (S) species, Streptococcus (St) species, and Escherichia coli (Ec) prevalence studies reported during 1979–2019 were collected using online databases, and offline resources. A meta-analysis of these data was done with the meta package in R-Software. The Staphylococcus aureus was the major mastitis pathogen, mostly causing subclinical mastitis, Ec causing clinical mastitis and St causing subclinical and clinical mastitis. The pooled prevalence estimates of S, St, and Ec were 28%, 12%, and 11% in the world from 156, 129, and 92 studies, respectively. The S, St, and Ec prevalences were high in Latin America (51%), Oceania (25%), and Oceania (28%), respectively. Higher S, St, and Ec prevalences were observed by molecular methods, signifying high sensitivity and usefulness for future studies. Among bacterial species, S. aureus (25%) followed by coagulase-negative Staphylococcus species (20%), Escherichia coli (11%), St. agalactiae (9%), St. uberis (9%) were the important pathogens present in the milk of the world. We hypothesize that there is a urgent need to reduce mastitis pathogen prevalence by ensuring scientific farm management practices, proper feeding, therapeutic interventions to augment profits in dairying, and improving animal and human health.

Abstract Background Pollen limitation occurs widely and has an important effect on flowering plants. The East Himalaya-Hengduan Mountains region is a global biodiversity hotspot. However, to our knowledge, no study has synthetically assessed the degree of pollen limitation in this area. The present study aims to reveal the degree of pollen limitation for the flowering plants growing on East Himalaya-Hengduan Mountains and to test whether the reproductive features or the elevation is closely correlated with the degree of pollen limitation in this area. Results We complied data from 76 studies, which included 96 species and 108 independent data records. We found that the flowering plants in this area undergo severe pollen limitation [overall Hedges’ d = 2.004, with a 95% confidence interval (1.3264, 2.6743)] that is much higher than that of the flowering plants growing in many other regions around the world. The degree of pollen limitation was tested to determine the correlation with the capacity for autonomous self-reproduction and with the pollination pattern (generalized vs. specialized pollination) of plants. In addition, we found a clear relationship between elevation and the degree of pollen limitation, which indicates that plants might undergo more severe pollen limitation in relatively high places. Conclusions This paper is the first to address the severe pollen limitation of the flowering plants growing in East Himalaya-Hengduan Mountains region. Moreover, we reveal the positive correlation between elevation and the degree of pollen limitation.

The purpose of this transcendental phenomenological study was to understand the bereaved Older males’ experiences with the interaction and ownership of a companion animal after the death of their partner. The primary researcher recruited 13 participants via a criterion-based purposeful sampling method to assure the quality of the information collected. Results revealed six themes: (a) bonds with their pets grew stronger and closer after the loss of their wife; (b) men were able to express their grief to their pets; (c) companion animals helped the men psychologically during grief; (d) pets were influential during times when the wife’s presence would have been valuable; (e) companion animals helped men with loneliness and social connection; and (f) companion animals helped men find a new normal by providing a purpose and routine during bereavement. The pets proved to be a source of support for these widowed men.
