Ambient Intelligence At-Home Laboratory for Human Everyday Life

The relation of artificial intelligence (AI) and human intelligence (HI) still needs better understanding. In this article, the authors develop the fourth brain concept where AI is considered as a specific form of HI evolution. The concept development considers evolutionary and ontogenetic insights on intelligence. The forth brain can be implemented using ambient intelligence (AMI) environments that surround humans in everyday life. AMI environment allows scaffolding and other assistance information services to compensate for the HI function decay. This article proposes an at-home laboratory (AHL) design where an AMI environment is deployed at home and using everyday devices. In this setting, AHL provides a functionally equivalent alternative to the professional healthcare laboratory, though less accurate and advanced in regard to data measurements and the assistance information value.

Personal information that synchronizes with all our devices. In any modern smartphone you can meet a smart assistant. Smart columns appear, at home, cars controlled by artificial intelligence.

To slow down the spread of the Coronavirus, the population has been instructed to stay<br>at home if possible. This measure consequently has a major impact on our daily mobility<br>behaviour. But who is being affected, and how? The MOBIS-COVID-19 research project,<br>an initiative of ETH Zurich and the University of Basel, is a continuation of the original<br>MOBIS study. The aim of the project is to get a picture of how the crisis is affecting<br>mobility and everyday life in Switzerland.

The idea of artificial intelligence implies the existence of a form of intelligence that is “natural,” or at least not artificial. The problem is that intelligence, whether “natural” or “artificial,” is not well defined: it is hard to say what, exactly, is or constitutes intelligence. This difficulty makes it impossible to measure human intelligence against artificial intelligence on a unique scale. It does not, however, prevent us from comparing them; rather, it changes the sense and meaning of such comparisons. Comparing artificial intelligence with human intelligence could allow us to understand both forms better. This paper thus aims to compare and distinguish these two forms of intelligence, focusing on three issues: forms of embodiment, autonomy and judgment. Doing so, I argue, should enable us to have a better view of the promises and limitations of present-day artificial intelligence, along with its benefits and dangers and the place we should make for it in our culture and society.

Machine learning (ML) is a study of computer algorithms for automation through experience. ML is a subset of artificial intelligence (AI) that develops computer systems, which are able to perform tasks generally having need of human intelligence. While healthcare communication is important in order to tactfully translate and disseminate information to support and educate patients and public, ML is proven applicable in healthcare with the ability for complex dialogue management and conversational flexibility. In this topical review, we will highlight how the application of ML/AI in healthcare communication is able to benefit humans. This includes chatbots for the COVID-19 health education, cancer therapy, and medical imaging.

The reflection on film will be situated within the framework of popular culture and livedreligion as recognised themes within the discipline of practical theology. It is argued that theperspective of viewers is of importance within the process of meaning-making. By focusing onthe experience and meaning-making through the act of film-watching the emphasis is not somuch on the message that the producer wishes to convey but rather on the experience that iscreated within the viewer. Experience is not viewed as only emotional, but rather that, at least,both the cognitive and emotional are key in the act of watching a film. It is therefore arguedthat this experience that is seldom reflected on by viewers could serve as a fruitful platform formeaning-making by the viewer. In a context where there seems to be a decline in institutionalisedforms of religion, it is important to investigate emerging forms of religion. Furthermore, theturn to the self also makes people’s experiences and practices in everyday life valuableresources for theological reflection. This reflection could provide a theoretical framework forespecially empirical research on how film as specific form of media serves as a religiousresource and plays a role in the construction of meaning and religious identity.

This study examines the two important aspect of latest technology issues in Islamic finance that related to artificial intelligence (AI) and smart contract. AI refers to the ability of machines to understand, think, and learn in a similar way to human beings, indicating the possibility of using computers to simulate human intelligence. Smart contract is a computer code running on top of a block-chain containing a set of rules under which the parties to that smart contract agree to interact with each other. The main objectives of this article are to evaluate the operations of AI and smart contract, to make comparison between the operations of AI and smart contract. This article concludes that AI and smart contract will have a huge impact in future for Islamic Finance industry.
