Often at times many organisations fail to achieve the objectives of their enterprise business architecture (EBA). This can be attributed to lack of assessment of readiness. This is also because there are no models specific to EBA readiness assessment. The lack of readiness assessment before deployment often results to challenges such as uncoordinated business designs, lack of flow in processes, derailment of activities, which make cost of operations prohibitive, increase complexity in managing potential risks, and service stagnancy. These challenges led to this study whose aim was to propose a solution that can be used to assess the readiness of EBA in an organisation. From the interpretivist perspective, the case study approach was employed to gain better understanding of the factors that influence the readiness of EBA in an organisation. The hermeneutics approach was applied in the analysis of the data. The sudy reveals the factors that influence the deployment of business architecture in organisations.

Purpose This paper aims to validate an initially developed e-Health readiness assessment model. Design/methodology/approach The authors thematically analysed an initial qualitative data collected and used the outcome to develop survey instruments for this study. To collect the quantitative data, the authors used the drop and collect survey approach given the research setting. The quantitative data was analysed using factor and regression analyses of SPSS 23 in which hypotheses formulated were tested. Findings The results suggest that the model [R2 = 0.971; F (5, 214) = 1414.303], which is made up of readiness assessment factors (constructs) and measuring tools explain about 97% of the variance of the overall health information technology/e-Health adoption readiness at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. The measuring tools were reliable for assessing the composite variables (constructs): technology readiness; operational resource readiness; organizational and cultural readiness; regulatory and policy readiness; and core readiness, which have significant influence on eHealth adoption readiness assessment.. Originality/value This study has successfully validated empirically developed eHealth readiness assessment model with complete reliable indicators given that existing eHealth readiness assessment models have not been effective due to a general lack of standard indicators for measuring assessment factors. The study also contributes to the growing research on the adoption of information technology/systems in health-care environment using the Technology–Organization–Environment framework.

Although Security is a non-functional requirement, it is a very essential requirement for software systems, to achieve secure software specification development for enterprises we need to find and fix vulnerabilities in the early phase of SDLC. For the successful achievement of secure software specification development in the software enterprise, the security of software application plays a very vital role. During the software development lifecycle, improper security can lead to thoughtful and serious consequences in any enterprise. In this paper, the case study approach is followed regarding the achievement of a secure web application, finding and fixing vulnerabilities in the early software development lifecycle, and applying the re-engineering process on a developed web application using the best security assessment model considering the literature review. Also, validation of the developed application is done with the help of Penetration testing.

Outsourcing, which is a popular business strategy among large companies, is also an attractive option for small entities. However, in order to bring expected results, outsourcing requires knowledge of potential risks and ability of managing them. Even large companies need to face various outsourcing challenges, however, at least they dispose richer resources than small organizations and their success is less dependent on single product delivery. Therefore the aim of the research was to examine the reasons of failure of outsourcing initiatives in SMEs. The authors followed the qualitative approach based on case study method. The obtained results brought contributions in both areas: theoretical as the issue of outsourcing initiatives in SMEs has been analysed to a limited extent; as well as practical because it brought important insight for managers by indicating risks of that they should be aware and properly prepared. The findings indicated the importance of: strategic planning on outsourcing initiative and the development and maintenance of close relations of outsourcing companies with its vendor. An ethnographic case study approach to understanding women’s actions and reactions to husbands’ emigration—or potential emigration—offers a distinct set of challenges to a U.S.-based researcher.  International migration research in a foreign context likely offers challenges in language, culture, lifestyle, as well as potential gender norm impediments. A mixed methods approach contributed to successfully overcoming barriers through an array of research methods, strategies, and tactics, as well as practicing flexibility in data gathering methods. Even this researcher’s influence on the research was minimized and alleviated, to a degree, through ascertaining common ground with many of the women. Research with the women of San Juan Guelavía, Oaxaca, Mexico offered numerous and constant challenges, each overcome with ensuing rewards.
