The objective of this case study is to examine how a farmer, Mr. Alex Omwela Adala, has utilised his talent to create self-reinforcing agricultural enterprises to stand on his own feet. This study addresses a gap in past research on entrepreneurship which tended to focus on profiles of entrepreneurs as well as development and outcomes of investment in businesses. Starting literally from scratch, this farmer has currently nine self-reinforcing agricultural enterprises that have enabled him to cater for his family needs and provide technical support to other small-scale farmers. He has played a key role in founding and managing the Dairy Goat Association of Kenya, Western Kenya Branch. The contribution of this chapter is in using a case study method and a transformative story to learn about talent exploitation for individual and community development. The chapter does not only provide an approach of data collection but also experiential insights and wisdom of an entrepreneur who has travelled the path of investment for 30 years.

Small-scale farmers in Tlogosari, Pagak, Malang have many limitations, especially economically. Instead of wanting to improve economic prosperity, small-scale farmer makes changes to the commodities they grow from sugar cane to sengon (Paraserianthes falcataria (L) or albizia). But the change in this commodity has an impact on changing the pattern of short to long harvests. This condition has increasingly resulted in the economic downturn of the farming family, coupled with the existence of the COVID-19 pandemic, making farmers increasingly powerless. This research focuses on the survival mechanism of small-scale farmers who switch commodities from sugar cane to sengon during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study uses James Scott's theory of the ethics of subsistence as a knife of analysis and uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The research informants were determined by purposive sampling with the criteria of small-scale farmer informants who were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic due to the change of sugarcane commodity to sengon. The price of sengon during the COVID-19 pandemic dropped dramatically due to many factories closed, so farmers are also confused looking for sengon buyers. This condition makes small-scale farmers feel like poor famine. Faced with such conditions, smallholders do survival by other work, namely making gatot, tiwul, and corn grits (ampok) as a profitable employment opportunity in the future of COVID-19

Potatoes are an important cash crop for small-scale producers worldwide. The move away from subsistence to commercialized farming, combined with the rapid growth in demand for processed agricultural products in developing countries, implies that small-scale farmers and researchers alike must begin to respond to these market changes and consider post-harvest treatment as a critical aspect of the potato farming system. This paper presents and assesses a low cost potato-grading machine that was designed explicitly to enable small-scale potato growers to sort tubers by size for supply to commercial processors. The results of ten experiments reveal that the machine achieves an accuracy of sort similar to commercially available graders. The machine, which uses parallel conical rollers, has the capacity to grade different tuber shapes and to adjust sorting classes, making it suitable for locations with high potato diversity. Its relatively low cost suggests that an improved and adapted version of this machine might enhance market integration of small-scale potato producers not only in Peru, but in other developing countries as well.

Artinya  variabel hijauan maupun ampas tahu mempunyai pengaruh nyata terhadap produksi susu kambing perah.ANALYSIS OF THE FACTORS AFFECTING THE PRODUCTION OF GOAT MILK DAIRY CROSSBREED ETAWA (PE) IN THE LIMPOK VILLAGE SUB-DISTRICTS OF DARUSSALAM ACEH BESAR REGENCY(A Case Study in UD. Atjeh Livestock Farm)ABSTRACT Dairy goat milk is a commodity that is quite important in Indonesia. This study aimed to analyze the influence of the number of feeding forage and pulp out of the milk production of dairy goats in UD. Atjeh Livestock Farm that are in the Limpok village sub-district of Darussalam Aceh Besar regency. The method used is the case study method with the object of study throughout the dairy goat hybrid etawa (PE), which produces milk in UD. Atjeh Livestock Farm. The analytical method used in this study is a model Cobb Douglas. The results showed that the variable amount of green feed and tofu has a real influence both simultaneously and partially to the production of milk, which gained the value of simultaneous test for Fcount = 138.415 whereas for Ftable = 3.98, because the value Fcount = 138.415   Ftable = 3.98, the conclusions that can be drawn is to reject H 0. This means that the variable forages and pulp out together have a significant effect on the milk production of dairy goats, whereas the values obtained from the partial test variable forage for tcount = 4,016 whereas ttable = 2,17881, because the value of tcount= 4,016   ttable = 2,17881, the conclusions that can be drawn is to reject H 0. Likewise for variable pulp out obtained value for tcount =  2,255 whereas ttable  = 2,17881, because the value of tcount = 2,255   ttable = 2,17881, the conclusions that can be drawn is to reject H 0. This means that the variable forage or pulp out has a significant effect on the milk production of dairy goats.

Abstract Goals to be achieved through this research are as follows: (1) the scientific explanation about the initial conditions of fishing effort in the area of research in this area is South Minahasa; (2) To obtain information on the historical development of the fish processing industry in North Sulawesi and Minahasa south in particular; (3) To be informed of the obstacles and challenges faced by the fisheries sector investors, especially fish processing timber. This research focuses on one unit of the fish processing industry wooden fish processing plant, and then in the case study method is relevant. The case study method is expected that researchers can examine more detailed and focused on problems experienced by fish processing company. As a consequence the results can not be generalized as like which would otherwise require science. Unless some case studies on the same topic on other companies and the result is the same, the efforts generalizations can be made. However the results of the case study can paint a picture on the history, constraints and barriers to investment that occur in similar industries and other industries. The initial condition of fisheries business investment in South Minahasa in 1995 was still dominated by small-scale businesses, which is limited to household livelihoods of fishermen. How governance is still very traditional in terms of business objectives just to meet daily food needs. Wooden fish processing technology already existed and developed since the year 700 BC in Japan. In Indonesia, especially in North Sulawesi started introduced in 1927 by a Japanese man named Hara Ko. The new investment started in 1971 until now. Investment in fish processing faces many obstacles and challenges, namely (1) the limited market share, (2) Legal certainty is not guaranteed, (3) Investors from outside the region and abroad to invest by holding on minimal information about the culture and traditions of local communities (4 ) morale of local residents very traditional if not arguably worse. (5) The investment policy is supported by the local government level only at the Regent while Assiten level, down to the village more displays of terror and intimidation to investors.
