The global crisis in United States began as the form of the mortgage crisis in the housing market. Profound effects the financial crisis emerged in 2008 spread rapidly throughout the world as a result of globalization and also its effects were felt in our country. Both in earlier crises and the emergence and spread of the global economic crisis in the cyclical indicators are known to play an important role. There are different opinions on this subject in the literature. It is seen that there is a relation between the global crisis in the financial sectors and the construction sector based on mostly housing industry. Especially in the developing countries like Turkey, the construction sector, which is an important contribution to the economic growth, is seen negatively affected by the global crisis. The aim of this study is to analyze the variations occurred in the construction industry during the 2008 global economic crisis and is to introduce how the construction sector is affected by the crisis. Here, Turkey's main economic indicators during the crisis are examined considering the construction sector and GDP growth rates. This chapter builds on an earlier chapter titled “International Diversity Management: Examples from the USA, South Africa, and Norway.” In the first version of this chapter, we found one common subject emerging when looking closer at all three examples. In all three cases we found a call for the moral and justice case for diversity management, instead of the business-case alone. Based on this commonality and in light of the ongoing global economic crisis and its possible deteriorating effect for the international diversity agenda we decided to offer a more critical account on international diversity management with this chapter. This chapter offers examples from the USA, South Africa and Greece. We conclude the chapter arguing that while the three countries face all different challenges due to the global economic crisis, the way governments across the world respond to the crisis is often similar, which endangers past diversity gains and translates in a backlash for diversity.

The purpose of the article is to present the analysis of the influence of economic crisis on the functioning of one of the Japanese IT corporations – Panasonic. The paper aims at specifying changes in Panasonic’s economic potential, and at presenting actions taken in order to improve its financial situation. After the crisis which took place in this part of the world in years 1997–1998, Panasonic (like many other corporations in Asia) introduced some mechanisms of protecting the company against the sudden loss of financial liquidity. Strong economic ties with European countries, as well as with the USA, resulted in significant deterioration in this corporation’s financial situation during the crisis in years 2007–2009. Nonetheless, the undertaken actions allowed it to remain one of the largest manufacturers of consumer and industrial electronics in the world.

The authors of the article hypothesize that the global economic crisis is closely related to an evident misbalance in service development. Service is claimed to be ambivalent, operating both as a means of quality assurance and a risk capital segment. The authors suggest that the remedy for the crisis involves ensuring an optimum balance between real economy and service sustainment.

Pregnancy in adolescence is now a very great concern for doctors, teachers and social workers throughout the world and yet about 95% of the publications on this topic have come from the USA. The remainder are mainly from the UK and Scandinavia. Other countries have produced only a small number of papers, focusing mainly on clinical problems such as the pathological events and complications during pregnancy or delivery. In France, the first paper to appear in a paediatric journal was published in 1977 in the French journal of school health (Martin, 1977). On the other hand, teenage magazines often contain articles about sexual behaviour and pregnancy in adolescence. There is now a great concern in the adolescents' press about the problems of sexuality, contraception, abortion and pregnancy, including advertising for pregnancy tests.
