With the advancement of technology we are heading towards a paperless environment. But there are still a large numbers of documents that exist in paper format in our daily lives. Thus the need to digitize these paper documents, archive them and view them at all times has arisen. The number of documents of a small organization may be in thousands, millions or even more. This chapter presents comparative analysis of different programming languages and libraries where it is intended to parallel process a huge stream of images which undergo unpredictable arrival of the images and variation in time. Since the parallelism can be implemented at different levels, different algorithms and techniques have also been discussed. It also presents the state of the art and discussion of various existing technical solutions to implement the parallelization on a hybrid platform for the real time processing of the images contained in a stream. Experimental results obtained using Apache Hadoop in combination with OpenMP have also been discussed.

The study of cognitive phenomena is best approached in an orderly manner. It must begin with an analysis of the function in intension at the heart of any cognitive domain (its knowledge base), then proceed to the manner in which such knowledge is put into use in real-time processing, concluding with a domain’s neural underpinnings, its development in ontogeny, etc. Such an approach to the study of cognition involves the adoption of different levels of explanation/description, as prescribed by David Marr and many others, each level requiring its own methodology and supplying its own data to be accounted for. The study of recursion in cognition is badly in need of a systematic and well-ordered approach, and this chapter lays out the blueprint to be followed in the book by focusing on a strict separation between how this notion applies in linguistic knowledge and how it manifests itself in language processing.

MARK tag is a common method in industrial image location. In allusion to the disadvantages of conventional MARK located, such as large numbers of templates training set,no scale and rotation ,harsh conditions and slow processing speed ,a improved matching strategy based on NCC is proposed in this paper. The method search and correct the sole MARK in the template, extract 25 grids normalized feature sequence. Then matching with all contour feature sequences extracted in the target image and finally locate the target MARK. The experiment results show that , the method has much robustness to scale and rotation and can meet the real-time processing requirements

With the existence of several programming languages such as C/C++, Java, C#, LISP, Prolog, Python, Simula, F#, Go, Haskell, Scala, Ruby, Dart, Swift, Groovy etc. and diverse paradigms like structured, object-oriented, list, aspect-oriented, service-oriented, web, mobile and logic programming, there is a need to perform an exhaustive comparative analysis of diverse compilers and environments before making a choice of implementation technology in software engineering. Optimization of compilers helps to reduce execution time by making use of high speed processor registers, thereby, eliminating redundant computation. This paper reports some series of performance analysis done with some popular programming languages including Java, C++, Python and PHP. Programs involving recursive and iterative functions like factorial of large numbers and binary search of large arrays were run on the various platforms with the execution time recorded in milliseconds and represented in a chart. This can aid in making a selection of the appropriate language to use for a given application domain.

The calculations required in project activities for engineering students are commonly performed in electronic spreadsheets. Practice has shown that utilizing those calculations could prove to be quite difficult for students of other fields. One of the causes for such situation (as well as partly for problems observed during Java and C programming languages courses) lies in the lack of a streamlined distribution structure for both the source data and the end results. A solution could be found in utilizing a shared approach for information structuring in spreadsheet and software environment, called “the Book Method”, which takes into account the engineering psychology issues regarding the user friendliness of working with electronic information. This method can be applied at different levels in academic institutions and at teacher training courses.

The article presents an analysis of three poems about war («The Tale of Our Lady and Russian Soldiers» («Slovo o Bogoroditse i Russkih Soldatah»), «The Attack» («Ataka»), «The Forties» («Sorokovye»)) written by D. Samoylov in different periods of his creative activity. On the basis of the existing research of the creative work of the famous poet of the 20th century, a multilevel characteristic of his war lyrics is given. The aim of the article is to characterize the specific features of the poetic language of such an original author by means of a lingvo-stylistic analysis of D. Samoilov’s poems, to reveal the richness and diversity of his artistic manner. The following research methods were used: analytical reading, comparative analysis, ontological method, a multilevel analysis of poetry. The author accentuates reminiscences in D. Samoilov’s war poetry, the contrast and contrast means, repetition as an artistic device, paronomasia in the stylistic mixture of linguistic means belonging to different levels. A multidimensional poet’s approach to the theme of the war is the conclusion of the article.

Abstract This study examines the use of discourse-level information to create expectations about reference in real-time processing, testing whether patterns previously observed among native speakers of English generalize to nonnative speakers. Findings from a visual-world eye-tracking experiment show that native (L1; N = 53) but not nonnative (L2; N = 52) listeners’ proactive coreference expectations are modulated by grammatical aspect in transfer-of-possession events. Results from an offline judgment task show these L2 participants did not differ from L1 speakers in their interpretation of aspect marking on transfer-of-possession predicates in English, indicating it is not lack of linguistic knowledge but utilization of this knowledge in real-time processing that distinguishes the groups. English proficiency, although varying substantially within the L2 group, did not modulate L2 listeners’ use of grammatical aspect for reference processing. These findings contribute to the broader endeavor of delineating the role of prediction in human language processing in general, and in the processing of discourse-level information among L2 users in particular.
