This chapter shows that the role of new technologies in global democracy is very important. First, the concept of democracy is analyzed with particular reference to participation and (access to) information. Second, it is explained that democracy should not be limited to the national level because of the major changes of globalization and because of the fact that these changes influence the everyday lives of billions of people. Examples of the United Nations and the European Union are examined, the former as an example of what could be done and how (with regard to individuals' participation) and the latter as an example of what has already been achieved. Finally, it is explained how and under which conditions new technologies could help build more democratic and more participatory processes on the international level. The concept of access is the central link between information and communication technologies on the one side and international participatory democracy on the other.

The aim of the paper is to characterize selected indicator of computer literacy - internet work at three levels of Slovakia (state, district and municipality). The paper will be based by data from the Statistical Office of the European Union and Statistical Office of the Slovak republic. The methods of analysis, synthesis as well as graphical and cartographic methods will be the main methods used in the paper. Based on the achieved results, it can be stated that Slovakia achieved an average of 51.4 % in the development of internet use. It is very just above the EU average. At the regional level, the highest rate of internet use is manifested in the western part of Slovakia. At the local level in the case of the Nitra district, the internet was mostly used in the hinterland of the city of Nitra.

Abstract: In the era of the technological boom, in which all daily activities are affected by the use of new technologies, it is important to discover the shortcomings of the teaching of translation and interpretation in general and of translation and specialized interpretation in minority languages in particular. Moreover, in today's multicultural society, it is essential to be able to master computer tools that have the purpose of facilitating the work of the translator / interpreter and this can be done through a coordinated effort between the different training institutions at national and international level. This short paper has two aims: on the one hand, to present some projects and initiatives related to the training of Translation and Interpreting students in the field of information and communication technologies and, on the other hand, to describe some useful tools for the creation of corpus by the students in general and by the students of linguistic combinations that have few bilingual dictionaries, such as students from the Romanian-Spanish combination, among other minority languages.

In the face of the advance of new technologies that has been occurring and reaching all sectors of society, this article presents a discussion guided by scholars about the changes that are occurring in education. It is important to think of how you can use so many resources available today while providing power changes in the teaching-learning process which until then was seen as something static and conservative. The task of the teacher in the twenty-first century is no longer ready to take the knowledge to the student, but rather has the role of acting as a mediator and facilitator in the process of knowledge construction. The changes that are taking place have led educators to seek knowledge and expertise so that they can perform satisfactorily their role in society.

Abstract Nowadays, companies are increasingly forced to fight against competition. The number of competitors on the market is constantly growing, and customer’s demands on the products offered by the companies are increasing. The role of customers on the market has changed in recent years. Customers are more active than before, i.e. they started to actively co-create value, so they stopped being passive to the purchase process. Organizations that make appropriate use of the increase in customer activity can count on large benefits for the company. One of the methods to increase competitiveness is continuous introduction of new technologies based on the Internet, which recently resulted in easier cooperation between customers and suppliers, making and settling transactions, coordination of orders in the supply chain thanks to e.g. solution supporting electronic exchange of EDI documents. Therefore, the development of information and communication technologies has significantly influenced the development of organization through its improvement. This paper presents the importance of new technologies for the customer that improve the process of its service in a selected clothing sales network in Poland.

Recently, many articles deal with Internet and mobile phones that have penetrated all sectors of the economy, including agriculture, in the light of their benefits. Various reports, including the World Bank, describe the main benefits of new information and communication technologies and promote their greater integration into the wider economy to increase efficiency by completing other production factors and fostering innovation, for example, drastically reducing transaction costs. The article analyzes recent literature but also presents novelty elements that emerged from questions such as the risks associated with new technologies considering that there are not enough studies in the field confirming, on the one hand, the benefits but also the losses caused by them. Keyword: New technology, agriculture, innovation
