Applications of Artificial Intelligence in the Realm of Business Intelligence

The objective of this chapter is to discuss the integration of advancements made in the field of artificial intelligence into the existing business intelligence tools. Specifically, it discusses how the business intelligence tool can integrate time series analysis, supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques and natural language processing in it and unlock deeper insights, make predictions, and execute strategic business action from within the tool itself. This chapter also provides a high-level overview of current state of the art AI techniques and provides examples in the realm of business intelligence. The eventual goal of this chapter is to leave readers thinking about what the future of business intelligence would look like and how enterprise can benefit by integrating AI in it.

Over the years, artificial intelligence (AI) is spreading its roots in different areas by utilizing the concept of making the computers learn and handle complex tasks that previously require substantial laborious tasks by human beings. With better accuracy and speed, AI is helping lawyers to streamline work processing. New legal AI software tools like Catalyst, Ross intelligence, and Matlab along with natural language processing provide effective quarrel resolution, better legal clearness, and superior admittance to justice and fresh challenges to conventional law firms providing legal services using leveraged cohort correlate model. This paper discusses current applications of legal AI and suggests deep learning and machine learning techniques that can be applied in future to simplify the cumbersome legal tasks.

Internet provides a medium to connect with individuals of similar or different interests creating a hub. Since a huge hub participates on these platforms, the user can receive a high volume of messages from different individuals creating a chaos and unwanted messages. These messages sometimes contain a true information and sometimes false, which leads to a state of confusion in the minds of the users and leads to first step towards spam messaging. Spam messages means an irrelevant and unsolicited message sent by a known/unknown user which may lead to a sense of insecurity among users. In this paper, the different machine learning algorithms were trained and tested with natural language processing (NLP) to classify whether the messages are spam or ham.

Argument mining, a subfield of natural language processing and text mining, is a process of extracting argumentative text portions and identifying the role the selected texts play. Legal argument mining targets the argumentative parts of a legal text. In order to better understand how to apply legal argument mining as a step toward improving case summarization, we have assembled a sizeable set of cases and human-expert-prepared summaries annotated in terms of legal argument triples that capture the most important skeletal argument structures in a case. We report the results of applying multiple machine learning techniques to demonstrate and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of different methods to identify sentence components of these legal argument triples.

Sentiment analysis is computational measurement of attitude, opinions, and emotions (like positive/negative) with the help of text mining and natural language processing of words and phrases. Incorporation of machine learning techniques with natural language processing helps in analysing and predicting the sentiments in more precise manner. But sometimes, machine learning techniques are incapable in predicting sentiments due to unavailability of labelled data. To overcome this problem, an advanced computational technique called deep learning comes into play. This chapter highlights latest studies regarding use of deep learning techniques like convolutional neural network, recurrent neural network, etc. in sentiment analysis.
